Still waiting for ring refund

Originally very happy with this, and sad it was discontinued. Have had the refund of balance held, but despite the promise to start processing in November have not had the promised proportional refund of the cost, and it appears from Reddit that others haven’t either

The company refuses to delete your account even when you request it through their secure app and respond from your registered email address, unless you provide your personal and financial data, which raises serious concerns about compliance with data protection laws.

I bought this ring pay as a Christmas…

I bought this ring pay as a Christmas present for my husband and it was so easy to connect up and brilliant to use. My husband absolutely loves it, he uses it on the underground tube trains, pubs and clubs instead of having to get his wallet out all the time.
We are both so sad to find that it will very soon be discontinued as it was a fantastic idea Whom ever came up with this idea I hope they got top draw recognition for it
Please do keep us updated with any other genius ideas you discover ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gutted they will cease to work after the end of October 2024. I have really enjoyed this gift. Used predominantly for the TFL and for motorway toll roads without any issues whatsoever in the +2 yrs. I hope something similar comes out as I would really like another contactless payment ring in future. Very convenient device.

I just want to answer some comments here. Yes! McLear is shutting down. Yes! It's really sad :-( as I spend more on the ring than any other way. So simple and easy to use. However, everyone will be getting full refund, less the months used. So what's the gripe. Only that it's a fantastic product that need another company to pick up and run with it.

Very poor service

I ordered from them about 5 days ago placed my order. 5 days later they send me an email to say they are refunding me as they cannot fulfil my order. If the ring size was not available then it shouldn't have been available to order from the website but instead I have payed the company who have then had my money for the last 5 days and then only today issue a refund.

Shocking service no sorry for the inconvenience of allowing me to order when they have no stock of the size or nothing. Shocking customer service.

Don’t waste your time

Don’t waste your time.

Just had the Prepay acct for just over a month. I have now received an email from them about the closure of the McLEAR RingPay pre-paid programme by the end of October 31,2024. So much for a 3 year lifespan of the physical ring. Although they will be offering refund, I still feel like I’ve been conned somehow, as they shouldn’t have been offering this service if they knew they were closing it soon!

Fantastic product.

Fantastic product.
Have just bought my second ring. So convenient as don't have to worry about leaving card behind or watch and phone running out of battery. No charging and always got ring with me. Customer Service also very good. When I first started using ring after a while it stopped working. But I didn't realise. This is a safety feature to make you check into your ringpay account every so often. Customer Service were very quick to respond to my enquiry. Was just about to buy another ring for my son but it looks as though they may be stopping trading as just received an email from them.

Please avoid this ring

There support is virtually non existent, the ring does not work most of the time and when it does I have had to hold the on terminal for 30 seconds to 1 minute which defeats the object of tap and go, the logs out and you can’t log back in

Very good customer experience, after having issues Laura helped me out massively in re ordering the right size and getting the ring activated. And after my ring broke they gave me a voucher for a free upgrade due to not having the current in stock. All quick replies. 10/10

Intermittent at best

Poor. Ring is intermittent at terminals such that you cannot rely on it. It does not work on public transport in London, which I found out by getting stuck behind a barrier and a penalty charge. I sent it back to be checked to be informed there was nothing wrong with it.

Bought the first addition ring pay…

Bought the first addition ring pay which only lasted about 3 months before it cracked and split apart through no neglect...took photos and ring sent out a new ring but again only after approx 3 months exactly the same issue?.....informed Mclear of the problem and suggested maybe a design fault!....They informed me that it would be highly unusual for it to split or crack as the ring is put through vigorous testing?.....I was still within the 1 year warranty and even though I supplied a detailed description of what happened.....they would not replace the ring a second time because I did not produce any pics due to my cleaner discarding it not knowing what it was as it looked like a piece of discarded junk on my sideboard!....they did offer me a 30% discount on purchasing another ring which I'm very reluctant to do after reading very similar incidents as myself and also the "3 year" limited use of the ring!.....The cost does not justify the time length of usability in my eyes....and unless Mclear revise this then I shall hold back until a new more updated technology ring comes to market which looks to be very soon!

Product, Company and Customer Service Fantastic!!

Fantastic Product. Very much enjoy using it. Great for watching your spending on a night out and whenever I use it I get questions about where I got it from. Had an issue that required their customer service team and they were absolutely amazing. Quick response to everything plus resolution was fast and far surpassed my hopes and expectations. Set up was very easy. The App is simple to use. Adding funds takes seconds
Used abroad with no issues. Great product, great company, amazing customer service. Can't recommend highly enough!

Gotta love paying with a Mclear Ring

Absolutely love my ring I'm now going into my fourth year & my 2nd ring. Had the white 1st gen ring & now have the stealth version.
It's a great talking point when you pay as the people on the till are shocked & can't believe you can pay that way.
The support I've received have always been very helpful when I've contacted customer services. Lots of my friends have also purchased them too.
Highly recommended.
