Contacted MedCert for help in getting my FAC renual medical proforma from my Doctor who wanted £300 in cash to fill out the form. Excellent service, I will definitely use MEDCERT again. Thanks

Terrible service
Terrible service. I have waited 5 months for this paperwork.
MedCert genuinely provide a good service
I Placed two orders on 9th October 2023. One for myself and one for my son. I used medcert because it was recommended by the shooting association I am a member of. My medical records were sent by post to Medcert 16th November by my surgery and my sons were sent online from a different surgery a few days earlier. My surgery was generally unhelpful and waited the full 28 days before complying with my SAR. Interestingly I was so concerned about Medcert after reading the reviews on here I also paid Shootcert to do the same thing. Despite me handing my Shootcert letter into them personally and telling my surgery in writing to send my details to Shootcert and not MedCert they incorrectly sent them to MedCert anyway, again by post… In hindsight I think that was probably because MedCert were chasing them and had prompted them into action. After about a week from the posting date the status of my order on the MedCert portal changed to received and then to they are being prepared to send to a Medcert GP. They were at that status from 24th November. On the 7th December the status changed to being reviewed by GP. My sons form then arrived 8am on 14th December and mine arrived 8am on 15th December. In summary I think it took approximately 8 weeks from when MedCert received my medical history. Given I had an uncooperative surgery I think they did well and without them I wouldn’t be able to renew my FAC. I had trouble getting and answer by phone but emails were always answered and I found them no less cooperative than Shootcert in that regard. I hope people find this review helpful.
All was ok.
There are a lot of potential variables in this and timings, and it's hard to know when they wrote to my GP, or how long the GP then took to write back, but for me, I think it was about 6 weeks ish from placing the order to getting my certificate.
I don't know if that should have been a 2 week process or a 3 month process, but 6 weeks all in seemed reasonable.
SLOW - allow 12 weeks!
Applied to use the service on the 11/09/23, finally received my certificate on the 5/12/23 after several chaser emails.
The Medcert system showed that Medcert had my medical records for over 6 weeks before reviewing them.
A useful service which I had to use as my GP no longer supports Firearms documentation, but allow plenty of time!
Avoid this company
Avoid this company. They take your money and ignore you. They don’t respond to emails and don’t answer the phone.
Far too slow
This is the first time i have had to do my renewal with the proforma, took far too long very slow to reply to emails (4 days ) try to phone and wait 40 minutes, lost a lot of shooting time and had to pay an extra £30.50 for my renewal
Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest
Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest! (I could have put negative)
I am 18 weeks & still waiting!! Every time I telephone they are 'in staff training.... '
Email replies are apologetic but never followed up.
Their delay is now costing me... I have had to lodge my guns at an RFD at a cost & have lost my place in a syndicate, let alone any extra days I was planning on buying.. which I cannot do as my guns are stored!!! My local police service I cannot fault, they were ready to print my renewal pending medical cert. I know my med records hold nothing contentious and are are just a tick box exercise. (I sort of know the local constabulary procedures, having been a member for over 30 yrs) I know why the medical certificate is important to the new procedures for renewal and application.
However, MedCert seem to promote their efficiency over local GP, but in my case (and as it appears in cases of many I speak to) have failed to achieve... DO NOT USE MEDCERT - IF YOUR GP IS 3 X THE COST USE THEM! I cannot express my dissapointment..
Useless. Still waiting after 3 months!
Applied at the beginning of September, still waiting, no communications, no explanation, now have to pay for storage because this CPSA recommended company's services are not fit for purpose. Disgusting that they're allowed to deliver such an unprofessional and ineffective service. All club activities over Christmas period ruined. Thanks. No. Really. Thank you SO much.
Avoid this lot I been waiting since…
Avoid this lot I been waiting since August and now it December and still nothing ....ring them no answer email them no reply ....save your money don't be fool by this load of con artists
Pay the extra few quid and use someone else!
Wish I had thought to check trustpilot beforehand. Medcert have had my documents for a month now and have still not returned the documents for firearms certificate. After chasing was promised it for a certain date or sooner. Didn't come I sent a follow-up and it was ignored.
AVOID
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! ABSOLUTE FRAUDSTERS. REPORTED TO THE POLICE AND TRADING STANDARDS. NOTHING BUT LIES
Why all the one-star reviews?
Well, after seeing all the one-star reviews on here I wondered if these reviewers were using the same service as me! I have to say I have experienced none of the issues others have. My medical records arrived at MedCert on 20th October 2023, I made a couple of email enquiries and two phone enquiries, all of which were answered promptly and efficiently. I susequently received my pro-forma certificate on 22nd November 2023. A one-month turnaround can only be applauded and a five-star review is fully deserved, I think. Thank you MedCert, a great service.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Do not go anywhere near this company, total rip off merchants, you'll be fobbed off with a load of BS every time you chase up your order.
I have reported to Trading Standards..I suggest anyone else they have scammed do the same and hopefully get these charlatans closed down!!
Requested a Doctors certificate for…a firearms & Shotgun licence
Requested a Doctors certificate for renewal of my shotgun & Firearms Licence From Medcert which was due to expire on 22nd October 2023. I applied to them in June 2023. As to date I have received nothing from them. Unable to phone them, Sent emails which are either not replied to or given a lame excuse that they will update me shortly. How long does it take for a doctor to sign a piece of paper?. They are totally useless. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
Avoid them at any cost. Scandalous Owner
They are unprofessional and un ethical people . The owner Daryn Kenneth use Medical professionals (GP’s ) privately to do the paper work. As he approached me as medical professional GP in early 2023 do the paper work for his company . I did the paper work promptly and returned on time. After couple of payments , he started sending large volume of reports saying urgent to complete and requested if I can finish within expected short time scale. I did for him as favour and he delayed 2 payments giving some excuses. I believed him stupidly and did further work and send the final invoice and told him to pay the invoice before doing further work. Shocking surprise, there after no response to my email and phone calls from him or his office. They own me over 4k . I am now dealing with them legally .
As they scam medical professionals to do the legal paper work and not paying them around is also one of the main reasons for the delay as the records might have stuck due to non-payment from this scandalous company ( Owner : Daryn Kenneth) . I would recommend all users to totally avoid this cowboy company as they don’t pay the medical professionals who do the work thus affecting end customers with delays or not getting the certificate at all
If i could i would have given -5* for this scam company
I wish I'd read these reviews before…
I wish I'd read these reviews before using this company. I applied for the report on my husband's behalf in August; on 20 Oct I was told that the medical records had just been sent to their doctor. The Firearms licence expired on 6/11/23, no sign of the report yet, despite my being told that the report was expected within 10 working days of the records being sent to the doctor. His medical history is very straightforward, and the Firearms team say they are only interested in the previous 10 years history for a renewal. The local Firearms dept has refused to give an extension to the renewal deadline. He's had to put his guns into storage, incurring extra expense, and we have heard that our local area are now very reluctant to grant a new Firearms licence.
This company are inefficient, unhelpful and seemingly not concerned with the real problems their poor service causes - odd, for a company supposedly set up by shooters.
Edit: report arrived today, over six weeks after I was told it should be available in two weeks. Coincidentally the same day as I sent a second email asking for a refund - I didn’t receive any useful response to my first email.
Avoid at all costs
Where do I start, in Spring of 2022 we completed the online form and paid our fee to receive certification. 18 months of trying to get in contact with MedCert they finally responded and answered one of our calls, this was after multiple emails and phone calls over this period. I requested to speak to a director about the service and the fact it had delay our firearms license by 18 months plus. He assured me that it wasn't the way MedCert operated and our issue was down to a member of staff that had knowledge gaps hence the time it took to seek any clarity on the situation. Maybe I am a fool but after speaking to him and recognising that all businesses can have issues with knowledge gaps I gave them a second chance. The director offered to speak to Northamptonshire constabulary in order to expedite the process and assured me he would be in contact with an update within a week. Well surprise surprise, this was 4 weeks ago and guess what multiple calls to him later and he has not returned one single voicemail! The service and professionalism of this business is a disgrace. The communication is some of the worst I have ever experienced from a business and they do not seem bothered in the slightest! They should not be in the service business, taking peoples money and not delivering on their commitment is not on, after reading the reviews I wonder how many more times they can get away with this way of working before they are reported and have to answer to a governing body. We have now enquired with an alternative service provider and I am hoping we have better luck
Medcert
Whilst the customer service staff are friendly and professional, and have done what they could to help, Medcert as a company should be avoided. They delivered at the eleventh hour, which was too late, and as such I have ended up incurring additional costs. These costs are as a direct result of their late delivery. To date they have offered no full and honest explanation for the delay. Due to the fact that Medcert are delivering a service to help its customers fulfil legal obligations, against strict deadlines, this is a problem. I would advise any one who was thinking of using Medcert to use a different platform.
Shouldn't be allowed to trade
I have nothing further to add to the already terrible reviews that have previously been posted.
Medcert is an absolutely shocking service and shouldn't be allowed to trade.
Appalling
I ordered my certificate 5th July. Medcert received my medical records early august. Since then nothing. Repeated calls, mostly unanswered, emails mostly unanswered. When a response comes, its vague and inconclusive. Was promised the certificate in mid September within 5-7 working days Nothing. I've been told it's being chased. Then nothing. If you can find an alternative to Medcert, I strongly advise you use them as this has been a waste of £60 and a huge amount of frustration. Plus, someone, has my entire medical records and I doubt Medcert know who. Appalling.
They don't even deserve one star.
31.10.23
Within 10 minutes of submitting this review, an email came through once more saying my records are with a gp being prepared. (same response week after week). This after no reply to any emails.
If they get my certificate done and show some willingness to accept responsibilty for this then I'm happy to review my opinion but currently theres a sense of no care at all.
7/11/23
Last week following the above review, yet more empty promises that my medical certificate would be with me shortly and that it was with one of Medcert's GPs. It has supposedly been one since September.
My feeling is this may all be a scam. Take in 100 orders, process half and ignore the bleating of those who are watching their gun licence renewal date approach whilst getting zero response from Medcert. I've raised a dispute claim with my Credit Card company now and have finally tracked down a face to face private GP appointment to get this done. Last words - don't use Medcert. Appalling, with no sincere attempts to help resolve what should have been a simple chase up of a seriously late order. They just don't care.
