Yanhee International Hospital - Horrible Experience!! Beware

I Must say my pre and post op care was appalling. Pre- op i asked the IV nurse not to put the IV in left or right hand as over the years experienced anaesthetists could not get one in either hand as the veins collaspe. I pointed out the better areas she ignored me and caused me alot of pain, and told me it was because i moved. I moved becuse it felt like she was sticking it in my muscle. I was upset and crying, alot. They took me down to theatre and the nurse down there listened to me and got in the IV straight away.

Post op I was in so much pain, I woke up from a Revision breast Augmentation wrapped in a wet, freezing cold cotton roll underneath a compression bandage from hips to under my arms, my bedding was wet and freezing cold in recovery, I woke up in so much pain even though i opted and paided more money for extra pain relief. ( never in my life have i been so cold, shaking and crying ). I kept asking for pain relief and a warm blanket in recovery, they ignored me. I think they got sick of my Whinging as they sent me to the ward in a state i would never in Australia send patient back to the ward. On the ward i was still Shaking, and crying for over 3hrs and had 5 cold blankets on me,I still could not get warm. The pain was unberable. I kept asking for a bair hugger or hot blanket, as my bedding was wet and so cold. So I got out of bed and removed the wet bedding underneath me

I also found that I was given inadequate pain relief postop for a westerner (foreigner) . In Australia we give paediatrics patients doses of opoids and paracetamol based on weight. Here i was given oral panadol 500mg and 50mg Tramadol postop (this paediatric doses in Australia). Postop in the wards in australia we give 1gm panadol x4 dailyl and 100mg tramadol x 2 daily( if your kidney are ok tramadol is given ) until pain improves.

In australian hospitals we also pre warm patients if the operation is over 2 hrs and also use a bair hugger intraop and post op if the patient wakes up shaking and in distress, this reduces shaking and stress on the surgical wound site. Studies done in Australian have shown pre, intraop and post-op warming reduces pain and discomfort. I am still having alot of pain now. 4 wks post op i still have stitches in my left breast as a seroma formed and still on antibiotics

The surgeon was fanastic, I highly recommend him and would see him again any day for surgery. But i would never come back to Yanhee Hospital for surgery again or recommend anyone else to have it here

. My friend with had a similar experience as mine, at the same time, with a facelift postop with been shockingly cold and sore.She was quite shocked, angry, and distressed with the postop care. I have had many surgery and have never woken up so cold or in so much pain . I can honestly say this was the worst experience myself and my friend has ever had through out the whole surgical experience at Yanhee Hospital in Bangkok

I think to improve the pre and post op care for foriegns, need to be reviewed and modified for westerners physiology, as tolerance to opoids is higher than Asian physiology.
A formal complaint to the management at Yanhee Hospital has been put in. So I hope our horrible experience helps other people.

prior to arriving in Turkey you are treated amazing, well looked after.
till you arrive and pay for your surgery.
I went alone and the treatment received by hospital staff bar one was horrific. I can hand on heart say it was the most traumatic experience I had ever been through. no translators as they say, you have to use your phone, your not told what's going on, I was kept at the hospital and extra night but was never told why, so as you can imagine I was thinking the worst yet no one ensured me otherwise. luckily the lady in the next room was English and we helped eachother through.
the nursing staff were horrendous apart from one.
and my medproper co ordinator took it upon himself to threaten me to 'tell my husband' because I gave my honest opinion to another soon to be patient on MY experience. which he did, infact contact my husband. the unprofessionalism from this company is shocking, when your paying, if you don't take their £200 aftercare package your looked down upon like your nothing.
definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Gloves were not used, my canula was kept in by a nurse using a cover from a fruit, needles just left in the rooms uncovered, cats around the hospital, my bed sheets were covered in blood and not changed, the shower in the room I was in was only freezing cold water.
I hand on heart scaled passed bad reviews, I now wish I would have taken them into consideration and went elsewhere.
oh and you get blocked after leaving a negative review on social media as the lady who was next door to me has found.

Medproper was the company I used.
I went to this company after I was told I would be able to have 4 implants in the front of my mouth rather than have 2 implants and a bridge which I did not want, so off I went to Turkey for my first treatments which went fine I had the 7 implants and had to return after 3 months to have crowns fitted and root canal treatment.
On return a different doctor took over and gave me plastic teeth to see how they looked, after 2 days I was called in for my crowns to be fitted, the doctor fitted the teeth into my mouth with out even showing me them first,the crowns were not individual crowns, at the front the 4 crowns were on one plate and glued in .
on the side there was 2 crowns welded together which were also glued in.
And single one on top side was also glued in.
I said to the doctor this is not what I expected, but he claims this is the best way and newest way to fit the crowns these days. I asked about the root canal because on my second visit the person taking my money said I should have 2 root canals,I was confused .
Even though the panoramic x-ray was in front of the doctor he told me he did not know if I needed a root canal treatment and that I should wait and see tomorrow what they say. At this point I asked is that it ? are these my permanent teeth now?and he replied that they were.
I was upset and no longer trusted if they knew what they were doing and just wanted to leave as the implants looked good and I had lost confidence in the medproper team. I left and made excuses I had family crisis. The next morning whilst eating egg on toast the single crown fell off. After a few days the 2 stuck together on the bottom fell off. After talking photos of the front 4 crowns I can see one of the pegs on the side so the plate has not covered the pegs properly. I reached out to medproper to inform them about crowns sending photos crowns coming off and peg visible,and there reply was to go to a dentist and get them to glue them back on
I have been in constant touch with medproper but have got nowhere I have offered to come back at the end of October 2024 to have the crowns fitted properly but have had a reply from them saying the gum will grow back around the peg.
I know from Google that once your gum has receded it will not grow back.
I am still trying to get this work rectified and will be in India from November and will most probably pay out again and get proper treatment there.
I feel like I am just a number to medproper and they will not take any action to rectify the problems I am having with my crowns.

Just finished having my hair transplant. All went really well. Great team and service. Would highly recommended.

I have just returned from Antalya after having 360 lipo and a Tummy Tuck. Medical travel have been absolutely fantastic. My package was all put together by Bradley and the London team. I was greeted on arrival in Antalya and taken to a wonderful hotel that I chose in advance. I was taken to meet my Dr by a local representative called Ipek. She was amazing and felt like a friend , answering all my questions and making me feel at ease. I had the great pleasure of being operated on by DR Berat. His personal clinic was stunningly elegant and once again every question I asked was answered. I felt calmed and very much looked after. You’re in permanent contact while in Turkey and any questions you have are soon answered. All the transfers are in private cars and very private and take you to all your appointments. I was very impressed with the Memorial hospital and everyone i met was extremely helpful and calming. You have a private suite with TV which has Netflix so I suggest signing up as it provided a little home from home. Dr Berat visited every day of my 2 night stay and ensured I was well cared for. Once discharged I returned to my fabulous hotel and several days later I was sitting by the pool relaxing. On my return to Dr Berats clinic for one of my checkups I was amazed to discover I had no bruising and everything was so neat . The sign of a great Dr. Overall I was extremely impressed and if your are at all thinking of having anything medically done , then I cannot recommend Medical Travel highly enough. I once again thank all the team for everything.

Please be careful. I had a negative experience after a tummy tuck and liposuction. I came back to the UK and my wound opened up, I fell ill and was admitted to the surgical emergency admission unit. 3 months on and I have a large abdominal lump, a wound that still hasn’t healed and a hole in my abdomen. I have been under the tissue viability team and have had 3 months off work with no possibility of going back any time soon. Very little contact from this company, no contact from management, no response to messages requesting management get in touch. They were super helpful until things went wrong. That said, they offered (via the patient coordinator) a return trip to Turkey for more surgery with the same recovery time. Unfortunately I am too sick to travel and the GP strongly advises against both travel and further surgery outside the UK. I read the reviews, did my research beforehand, felt safe when I was out there in the beautifully clean hospital. However, I would just ask anyone reading this to think about the consequences when things go wrong. I have a hole in my lower abdomen and a large protruding and growing lump in my upper abdomen. The sad thing is that I didn’t go for this procedure, I was told on arrival in Turkey that my treatment plan would produce a ‘bad outcome’ unless I opted for more extensive surgery. When I asked if I had any option I was met with silence. Please be careful. I was naive and regret what I did and now have to live with it. I’m seeking legal advice and a private referral for corrective surgery in the UK.

I had a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Helen was patient from day one, ensuring I could ask questions at anytime and be reassured with answer as soon as feasible. She did not badger me to make quick decisions and gave me the time to condense all I for and to be happy with my decision.
Sertaç, who was responsible for organizing all my pickups and appointments was always one step ahead of the game and would confirm pickups and then reconfirm closer to the time, I was never left with concerns regarding being collected from my hotel, as Sertaç had every minute detail noted.
Dr Berat and Fatma, were both charming and kind. Dr Berat enabled me to ask multiple questions whenever I was concerned. Fatma was outstanding, she appreciated I was alone in a foreign city and was constantly messaging me to make sure I was ok, a lovely, gentle, lady who had my welfare at heart.

Medical travel were very helpful, was very nervous at first especially going solo, but the experience was good for me and all the transfers, hotel an the hair transplant. Everything was great an on time,

My whole experience in turkey has been nothing but outstanding. From the moment we stepped off of the plane we have been made to feel safe and comfortable. The care provided by the team from the drivers, the patients care coordinator, nursing staff, anaesthetist to the surgeon, has been, exceptional. I have felt safe and well cared for throughout the whole experience and would highly recommend this company and their amazing team to others.

Hi I was given a referral from a friend....and can say I wasn't disappointed!! I went for a tummy tuck and liposuction. All of my flights,hotel and travel to and hospital were very well organized...not one delay....Ipeka was fantastic and kept me up to date with everything....my surgeon was amazing and I fully trusted him....I cannot wait to see my final result...I knowit will be great ...Thank you!!!!

This day I had my Hair transplant and It went really smooth. It was totally pain free with anaesthetic. I would recommend it to everyone whoever is interested. It was a great experience with medical travel co. They have provided the best hotel for the stay and the transfer was luxurious too. The Doctor was friendly and informative. I’m really excited for my new hair. The medical travel team were really helpful and supportive. They helped me in every way possible with my hair transplant journey. This is an extensive review that I hope will help anyone who is planning to have surergy abroad. This is not an easy decision to make especially with the risks associated with surgery abroad and scams. I had breast augmentation and uplift surgery.
When exploring who to go with Medical Travel Co's website looked good and they have their Facebook and Instagram Pages. However, much of the material appeared to be related to dental and hair transplant, therefore I was not sure that Medical Travel had the expertise in the area of surgery I was interested in.
I was contacted almost instantly by Bradlley upon lodging my enquiry. Bradley's title is medical consultant, which is a bit misleading. I would say he is a sales rep. Bradley was very personable and most helpful during the initial stages.
Upon trying to establish if the company was legitimate, the information was not forthcoming. However, after several emails and an online meeting, I had the information to reassure me, such as the company's registration number, details of the director and agreements related to what was 'promised' in their offer.
With products such as accommodation and cosmetic surgery, I expected more details to be provided once I'd paid my deposit. I expected detailed information about the package and the terms and conditions. Medical Travel Co is a relatively new company and it feels like they are a work in progress. It seemed the delay in receiving the information was because it was in the making, some of it seemingly in response to my questions. I give the company credit for being open about this.
Medical Travel Co arranged my surgery by Dr Berat Cigdem in Antalya, Turkey. An extensive search on the internet found him to be credible with an excellent reputation. He has Facebook and Instagram pages, to which he posts regularly his work and experiences of his patients. He appears to be famous in Antalya. Having been to his clinic and undergone surgery I can say that he appears professional and conscientious. His image and reputation are important to him and he seems like a man who would not put his reputation at stake by taking risks with his patients.
The surgery was performed without complications. Dr Berat explained every step of the way. However, have your questions ready and check that medical staff understand what you're asking. Doing research beforehand and knowing exactly what you want will help.
Medical care was excellent with regular check-ins by hospital staff. Dr Berat has a good bedside manner. He always greeted me with a smile and took time to explain what would happen next and aftercare. He appears to be a confident and enthusiastic plastic surgeon who is happy in in his role and proud of his work. I take this as a good sign of a surgeon who is highly skilled and motivated to achieve excellent results for his patients.
Four months post surgery, my breasts look amazing. They were painful for a while, as to be expected but now there is no pain and the scars have healed very well. I can now wear those tops and dresses I longed to wear which would show a nice (respectful) cleavage.
The hotel was a 5 star all inclusive called Miracle Resort Hotel in Lara, Antalya. It was out of season and there was lots of work taking place. This was mainly of the children's areas and internal stairs. This meant there was drilling and banging most of the day. There was aslo work taking place on the jetties which meant that even on the beach I could not escape the noise.
I understand that out of season is the best time to do such works and no doubt they offer a reduced rate for the hotel package but not the best for someone who is recovering from surgery. However, in all honesty this was a minor irritation for me but to others this may be signficant and you may want to factor this in to your experience.
Medical Travel Co offer 5 star hotels but a week before I was due to depart I was downgraded to a 4 star hotel. When I challenged this I was upgraded back to a 5 star but it would seem only because they got the right rate due to the work taking place. So one might ask if 5 star is really an option. Agian, do your research. There is the option of booking your own accommodation.
All being said, the hotel was grand, clean and the food was very good. I enjoyed being there. My room was quiet and I had good views of the sea and mountians.
There are many horror stories out there and I am happy that mine is not one of them. I can confidently say that I was in good hands with Dr Berat, his team, Ipek my guide/interpreter and Medical Travel Co.
Ipek was assigned to me by Medical Travel Co and she accompanied me to the clinic and the hospital and she stayed with me on the day of surgery. She was a godsend! Thank you Dr B, Fatma, Ipek & Brad

My experience was amazing. Communication with The Medical Travel team was brilliant. My interpreter was always on hand. Hotel was lovely as were all the staff. Hospital care was fantastic. My surgeon Dr Canter was absolutely brilliant. I am over the moon with the results. I wish I'd done this years ago!
