Disinterested doctor who failed to fill out my D4 form correctly

TLDR: Very unprofessional setup with a disinterested doctor who failed to fill out my D4 form correctly. No apology. No compensation for the time I wasted sorting out their error. If you have the option, take your business elsewhere.

I used Medicald4.com in Cambridge. I turned up at the appointed time and knocked on the door. A guy answered whilst on the phone with a baby screaming in the background and asked me to wait 5 minutes. A few minutes later he took me into his garage and asked if I’d brought my D4 form. I said I’d assumed he’d supply that and he seemed a bit grumpy about having to use his one. He then proceeded to disinterestedly run through the form ticking boxes and stamping pages. He stopped at one point and asked me to read the letters on the wall. Within about 5 minutes we were all done and I was on my way (with £55 less in my bank account).

I sent my D4 form off to the DVLA and a couple of weeks later it came back to me telling me that the D4 form had not been completed correctly. It turned out the doctor didn’t take my blood pressure and had left the box empty.

I emailed the address on their website, but the email bounced with an error. I phoned the mobile number and got asked to send an email. The person then texted me the email address on their website, so I informed him that was not working. We then proceeded to communicate via text. The communication was ok, but a bit grumpy and unprofessional.

When I went back to the doctor in Cambridge I arrived at the time I was told, but there was no one home. I waited and 5 minutes later he appeared. The first thing he said was “do you have an appointment?”. I said “yes”. He said “What time?”. “09:30, so 5 minutes ago”. He seemed quite surprised about that, so I can only assume I was not texting him and his boss forgot to tell him. I went into his garage and he asked what the problem was. I told him he forgot to do my blood pressure and he said “Oh it’s you. You caused me lots of trouble”. I said “that’s not my fault” and then he started complaining that I was making him stressed and raising his blood pressure! The conversation deteriorated from there.

Overall a very unprofessional outfit. The error cost me a load of time and I don’t think I ever got an apology and definitely no compensation for having to spend an hour going back for them to correct their mistake.

D4 medical in Cambridge

I had a D4 medical in Cambridge yesterday, in support of my application to the DVLA to renew/retain my C1 licence, which I need to drive our 4-ton rated motorhome.

The appointment lasted just 15 minutes, during which time the doctor worked quickly through the medical assessment. He was both charming and efficient.

Had my medical yesterday with Murtala. Very friendly and felt at ease from the get go. He helped me with my forms and explained everything very well.

Unreliable, non professional

Unreliable, non professional.paid and booked an appointment 9:00 online with Dr. Had a call from him at night to come after 10:30 0r 8:30am.10 min to 9 received call to come to hospital waited 10 mins.2 men came n handed me a paper (medical certificate unfilled) and asked me to come later 10:30 or tomorrow as someone is running late for scan appointment. Later 10:15 did medical .Unreliable and non professional approach towards clients.no consideration for other work and time.not going again .

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate your time when writing the feedback.

We struggle to understand how we lack consideration for other people’s time when we specifically called you to inform you that one of our doctors will be running late because of a delayed scan at the hospital for one of our patients.

We informed you and give you the option to either come later or earlier so you don’t have to wait outside ( during covid restrictions). You choose the option to come later and we completed your Medical at 10:15. At the time you were pleasant and were happy that we managed to slot you in for a bit later that same day.

Unfortunately delays to happen sometimes we try and avoid them and mitigate risk and it’s consequences for both ourselves and our drivers. We do aim to inform our drivers well in advance in such circumstances.

We wish the best with your future endeavours.
