good quality, bad shipping

I ordered a booklet a couple of weeks ago. After a few days, I received an email stating that it would arrive in 6 to 8 days. They didn't even get close to honoring this promise. Much to my surprise, the book did eventually arrive and in good condition. Still, the fact that they lied about the date of arrival makes me unlikely to use this site again.

Very happy with my purchase

Very happy with my purchase! The book arrived more quickly than I expected (10 business days to get from Germany to Iowa), it was packaged securely in bubble wrap, and was in even better condition than the listing had indicated. Quite pleased -- will keep medimops in mind next time I'm buying books.

Ordered a board game 3 times. Received the same cook book every time.

Ordered a board game. Got a cook book. Returned it. Got a mail that they found the game and I ordered it again. Received the excact same book. This time I didn't return it and ordered the board game one more time, with the expectation that this they will get it right. The cook book out of the picture. Non the less I received the excact same book once more. Three times in a row. Great. Returned again. And a everlasting problem getting refunded alle my expences for returning items. As of today I still havn't got my refund yet, although Medimops claims so.

Very shady business practice

Very shady business practice. Company stated item shipped 3 weeks ago. Item never arrived, provided DHL code never worked. After multiple contacts this company provided suspicious, vague answers and no correct DHL tracking info. AVOID!

Cheap games but awful shipping policy

Cheap games but awful shipping policy. I paid €8 for shipping costs from Germany to Denmark and 10 days later I have received nothing. Apparently even though they charged me for proper shipping service with tracking number that normally takes 3-4 days they have chosen to use the cheapest option without even tracking. Total robbery. If you really want to receive your games buy from somewhere else or you will have to wait for 20 days for the games to be delivered as they say.

Unsatisfying changes

I was always super happy with Medimops. Good prices, fast and uncomplicated shipping and a big variety of books, even rarer books for college education. Today I wanted to buy a book for an exam and shockingly neither PayPal nor shipping to a DHL Packstation was possible anymore. That's what made Medimops so convenient for me. Frustrated about the change I decided not to place any order. Even if I wanted, I simply CANNOT send parcels to my home address because of other tenants stealing everything that does mot fit in my mailbox. Now I have to look for another book thrift store online. Very disappointing, Medimops lost me as a customer!

poor service / poor condition books

I have ordered from medimops many times. Usually the service is fine and the books arrive in the condition they were described as being in.

Most recently though I received a book which was described as “very good” but was actually in very poor condition, with a terrible crack in the spine and paper peeling off of the spine itself.

For a 32$ dollar order I was offered a partial refund of 25% (8$) —or a whole refund (minus return shipping) after returning the book (which would cost me 16$ to ship).

Rather than be out of pocket 16$ for an experience that cost me time and money I chose to take the paltry 8$ partial refund, though I consider the refund amount to be insufficient and this reflects on the poor business ethics and “cheapness” of this massive company.

In contrast, I have ordered many used books from the American bookseller Powell’s Books and the few times that I have received damaged books from them they have offered me full refunds or 75% refunds without having to send back the book. By comparison Powell’s is a much smaller company than Medimops but they care much more about their customers and aren’t “cheap” like Medimops.

Additionally, when Powell’s responds to a complaint i feel like I am communicating with a real human. —When Medimops’ customer service responds I feel like I am dealing with a bot 🤖

I already knew that I had been issued a paltry refund of 25% so why is Anna telling me again that I have been issued this 25% refund (which hasn’t arrived in my account yet) instead of responding to my complaints with human answers?

A company that practices good business ethics would have responded with an apology for selling me goods that were inaccurately described and for costing me time and money. They would then offer a refund of 50-100% upon proof (photos) that the goods were in fact inaccurately described, without me requiring to waste more of my time and money by sending back a book which was falsely advertised to begin with.

The fact that medimops responds to my negative review with a stock robot answer shows how little they care about their customers

The second response that I received below (after the first was deleted) is rather humourous and says volumes about how the customer service is lacking over there at momox.

Momox says: “this solution may not be satisfactory, but it is not a problem”.

Well, thank you for telling me that an unsatisfactory solution is not a problem.

I can see that it’s not a problem for YOU.

Wrong edition

I ordered 5 books (a whole series). For me it's really important that all books are from one serious because it brings order into my bookshelf. Got all the books on time (that's why I don't give 1 star), but just one book was the edition I ordered. It's really frustrating especially because I didn't know that. They have a little paragraph on their webside that the editions can vary, but it's way too small and easy to miss.

So on the end medimops is not a bad shop, as long as you know what you are buying and what to expect from it. They are trustworthy and retouring what you've bought is not a problem.

Terrible customers service

To buy directly from medimops is a nightmare. When they send you the wrong product, instead of reimbursing or providing an easy way to return the ítems, they ask you to send them yourself . It has happened twice to me. Both times the shipping costs were far higher than the price of the book. It is a well thought strategy since you have to pay the return postage out of your own pocket as well as lose precious time queuing up at the post office. It is not worthy and they know it. A rip-off. Terrible customer's service on top of it. They don't care at all about regular customers, who like me, has bought hundreds of books from them. I'll think twice before buying anything from them. Pitiful and appalling.

Company not interested in delivering the book, replacing or issuing a refund. I have to chase them.

Ordered a book. A month later it hadn’t arrived so I emailed them. Apparently, the book had been damaged by courier and returned to the company. Nobody bothered to advise me or issue a refund.

Despite having stock of the same book, they said they can’t send a replacement. I’m still waiting for my refund. Company couldn’t care less about the inconvenience and time they wasted.

Overall, quite a disappointing experience. I wouldn’t use this company again.

UPDATE: You do have the necessary information as I already tried resolving this over multiple emails with you. I also added the order number to this review so you could easily contact me if that was your true intention.

Deutlich besser als gut

Even goods that are only listed as being in "good" condition, usually are in quite good condition. Generally I can find enough items to get to 10 Euro for free shipping too.

Excellent

I'm based in Portugal and I've ordered twice from Medimops and I was happy both times. You need to use Google to translate the page from German to English but still, the order process was straightforward and the books arrived much sooner than I expected them - both times they arrived within 1 week and a half after ordering. The books were in good condition, and much cheaper than they would have cost if they were new. I will definitely keep buying from Medimops.

Shipping chaos, bad customer service

One month ago, I ordered 3 books - 2 arrived plus one that I didn't order but had to send back on my own expense. Customer service is a disgrace! I'm still waiting for a reimbursement for the book that wasn't delivered and the shipping costs for the one I had to send back. This was the first and last time, never again!! Read the reviews on their Facebook page, I read them too late unfortunately...
