Well what can i say about these boots!!!?

The one good thing is that they're comfy!!

Other than that the quality is appalling

I bought mine around 2 years ago, cost over £200!! very quickly the stitching started to come apart on the toes.

Now Im not a hiker or a serious walker!! I just wanted a good quality waterproof pair of boots to walk the dog on a flat field near my house.... no rough terrain etc

I emailed Customer Service today...admittedly I should have done so much earlier but Id like to share their response as its pretty laughable when you consider these boots are very expensive and sold as proper walking boots -

Further to your email below, I am sorry to hear that you have experienced issues with your Meindl Journey Mid GTX boots and appreciate your disappointment.

Unfortunately, the boots are now outside of Meindl's manufacturing warranty period. Had they been returned to us earlier, we would likely have been able to arrange a repair under the warranty process.

From our experience, frequent dog walking can place particularly high demands on footwear, especially when boots are worn several times a day in a variety of terrain and weather conditions. For this level of use, particularly during the winter months, we would generally recommend considering a more robust, heavier-duty boot designed for prolonged and intensive wear.

so basically even though these boots cost over £200 and I had genuinely barely worn them before they started falling apart the advice was immediately that I should have bought a heavier more robust boot!!

FYI the boots I have are Meindl MID GTX Goretex Waterproof boots designed for and I quote 'ideal for everyday walking, trails, and leisurely hikes'

Anyway I would never buy this brand again and I would advise checking other online reviews before you pass over your hard earned cash for this extremely poor quality brand.

The shoes were beautiful and very nice but I gave one star less because I sent back. I ordered one size bigger but still tight at the front part.

I agree with another reviewer regarding the current appalling quality of this brand.

On the Bernina model, which I recall costing over 300 bucks, after only 6 months of moderate use, holes formed in the inner leather.
A fold of hard leather formed around the holes, which created friction and therefore blisters after only 10 km of walking. They are now unusable.

Swift delivery. Good customer service. Smooth exchange of boots for right size. All-in-all an effortless experience. And, primarily, Great Boots!!

Easy and with now problems returning the boots I bought.

Bought a pair of mindless douvre extreme boots for £360 and within a week of use the rubber started peeling away from the leather, I was on a walking holiday so had no alternative to continue using them. When I got home, the glue had completely perished and the boots were ruined! I contacted customer support and haven’t heard back at all, it’s been a week and a half. Can’t believe I payed so much money for such a poor quality product and I don’t know where to turn to get my money back.

Great shoes and great delivery service! I ordered two pairs of insoles and my hiking shoes are ready for hundreds of new kilometers !

Bestilte 2 par Sölden støvler 1/12-20 men modtog kun 1 par, efterfølgende fik jeg besked om at de ikke var på lager mren at de skulle komme til mig fra Tyskland d.18 december.
Skrev til Meindel d.20/12-20 for at rykke for varen og for at få info, de svarede d.22/12 med samme besked om at de var på vej. D. 28/12 har jeg stadig ikke modtaget vare eller yderligere info.
Det er meget skuffende af en så stor virksomhed ikke har bedre kundeservice.
Ordered 2 pairs of Sölden boots 1 / 12-20 but only received 1 pair, subsequently I was told that they were not in stock but that they should come to me from Germany on 18 December.

Wrote to Meindel d.20 /12-20 to follow up on the boots and to get info, they replied d.22 /12 with the same message that they were on their way.
28/12 I still have not received item or additional info.
It is very disappointing of such a large company not having better customer service.

Sent my hiking boots in for resoling after 16 years of service, and they came back cleaned, oiled, repaired, and with new shoelaces and insoles. Ordered the repair via Meindl.se and got clear instructions on how to prep the boots, where to send them, and then only had to wait for them to be returned to me. Easy peasy. Am looking forward to hiking with them next summer.
