Horrible!

Horrible!! Gave me a tough time and had to switch to Zotero in the middle of paper submission because Mendeley would not let me add new references! Now redoing the whole work. Wasted my time and efforts. Would not recommend Mendeley to anyone.

No more mendeley

It's bad, no no it's worst. Additionally, they don't care for feedbacks.

I said them that zotero is much more better to encourage them to make their software better, they replied me that each software has unique specifications!

They are really stupid.

I concur with all the other reviews

I concur with all the other reviews. I used it for my thesis
I estimate it has wasted over 100 hours of my time purely because I’d sent a paper from it to reviewers who opened it in Microsoft online as they had Macs. When it was sent back to me with changed the references now didn’t update and got completely muddled. It was a huge piece with over 300 references. So I had to go through manually overriding every single one. Then when I copied this to my thesis it ruined those >600 references. Completely wasted my time. Awful programme. I reported this two years ago. Nothing on their FAQs or training to warn you of this still. I reached out whilst editing my thesis for help, still no solution.
Do not use

Absolute dogshit program

Absolute dogshit program. Takes millennia to load and still crash even with my high-end gaming pc. Always randomly cause crazy errors, such as mass multiplying citations of the paragraphs into the front of the page, or duplicating the whole bibliography. Such a waste of my time to manually check and solve these problems. Do not use this until it's too late.

Difficult. Clunky. Doesnt work

1. It crashes after inserting 3 references. Need to restart frequently.
2.If you reorder your text, the numbering doesnt update. I cant even do this manually, it's adding ALOT of time to my day. Wasted hours sifting through FAQs online (there are so many its hard to find your answer).
3.Trying to report the issue is a huge pain. Slow to respond and you get a million questions as a response and this itself also ADDS TIME to my day. Will just switch to another reference manager. This one is WORK

I wish there was 0 stars for this app

I wish there was 0 stars for this app. I also know writing this comment is a waste of time, but I need to vent somewhere.
- God forbid one needs to sign out from university's account and sign in with personal
- You need to use reference manager? Sorry ERROR - 55879846546876876. Restart and 1200 more restarts won't help.

Used to be good

Used to be good, now it's there just to make it hard for people to use. BibTex is literally plain text, so the functionality should be a cakewalk, yet somehow it manages get everything wrong and just when you think it can't get worse, they make an update to show off what other features they've managed to screw up. I feel like the local Gold Coast police station have taken control and a fat smelly one-finger-typer named Constable McDavid is now in charge. It's an utter embarressment and everyone involved should stub their toe everyday until they die.

Absolutely horrible experience.

Absolutely horrible experience.

Web importer is buggy, citation plug in for Word is *awful*... it duplicates citations in the same document, keeps 'ghost' citations after text is deleted, messes up formatting.... I have been using Mendeley for >10 years, and there was no problem until about a year ago. It is just not worth using now.

Completely Broken and Unuseable

Web Importer is completely broken and unuseable. The desktop app is also unbelievably glitchy and unreliable. I've had to switch to EndNote as it got so bad. Do not bother with this, there are far better options for citation tools than this one

Utterly useless

Kept deleting my references after a few hours and would randomly refuse to even sort some references into collections.

Difficult to control own files

After years without much use, I am now returning, and faced the new nasty philosophy of Mendeley. Before, I could download my entire library of pdf file. Now, however, I can only download one by one. Still have access to the files, yes, but clearly they make it difficult for the user to control the entire library. The files are mine, not theirs - this is a bad policy.

I was forced to move from Mendeley…

I was forced to move from Mendeley Desktop to Mendeley Reference Manager & Mendeley Cite. This has altered the formatting of the citations within my paper and has been an extremely frustrating transition overall. Very disappointed, really wish I could have just continued with Desktop.

Too many technical errors in the program

I have been using mendelay for some time now. The program it self is good when it works. The problem lies with the program having too many errors making it frustrating to work in. The list of problems i have encountered:

1. Notes and marks being deleted. Don't know when it happens but i am sure it happens as i have been trying to find sections in papers i know i have marked and noted.

2. The program crashing. It some times crashes all of a sudden when working.

3. When searching for a paper, it some times get stuck in the sentence i have searched and the only way to fix it is to close and reopen the program. This causes me to have to reopen all the papers i had open.

Suggestions for improvements beside fixing all the above mentioned errors.

1. making it possible to eddit placement/ order of the papers open in the program

2. notice when i am adding a paper that is already in added

I really hope they fix the program as it is a good program to work in, when it works. Though it is frustrating to use due to the errors.

I have never used a more glitchy softwear!

I have never used a more glitchy software in my life. Although the concept is good in theory, there have been so many times where annotations/ highlights were deleted after hours of work. The wrong article is shown when trying to select files. Forget about using the extension in chrome that only works 20% of the time. Absolutely infuriating, I would rather go back to my old method of doing my referencing by hand, at least it is reliable.
