⚠️ WARNING TO ANYONE BANKING WITH BANK…
⚠️ WARNING TO ANYONE BANKING WITH BANK OF AMERICA OR ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING THEM AS A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ⚠️
I was a Bank of America customer for more than 10 years. During that time, I trusted them with millions of dollars flowing through my accounts.
Then, without warning, my accounts were suddenly shut down.
I was given no meaningful notice, no reasonable opportunity to prepare, and no clear explanation that justified what happened. Even worse, Bank of America has held my funds for approximately four months, and as of today, I still have not received my money back.
Think about that.
You can bank with a company for more than a decade, keep substantial amounts of money with them, follow their processes, and still wake up one day to find your accounts closed and your money inaccessible.
This experience has caused serious disruption, stress, and financial damage. I never imagined that an institution I trusted for so many years could treat a longtime customer this way.
I am sharing this as a warning: do not assume your money will always be accessible simply because it is sitting in a major bank. Keep backup accounts, diversify where you hold your funds, maintain detailed records, and have a plan in place in case your bank suddenly decides to end the relationship.
This is my personal experience with Bank of America, and I would strongly encourage anyone using them—especially business owners—to protect themselves and seriously consider whether they want to continue trusting this bank with their money.
Bank of America, I am still waiting for the return of my funds and it has been over 4 months.

I've always been a Bank of America customer
I've always been a Bank of America customer, so this experience caught me completely off guard. Recently, I noticed a small but unfamiliar transaction on my credit card. Although the amount was small, it still caught my attention. I tried to check the details through the bank's app, but the transaction information was vague and lacked a clear explanation of its purpose. I thought a phone call would clarify things.
However, I was too optimistic.
The automated voice system drove me around in circles for a full 25 minutes. Every option seemed to lead me back to another menu, and getting to a live agent seemed impossible. What should have been a simple problem turned into an argument with the voice assistant—it was infuriating. Finally, I requested a callback, and thankfully, they did. The customer service representative who answered was polite, patient, and clearly understood my problem. Once I got to a live agent, things moved quickly; they explained the transaction and resolved the issue for me.
No customer service or loyalty
Went in to cash my bonds after many years with BOA commercial and personal accounts.
I forgot my drivers license and the wouldn’t help me. I went to Truist cashed bonds, came back to BoA with license and immediately closed all accounts . Bastards.

WORST BANK EVER
WORST BANK EVER. I recently got a Travel Rewards card and a few weeks into my trip I tried to use the card to purchase a flight. It was flagged as fraudulant for some unknown reason and the strange part is that they paid for 85% of the ticket and not the other 15%! I have never heard of this before. When I tried to contact them to resolve it they only allowed ONE form of verification which is a code sent though your phone number. I didn't have an international calling plan set up as I bought a local SIM card at my destination. I do have a google voice number though which they refused to use even though that number has been on file with them for the past 15 years!!! The only other way they offered was for me to go into a local branch... ummm, that is noT an available option, hello. They basically refused to verify me in any other hundreds of ways they could have and refused to help me solve my issue. So now I have no flight, no useable credit card, and no way to get it resolved. All for NO REASON. I should mention that I planning on being out of the country for 1-2 years and even when I tried to explain this to them and they were basically fine with not resolving the issue and leaving me stranded in another country with no credit card. That is UNACCEPTABLE. I can't tell you how infuriating it is to work with this bank. I will be closing my accounts immediately
I do not recommend this bank
I do not recommend this bank. They have taken money from me and as an overall bank, they are not a good bank. They are very disrespectful in the branch and still to the state they will not return my money.
Review for Bank of America:
Review for Bank of America:
⭐☆☆☆☆
I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 10 years, consistently making payments on time. Recently, while traveling abroad, I missed a payment of around $10 because I didn’t have regular access to my online account. To my shock, BofA closed my credit line without any prior notice via email.
I discovered this only when I tried to purchase a ticket. Despite attempting to resolve the issue through the mobile app and calling international support, I received no assistance. The customer service was unhelpful and informed me that they could not reopen my credit line.
To make matters worse, I am currently under a medical situation and desperately need access to my credit card, which is now closed. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with BofA’s lack of support and communication.

I have and account for years ,3 months ago they start taking out $12 dollars monthly fee is very disappointing & unfair, soon I will moved to a better bank .I give the a - -0
Don’t use boa credit card, ignorant cs
I’m traveling out of the country with boa travel card. First purchase was declined. They asked verification through sms / app, and I’ve verified it. They told me to retry the purchase. Second time failed again, and they completely blocked the card. I need to call their customer service.
so i called them (their international phone). 30 minutes later, they said they can’t fix it, and told me to call another phone number (which is only opened during business hours).
so i called the second time, 1 hr later, they said it was fixed.
i looked at my boa app, it says it’s still blocked. I thought it might need a while. 24 hr later, it was still blocked. Like hello????? Why did he say it was unblocked when it’s clearly isn’t.
Calling a third time, the solution offered was to visit a financial center for ID verification. I’m abroad, making this suggestion impractical and nonsensical. What’s the point of a travel card that can’t be used or fixed while traveling? Additionally, the time spent on hold with customer service has been a complete waste if no real assistance is provided. This has been a deeply disappointing experience.
I would give me a 0 star if I could
DISHONEST BANK OF AMERICA
Have been with bank of america since 1996. Anything over $1 was declined, check or card. In February they allowed an $8000 check to go through causing an overdraft of $4380!! They refused to correct it and when I complained (every month) they closed the account. Now they just took the overdraft from my other accounts!!
They are dishonest and someone had to have signed off on this overdraft. They are not for businesses, we had to scramble as this caused us to lose our malpractice insurance and we were threatened with closure. I am changing my accounts to a more honest bank. DO NOT BANK WITH BANK OF AMERICA
services are less and less
Have been using them since I was 19, services are less and less. There is not even a bank or ATM within 40 miles of my home. I guess it is time for a change
Pay attention
They no longer charge overdraft fees👍 they just block payment. In need of more training and courtesy
I have been a BofA customer since 1982
I have been a BofA customer since 1982. My business, that has been in operation for more than 40 year processes, our credit cards through BofA merchant services. Owner beware! BofA in collusion with AmEx stole 392.44 out of my business account....Do not under any circumstance take the American Express card at your business. After being a card member since 1988 and operating a business for the last 40 years American Express has stolen $392.44 out of my account based on a lie that we damaged someone's vehicle. No pictures, no repair estimate just we damaged the vehicle. If I damaged your vehicle would you be o.k. with me not getting paid? Hell no you would want your vehicle fixed. As would I. I have repeatedly tried to get some proof from BofA or AmEx of the alleged damage. BofA told me to take the owner to court? It is not my responsibility to take the CM to court for a payment I legally obtained - it is the CM responsibility to take me to court if I damaged their vehicle and didn't repair it.
This is fraud and B of A and AmEX are in collusion - at very least show the business owner a picture if they damaged the vehicle or how about a repair estimate. Crooks!
On March 28, 2022 we were called to remove a car that had been illegally parked. This was a legal impound, I have the authorization to impound, right of redemption and a copy of the invoice provided to Arshit the CM. Now before you think we are the bad guys here remember this guy was parked in someone's parking spot. When we were paid for our services Arshit paid with an American Express card and the chip was successfully read and the credit card processing center approved the charge. At this time the owner of the vehicle took delivery of the vehicle and drove off. I have provided pictures of the vehicle before we towed the vehicle date and geo stamped showing damage to the bumper and what appears to be radiator fluid leaking from the car before it was towed. On April 11, 2022 I was notified by Merchant Services at BofA that the card member was disputing the charge because, “not supposed to damage car”. My company disputes we caused any damage to the vehicle.
After providing my proof that the vehicle had already been damaged (including drainage under the front of the car before it was towed) I was initially credited back the money I was due. But wait a minute then Arshit the CM came back and said he signed the paperwork before he saw the car. O.k. but you would still go back in the office and say, "hey you damaged my car", right? Even if as he then said he didn't notice the damage until he got home, odd as he claims we damaged his radiator, wouldn't a light go on, wouldn't you take a picture? You mean Arshit who was born in 1990 didn't have his phone handy to shoot a picture of the damage? Is anyone but AmEx and B of A buying this? After Arshit came back and said he didn't notice the damage AmEx came back and stole the $392.44 again out of my account for a 2nd time without so much as a picture showing why they took the money or denied my proof. So the nuts and bolts are this....If you are a card member you can lie and be believed but if you take the American Express card and you can prove your case with pictures and documentation but they will still steal money. DO NOT TAKE AMERICAN EXPRESS CREDIT CARDS AT YOUR BUSINESS IF YOU WANT TO BE PAID!!! This statement is provided from a former American Express cardmember since 1988.
Acton MA branch
I needed to submit "customer removal" documents, to take my name off of a relative's checking and savings accounts at BOA. The documents require a notary, and were time sensitive.
I called the branch multiple times yesterday morning to ask if a notary was available. No one answered the phone. So I went to the branch, and was told (rudely) that maybe there would be an appointment for me sometime next week to submit the documents and have them notarized.
So, to do BOA business, you apparently can't do it at the Acton MA branch unless you have an appointment "maybe" next week.
BOA Better than Navy Federal Credit Union
Bank of America has been my chosen bank for years. I tried to go to Navy Federal Credit Union but they made me jump through hoops. BOA's apps work. Quicken imports work. The website works. Way better than Navy Federal Credit Union. Sure, the fees are higher but at least I do not have a sour taste in my mouth.
I've never had a problem
I've never had a problem, but wanted to reach out because I feel like the staff at my local branch is always friendly and its nice to have them greet me with a smile.
Bank of America Ended a relationship…
Bank of America Ended a relationship with me due to few return payments back in 2016 that didn’t belong to me I kept my credit card in good standing and I filed a company against them and there executives were rude to me and and took my $1300 I paid to them to zero out the credit card account and refused to reopen my credit card I told them I didn’t make those bogus payments and my online login passwords were hacked and they closed my account and and my checking accounts ... Will be suing them in small claims court soon
