This company is a massive scam and are now known as Online business sales because they have so many 1 star reviews! They don't sell your business they only make money from tricking you into signing a fraudulent contract....please stay away from them. If you have already signed and are having a nightmare with them then get yourself a good solicitor to threaten them and they should stop bullying you for money

Formerly known as Meridian, now trading as Online Business Sales – which makes you wonder why the name change was necessary. Perhaps the reviews speak for themselves.

In my opinion, this company does not appear to sell many businesses and instead relies on extracting money from people through unfair contracts.

This company is an absolute scam. Read the small print very carefully and do not be pressured into signing anything in a rush.

We lost our business due to Covid and were forced to close immediately. Because we were unable to give two months’ notice, we were issued with a bill of nearly £7,000. What followed was constant harassment and repeated threats of court action. I genuinely don’t know how this man sleeps at night.

After two years of stress and ongoing pressure, we eventually agreed to a settlement figure of £3,500 just to bring the ordeal to an end.

Avoid Meridian at all costs .. Ruthless

If I could give them zero I would. Also known as online business sales and Meridian.
Scammers, scammers, scammers.
They came to my small business and over priced it. The man said I guarantee to sell within the year. I signed up and never saw him again. Some years later they demanded a cancellation fee. I had a county court judgement against me, which I knew nothing about. The bailiffs then turned up at 6.30 am and demanded £3600 and I said I knew nothing about it. It ended up at just under £4500, which i had to pay.
Please avoid this company like the plague.

These people are scammers, I had my business up for sale with them for maybe 4 years they never sold it. so then they decide to withdraw my business and charge me for the privelige, At 2,555 which i didnt have I offered to pay monthly which they said they didnt do that, then they said they would except 2,000 if ,i paid in 4 weeks, then i got a letter from the courts, now with an CCJ im 63 never had one of these in my life, and just like i offered to pay so much a month that what the courts have decided<< if you have any sense at all you will stay well clear !!!

This company has now changed its name to OBS (online business sales) however the company number and director is the same.

They are scammers

THEY ARE SCAMMERS AVOID AVOUD AVOID !!!! they billed me over 8k for not doing anything at all after I sold my business through a proper agency. I did terminate my contract with them before selling my business and they did tell me that I can go ahead and sell my business on another agency and the will not demand any money however they billed me after 6 months of me selling my business. I did pay them another 1500 pounds on top of the termination fee. From 8k to 1500 pounds because I tolled them I'm out of business and have no savings and if they want they can take me to court all I can afford was to pay 1k and we agreed on 1500 pound after soo many emails.

i signed a contract 9 years ago to sell my business in that 9 years they never sent one potential buyer. the business was also reduced a lot through the years,
i finally sold with another estate agent
the fees were good for what they did.
I phoned maridian/obs a few years ago asking if i took it off the market what was my fee it was £1500 which i thought was ok,
then within a week of selling my business they sent me a bill for £9600
i was very shocked
after phoning them they said because i had not told them it was in the process of selling the fee applied
i got legal advice but because they had advertised for us we had to pay.
i did managed to get it down to £8600
i would stay away from this company at all cost

Scam, sign the paperwork, and you owe them for life, business failure, sale to an in-house member of staff.. they just hound you.. for their fat payday

If I could give Meridian 0 stars I would, they are a scam company who have absolutely no morals or compassion at all. Do not put your business up for sale with them. We had our business up for sale with them for 4 years and only had a handful of viewers and only once we demanded that they drastically reduced the price as it was way over priced.

Unfortunately due to Covid our business suffered and we took the devastating decision to liquidate the company and close down. Meridian then decided that because we had not sold the business that we were out of our contract and that we owed them £7000!!! They said that I had signed as personal guarantee, which I had no idea that I had and if I didn’t pay they would take me to court! Because they had a signed contract they had me over a barrel and so we’ve had to pay. Lost our business and livelihood and now this on top too. Absolutely vile company. Avoid them at all costs and find a company that actually work for their money to sell your business.

Avoid, AVOID, Avoid, AVOID, choose someone else, anyone else, google them, do your research first.
Whatever you do, DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!!
If you want advice from a previous customer JUST SAY NO!
It will cost you if you don’t !!!!
Worst experience of my life with any company. Let’s put it this way, I feel duty bound to protect anyone else from experiencing what I did.
Keep away, don’t bother, look after yourself and don’t give them the privilege of taking your hard earned money!
There are lots of elements I have left out of this review, ask yourself why, why would I not say what I actually want to ?
Be very very very careful & please do you’re research!

Excellent service provided by Meridian Business Sales who sold my cafe last Friday. Very professional and helpful and very patient with me explaining everything so I was comfortable with the whole process. Looking forward to retirement and would recommend Meridian business sales to anyone looking to sell
