I had an awful experience with Merityre in Thame earlier this week. They were due to replace my two front tyres however I got a call from the mechanic (Avas)saying they couldn't find the locking wheel nut, so I explained to him where it is located within a certain compartment but he was adamant it wasn't there. I then spoke to another mechanic who also said there was no false floor in the compartment. Their solution for the problem was to charge me £100 to cut off the locking wheel nuts - it felt more like a scam and them trying to get more money from me.
In the end I had to go back down to the garage, and surprise surprise, the locking wheel nut was in the exact place I was explaining.
With me being on the phone to them multiple times, having to go down and show them where the wheel nut was, then having to get a lift down when the tyres were finally repaired, I missed an entire afternoon of work.
I am still in disbelief that two 'trained' mechanics could be so incompetent that they could not find a locking wheel nut which was in the correct location as per the manual.

I have just got back from Merityre St Johns (Woking). My cars tyre pressure warning light was on and didn't go even after topping up the air yesterday and driving a bit. I was dreading it as a woman on my own, who clearly doesn't know about cars. I assumed I'd be ripped off. They were great. I was there for an hour. They fixed the slow puncture and didn't try and charge me for stuff I didn't need. It only came to £24. The main fella was kind and even helped me park. I went and had a cup of coffee and a tea cake at the local cafe while I waited and pottered in two little ducks gift shop. It was actually a great morning. I am 100% going back for my service and MOT!!! It's great to have a safe space as a woman. Add them to your keep list. ❤️

We were miles away from home and hearing a rumbling noise limped off of the M4 and thankfully into a nearby lay-by to discover a flat tyre. While I fiddled around with the tyre repair kit thing (no spare) my wife looked into finding the nearest tyre centre. We were very pleased to find Merityre at Wantage which was a few miles up the road and Sam there was very helpful in confirming that had a new tyre in stock. We limped (again) into Wantage. A cheerful Sam met us on arrival and got everything sorted for us. A new tyre was fitted in about a half hour. The whole set up there was very friendly and very professional. Merityre at Wantage made a very stressful situation for us much more manageable. Thanks to Sam and his team for getting us out of a muddle and on our way quickly.

27th Jan. Supplier didn’t deliver the tyres to the Kingston Branch in time for my MOT retest later that day. Head office and the regional manager took ownership of the problem and went the extra mile by personally moving stock from Basingstoke to Kingston. It is much appreciated and I can legally drive my car this weekend!

Always 5 star service at the Thame branch. Never go anywhere else for tyres. And if they can repair they will. Never rip you off. Brilliant.

Went to Woking branch and spoke to the manager Dave. I left work to find I had a flat tyre which I managed to get air in and because I needed the car for work at 5 am in the morning I drove straight to knaphill to ask if it could be repaired. They were very busy but Dave got me slotted in and although it cost me a new tyre I am very grateful. Dave was as usual very polite and explained it would be a wait of about an hour and a half. I waited and left very happy. Great service (as always) and all staff were very busy. I would definitely recommend and will continue using this branch myself

Super chuffed with the service at Sunbury branch. Repaired a puncture that other garages including Landrover dealership said couldn't be done and to buy a new tyre.
Many thanks to both Hayden & Rob for their help...most valued and appreciated.

I visited the Purley branch again. This time to sort out my tyre pressure sensors. And again David did a first class job in rectifying the issues! I don't live on their doorstep but it's worth travelling a few extra miles for such a great service!
Thanks guys! 👍

My sister had a Kwik Fit disaster after being fleeced there and being asked for more to fix their problem I called my mechanic who recommended the Marlow branch. Called them and got a booking for the next day to replace a broken TPMS. they then warned her that the rear tire was at 6mm and would need replacing soon, These were bought from Kwik Fit only a day previously. So Fantastic service great advice thank you for fixing the Armatures mistakes. (She got her refund and a new tire) I think we have found our new tire shop.
Today was my return visit to the branch in Witney. I returned to the branch due to my service I had from John. I felt very confident with the information he provided, hence my revisit to have my brakes checked. This time I was seen by Richard Mills. And again an outstanding service. This clearly wasn’t a coincidence that customer service is high on the agenda. These guys really know their stuff and will certainly be getting my custom going forward. Give them a call. They will definitely give you confidence again in high street garages!!!!!!

I called merityre in Hook on Saturday to ask about repairing a slow puncture. I was told by Barry to come on Monday. I was initially surprised as Monday is a bank holiday but Barry (if it's his real name) told me they are open on bank holiday Monday, and guess what? They are closed...
I should have been less trusting as Barry was pretty rude on the phone.
That's the second time I have problems with these people, the last time they fitted budget tyres on my car when I specifically asked for premiums. I thought it was a genuine mistake, but I now don't think it was.
This branch is manned by careless people.

I booked tyres to be fitted (via Black Circle) at Meri Tyre and needed the tyres fitted, due to hospital appointments for my critically ill husband; Meri Tyres cancelled the job because they were busy and I was offered a link to re-book, for 5 days later, which didn't work. I rang Meri tyres, who blamed Black Circle, stating they hadn't delivered, they told me they would do the job if I purchased the tyres through them. I explained about needing to urgently get to hospital appointments and that I didn't want to pay twice for the tyres and fitting. When I spoke to Black Circle, I found out that Meri Tyres had cancelled and have booking problems. So, Meri Tyres were really unhelpful and just lied, passing the buck. Black Circle were amazing and I re-booked through them to go to a garage that doesn't mess customers around AND was actually cheaper anyway than Meri Tyres. Avoid Meri Tyres if you don't want to be lied to and messed around!

Went into the marlow branch to have the aircon regassed today. Really friendly service and did an excellent job. Aircon now better than when new.
Very professional service.
I went here for motorcycle tyre's a few years ago, to start with they were good there was a guy who worked there who knew what he was doing and did a good job. One day I went there for two tyre's on my bandit, they put some half wit on it who used a wind gun and stripped the threads from the brake caliper. After spending some time waiting, they said would it be ok to use a nut and bolt to secure the brake caliper as the threads had stripped, thinking this was a temporary fix and they would sort it, no this is how it was left, not only that but they buckled the front brake disc's. A very expressive day for me, I would recommend you go to someone who knows what they are doing and if things go wrong they at least put it right
Hi Dene
Thanks for your reply this would have been in about 2008. I guy behind the counter was David Williams he told me while undoing the brake caliper the threads stripped, I don't think it happened then, it was when the lad tried to put it back together with the wind gun. I knew something had gone wrong because I was waiting for about 3 hours for 2 tyres to be fitted. When I took it to my local bike garage for the MOT it failed because the front brake discs had been warped. I also learned from the garage David Williams had called to ask how they could get over the brake caliper issue, they told him a nut and bolt would be a solution. When David spoke to me I thought this was a temporary fix and they would arrange for the damage they had caused to be put right. When I left I didn't get a receipt for the tyres, I wrote a letter to them and was fobbed off, so I wrote another one which didn't get a reply. Since then I have had somewhere between 30-50 tyres which I have purchased from elsewhere. I don't think I need to explain to you, this shoddy ness was somewhat short sighted. I live by the principal if you make a mistake, put your hands up to it and put it right, had that of been the case I would still be dealing with you.

I can't fault Merit customer services phoning me before regarding tyre ordered, but sadly rather slow (not that busy when arrived & 90 minute plus wait) /below standard service at garage later on. I have been to Merits before & can't remember this problem, only with another garage approx 20 years ago. Only went there for one tyre replacement + tracking check. Then disppointment later when I drove home. I could see my steering wheel was not 100% straight/might only be minor, but I could clearly see it was not entirely straight when focusing on dash area (as before having tracking done - it was perfect before!). Although after returning they quickly adjusted steering, there was not really any apology/I felt as if I was the one at fault wasting their time, plus extra time wasted (for the customer). Currently waiting to hear further from their head office to investigate . . . Just glad there are other garages in the area to choose. Cars! Never a dull moment!
An update: Thankfully complaint now resolved by head office/local branch.

Purley-on-Thames: took the car in for free tracking check, after I'd had two new front tyres fitted elsewhere.
They tested the wheels and said that all was OK and no adjustments needed. So free of charge.
Very impressed with the honesty of the garage.
First class!
