Meter box arrived and didn't have a chance to open it for a day or two. When I did it turned out there was a massive crack in the corner but they only accept returns if reported in the first 24 hours. Waste of time and money.

received a product with what seems to boot polish or some oily black substance in the bag with the item...which was a latch. They did not respond to emails.
I recently brought the following item:
Mitras Brown Recessed Electricity Meter Box Door - IS0052. Supplied with latch and pin hinges fitted.
The door was not worth the price of £43.09.
1. It did not fit properly - the top hinge slotted in nicely, but the bottom hinge did not; consequently. I had to saw off a bit of the casing.
2. The latch did not work properly - the spring did not allow the latch to engage with the slot on the casing. I had to remove the latch spring for the door to be able to close.
3. The final finish was not impressive - it was not uniformly coloured and in the bottom right hand corner there was a light coloured patch that looked as if someone had painted it with a paintbrush. In fact, the door looked secondhand.
I didn't bother to return it because the length and width were correct, and I couldn't leave the meter without a door. Anyway, I have no guarantee that the replacement door would be better.
Great after sales service. The hinges on my meter box were damaged by vandalism and I rang this company for help and advise, nothing was too much trouble for them and my problem is now fixed, thanks Richard
