Useless

I waited for 2 weeks for my card pin number only to be told they haven't ordered one!!!!
I asked to speak to a manager no one available but told one would phone me.
Guess what no one phoned!!!!
I'm closing my account can't cope with this anymore!!!!!!

From Hero to Zero - Totally Useless Now!

Been a business customer for a few years but I can’t now leave fast enough!

Waited for 40 minutes yesterday to get someone on the phone to make a transfer for me. Yes FORTY minutes that I will never get back and then before I get someone the call dropped!

Utterly Useless for a business.

Clearly this ship is sinking fast so get out now while you can!

And the sad thing is they used to be so good!!

Opened a Metro Bank business account on…

Opened a Metro Bank business account on 23 March 2026 and am still waiting for the debit card over two months later.

I contacted customer services in April and was told it would be issued within two weeks. After chasing again in May, I was assured it would be issued, yet there is still no sign of it.

The most impressive part is that the monthly account maintenance fees are deducted without any delay whatsoever. Unfortunately, the debit card required to actually use the account appears to be operating on a different timetable.

At present, this is less of a business bank account and more of a storage facility for money. If your business intends to make payments, purchases, or generally function as a business, you may wish to manage your expectations.

Reading branch terrible service

Came to Reading branch to finalise new completed mandate and told will be 40 minute to an hours wait. Two cashiers, hardly any customers and one cashier staring at his screen. Another chap floating doing not a lot and meet and greet chap disappointed everyone with news of delay. So 40-60 minutes before I’m seen then on previous experience another 40-60 minutes with person. Fortunately I came with drink but looks like I’ll need lunch.
Researching other banks as going to transfer account as service atrocious.

There customer service helpline is a joke and isnt even part of Metro as they thought they had branches in Holland!!!!

Metro Bank is now breaching business and customers confidentiality

Metro Bank is now breaching business agreement by going through their customers account to see how their business/ investment funds is been spent,

They are reviewing business spending and transaction and asking the company to provide confidential company documents to justify the business payment and spending as evidence after the payment reference articulates the reasons for the transaction that was made over the phone with their customer representative.

This is the responsibility of the company's accountant and not Metro Bank.

They are racially profiling the company's business spending based on the company directors name without any governmental regulation to back up their activities. This is a breach of company's legality to operate as a limited liability under the Company House guideline. This is intrusive and abuse of the banking power. It is interfering with Limited Liability Company business affairs.

Highly disappointing and appalling.
This bank can not be trust and their service quality is becoming appalling. I will not recommend Metro Bank for any Business service.

Bristol branch metro bank

Bristol branch.. staff were so helpful when me and my sister were setting up a joint account followed by scanning all docs to set up a trust account. Special thanks to Haleema for making it as straightforward as possible and explaining every step, even helping us set up the app on our phones. Highly recommend.

Staff know what they are doing

It is quick and easy to make an appointment witha business manager and at all our meetings the individual has come prepared and interested in our company and how we work. All our contact with managers and indeed all staff has been positive. We find that Metro are more than just a banking facility, they are supportive and always friendly

One of the worst customer service…

One of the worst customer service experiences I have had in a bank.

The female staff member who dealt with us was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and displayed a poor attitude from the start. We were kept waiting multiple times, yet there seemed to be no real effort to address or resolve the issue we had come to the branch for. Instead of listening and helping, she came across as uninterested, impatient, and unwilling to provide even a basic level of customer service.

What was most frustrating was the complete lack of professionalism and respect. Customers should not feel like they are a nuisance for asking for assistance, yet that is exactly how we were made to feel. The interaction left us feeling ignored, frustrated, and disappointed.

A bank's reputation depends heavily on the way its staff treat customers, and this experience fell far below any reasonable standard. I sincerely hope management investigates and addresses the customer service issues at this branch, because no customer should be treated in this manner.

I gave the highest score for opening a business account with Metro Bank because the entire experience was efficient, professional, and genuinely stress-free. The process was explained clearly from start to finish, communication was prompt, and everything was handled with care and attention to detail.
A special mention goes to Haleema from Bristol Branch, who made the whole process incredibly smooth. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very supportive throughout, ensuring that every step was straightforward and easy to understand. Her excellent customer service and proactive approach made a real difference and left a very positive impression.

Good in branch support, not good live chat though

Overall, metro bank is a good bank. I LOVE that its one of the last banks that actually has humans in person when you visit a branch instead of relying on only machines like Barclays.

The only thing that isn't the best is the live chat in app, the wait times are long, and the agents in app arent very helpful compared to the staff in the branches which have always been very helpful.

Don’t even bother trying to use this…

Don’t even bother trying to use this bank. It’s a nightmare to even open an account and the whole experience of dealing with them has raised my blood pressure and probably affected my mental health. There are plenty of other banks and I strongly suggest you try them first.

Booked into Open a Business account

Booked into Open a Business account. Sushan Gurung was great in helping us through the process. Took around 2 hours and account was open within a few days. Fairly straight forward when compared to opening account with another bank. Service was Excellent. Sushan's customer service was great..

My card was stolen on the 7th of April…

My card was stolen on the 7th of April £300 stolen from the ATM after a while Metro said they will favour me and give me back the money they took the temporary payment back on the 17th of April but 4 weeks ago they said i STILL owed them the £250 again after a week of stacks of phone calls again I was assured that I didn't owe the money and the agent I spoke to again assured me that the case was closed now Thursday the 7th of May my account went £248 overdrawn which now means that when my pension credit goes into into my account Monday (i get paid weekly) I'll have nothing to live on as I'm a 69yr oap living alone with I'll health issues went to Metro yesterday and they are now claiming through the fraud team that the fraud was rejected that's 3 different story's by 3 different departments fraud, disputes, and Croydon Metro i hope they are proud of themselves ,I've just checked my statements for April and May now after metro said they take my side on the fraud they claim that they paid me twice once for temporary and once for the fraud now they took back the temporary payment which i don't dispute but on the 7th of May they took a second payment claiming I've been paid 3 times which is FALSE
