absolutely amazing service!!!

These movers were absolutely amazing!! I worked with them. All these guys were totally professional, fast and efficient. They were incredibly careful with my belongings. I could not be happier with how it went.

Do not trust these people

As I write this, we are still awaiting Metropolitan Movers. They were supposed to show up between noon and one o'clock. They phoned at 1:15 to say they'd be an hour late. One hour later we phoned back and they said relax, we'll be there. At 4 PM, I got on the phone to try and sort this out.

Thing is that I was organizing the movers for my 21 y.o. daughter, to get her help in moving out of her student apartment and drive back home, from Ottawa to Fredericton. So, when they're calling, they're talking to her and then she calls them back to no avail, until she can get a hold of me, at the end of the day.

When I speak to them on the phone, it's a repeat of what I got a glimpse of when they called to confirm the move: they can't speak English, they're hard to understand and nothing is clear between those phone numbers they give you and their supposed crew manager (Johnny) and this Edward guy at the office...

Anyhow, it' past five o'clock now and I called another moving company: Two Small Men with Big Hearts. Well believe it or not, while I'm on the phone with him, Raymond (from 2 Small Men...) asks me to hold, takes another call and comes back saying: "You won't believe this. This call was from a lady from Kingston, in a panic. She was awaiting... Metropolitan Movers for her move since early on in the morning!"

Well a Rotten Christmas to you Metropolitan Movers! Oh, and I forgot to mention: all afternoon between 4 and 5 trying to get through to someone, being put on hold, hitting the voice message or simply hung up on... They told me that Johnny would call me to explain. And then, when he did not call, they said it was because I was on the phone with them when really I was calling them from my office phone and Johnny had my cell phone number.

In the end, I just saved 85$/month on the storage fee that Metropolitan Movers was charging me (220$ vs 135$/month). So that's my reward. That and knowing that I can give them what they deserve on a public forum. Those other reviews for 5-Stars by John and a bunch of Indian names? Must be fakes by the owners.

Our move was very smooth

Our move was very smooth. Metropolitan team arrived slightly later than scheduled but they had called us to let us know. We were very pleased by their work, professionalism and expertise. Thank you!

Worse Moving Experience Ever (Condo 1+ den from North York to Mississauga)

What a NIGHTMARE.

Details of my Moving Experience:
Let me preface by saying, you would do a much better job of moving by yourself than hiring these people. Prior to my move with Metropolitan Movers, I emailed the owner a detailed and thorough list of all my furniture with the dimensions to the best of my ability so I can be quoted most accurately on the cost for my moving job. I was quoted 3-4 hrs max. The job took over 9.5 hrs and yes I was charged for the full 9.5hrs.

Quality of Service:
+From the beginning of the move, the 2 men sent for the job were unprofessional: they kept fighting in front of me, and flirting with the customer. I had to reschedule the elevator with great difficulty since I missed my reserved window, needless to say how frustrating and almost impossible that process was.

+ The owner knew this job was not getting done right and in a timely fashion - he showed up at the scene. The movers showed up to the new condo 3 hours late. The owner mentioned they were newly hired – which explains the lack of quality provided. The unloading process started to drag. Elevators that were reserved for the move started to smell like weed.

+ I had to call family members to come help me with the move as it was getting late.

+ END RESULT: moving day began at 9am and ended way past midnight with close to $2000 of damaged furniture.

Major Mistakes:
+ I was wrongly quoted for this moving job, despite my thorough email with all items to be moved -- a mistake on the owner's part that he needs to take accountability for.
+The hired movers were unprofessional in their behaviour and the way they handled my furniture.
+ The movers broke the following items: the display panel of my TV - I got a third party professional company come to certify that the damages were caused by the movers and that my TV is irreplaceable and cannot be fixed. See attachment for pictures. They broke half of my wine glasses, book shelves, and the legs of my wardrobe so the whole thing collapsed. All of these damages cost me close to $1500 to replace. Proof for all damages can and will be provided in court.
+ Worse of all: the receipt I was given was supposedly the contract. I was lied to, and cheated by the mover – he checked off all the boxes on the bottom that covers Metropolitan Movers from any damages without my consent!!
+ I tried to resolve this with the owner the very next day and was blown away by his lack of cooperation and responsibility for his movers' actions. If you make a mistake you take accountability for it. He stated that he already processed the payment through his insurance and there is nothing he can do about it.
+ I want my money back. I want all damages to be paid for as well, and I will fight for it and more.
+ I also feel like Metropolitan Movers falsely advertise themselves online - what you read on the website in terms of quality of service and accuracy is far from reality and is very misleading.
+ And yes I plan on suing them.

Love

If you need a reputable moving company, stop looking. You've found them.My experience was great. We had a last minute need for a labor only job.They were awesome movers and were super patient and nice. Customer service and professionalism was on point. They helped turn a stressful situation into a good day.

Experience what the worst is

Do you want to be upset? Please go ahead with Metropolitan Movers.
'Worst' is too good to them. They lie. They came lately. Not one or two hours. Your elevator will end when they arrive to the destination. They work slow. You have to move your big stuffs to save time. They charge min 3 hrs. Their homepage is fake. Visit the address in homepage, you'll know.
They said their HQ is in Phillippines!!!!!! Yes, lie of course. Worst of the worst. No other movers like these guys in the earth. Bad people.
Please don't be fool.

The movers were fantastic

The movers were fantastic - super fast, careful, and extremely nice. Jay was very organized and the whole move (an entire apt) was done in under 3 hours, which I didn't realize was possible.

I reached out to Metropolitan Movers …

I reached out to Metropolitan Movers because another company I use to move was not available to move me in my course on a short notice. They helped me with booking, packing and unpacking as well. The movers knew what they were doing and the manager phoned me to make sure it went well. I am certainly satisfied with their service. this company is highly recommend

I was very impressed

I was very impressed with the professionalism and work ethic of Metropolitan Movers provided. I would recommend it to anyone I know. They have an extremely fair price and have moved all my possessions in a timely manner. Thank you for making the transition as well as possible.

Where to begin

Where to begin, the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with . Like previous reviews they showed up late , carried a few boxes then left to go get food and drinks for 40 minutes. Took forever to pack truck ( granted it was a bigger move) when I asked why there were only two men ( hard to understand them as their English wasn't very good ) apparently customer service never told them all of the furniture/ boxes involved. . I'll skip ahead I had asked them to please not remove drawers from bedroom furniture as they are on stoppers and were empty . Well you guessed it they removed them and now I'm stuck with a 3000 dollar bedroom set that has lopsided drawers. They scratched the top of my great grandmother dining table , my entertaining center. None of my clearly stated boxes were placed in the room it was intended for ( I had to leave as I was late for work as this took entirely way to long ) I have picture documenting all of this and they want to refund me 150 .00 while yelling in another language at me ! Save yourself the trouble and use anyone else

Worst custmer service ever…

I hired Metropolitan movers 2 months ago for my move on July 20th 2017.
On the 19th I was told they would arrive between 9-10 am. On the 20th at 9:50 am they called to say it would be between 11-12. I called customer service to ask why & was told they put another move in first. I told the agent that he should change the recording that says 100% satisfaction & stress free move he said that was only my opinion. He was the most un professional customers service agent and had a very cocky attitude. at 12:15 still no movers so I called and asked to speak to the customer service manager it was the same person I spoke to the first time he was the manager. I asked to speak to his boss & was told his boss dose not take calls so I asked for his name, he refused to give me his bosses name. I told him I was not happy with the service & I would not write a favourable review his attitude was that that was my choice & he really did not care. Not once did anyone from customer service ever apologise for the inconvenience. The movers finally showed up at 1:50 pm thank god they were professional & polite. It was the only redeeming quality of this company. Once this company had my credit card info. they held us hostage & did not care about customer service at all I was told if I cancelled they would charge a minimum of $150.00.
I would never recommend this company again

Worst Service Experience in Canada

These people are a phenomenal level of unprofessional. I absolutely will not recommend this company especially if you are in the Halifax region. They didn't bother wrapping up any of my furniture and promptly proceeded to keep bashing it against several surfaces. I had to plead with then to assemble any furniture despite the fact that they hadn't even worked for the three hour minimum that they bill you for. The highlight of the move was when I pointed out the extensive damage to a very expensive table. They took pictures and the head of the Halifax branch promised me that he has gone down to my furniture company and personally ordered the identical table. He will have it delivered within a week. It's been well over a month and he refuses to answer my calls and I certainly don't have a table. The real kicker is the company hasn't even sold the table in over two years. Upon calling Metropolitan movers, they initially told me to deal with it directly with my mover and now they claim my complaint has expired. My biggest regret is not blocking the credit card payment as soon I saw the damages.
