I have placed an order last year and another order this year. All chicks show up next day, safetly packed, and both batches have been the correct order with healthy chicks. They have a great variety and low minimums.

I ordered 6 silkies and chose to participate in the meal maker program…all 7 chicks arrived well before USPS said which I was happy about. I was still worried since we had a heat watch that week. All 7 seemed ok but one seemed sluggish. Omgosh I gave them the water supplement bought from Meyer for the first week. All of them have flourished and three weeks later here we are!! My “meal maker” is their lil protector and I hope it stays that way lol…they are all so very healthy and are doing amazing!!! I will definitely be back for more!! I love this hatchery and can’t say enough about their breeding, care and shipping process ❤️ I’m excited to share eggs with the community with this program ❤️ thank you!

I have used Meyer Hatchery many times in the last several years. I started using them because of their low quantity minimums during the warmer months of the year. I am a chicken collector, meaning that out of 24 chickens, I have 24 different breeds. Have I gotten a couple of roosters? Yes. Have a few died during or right after shipment? Yes. But this is unfortunately to be expected. I have always understood that sexing accuracy is about 90% and once these chicks leave the hatchery, they are handled by sometimes several post offices and carriers. That is out of the Hatchery's control. But, in every situation, I have been refunded for a deceased chick or for my rooster when following the timing guidelines.

I have only received great customer service from Meyer. I have had a very sick chick that fully recuperated after the guidance I received.

I have been raising chickens for over 10 years, but sometimes I do have questions, and I appreciate that I can call, chat or email and I always get prompt answers to my questions. I will continue to order from Meyer.

We have bought about 4 batches of chicks. The first three have been excellent with no issues. No dead babies on arrival or after and the batches are alive and well to this day. Our last batch had a very expensive baby die on arrival. They were quick to refund us. Then we lost another chick several days later to which they still gave us a refund due to our long relationship. Overall we are very happy with the quality we receive and the customer service. My only hope would be for them to vaccinate the chick with Coccidiosis vaccine.

This company is shady and straight up a scam. I placed an order in immediately due to reasons I could not hatch the eggs immediately after placing the order requested to be canceled. They insist on a cancellation fee so they can keep my money they refuse to refund the full amount, which no company on no company real company does upon order cancellations. This is despite absolutely nothing being fulfilled on their side since it was an immediate cancellation and this is just downright wrong way to do business. I’ll never purchase from them again and I suggest no one purchase from them.

All 12 chicks alive and stout! Good size and activity! Packaging was better than any I've had with other online companies.
Prices were so reasonable as well as minimum quantities required.
I really couldn't be any happier! Will recommend to everyone to shop here!

I wanted to share my experience with Meyers Hatchery. Unfortunately, we've lost seven out of the twenty chicks we received so far. I've taken great care of them, and they've been treated like pets. I've even spent the last three nights holding them until their last moments. It's been a really difficult experience. I would highly discourage anyone from ordering from them.

I just received 42 chicks from them, all alive and healthy they shipped for 2 days, they had great communication with me about my order answered all my questions that I had. Tracking was easy when they were shipping I was able to see where they were at all times! Will order from them again! Highly recommend them! Thank you!

I've ordered chicks, from Meyers many times, never a problem. Customer service outstanding, chicks outstanding, service awesome. Couple of weeks ago, I ordered chicks again, was ask, several times, if I needed anything else, even got a text thanking me for a order. Last time, I had placed a order with another hatchery, waited 4 months, when arrival date came, they never bothered to even call, or send email, chicks were not coming. Tried 2 give them another chance, sent a email, asking questions, regarding there birds, took 2 wks, before got a email back. If my orders, aren't worth a return call or email, I don't need there birds. MEYERS HATCHERY, is the very best

3 weeks ago we ordered 5 eggs to surprise my autistic child with for Christmas. She lost her Green Queen hen last month and has been beyond devasted. The hens did not supply the eggs for the first shipping day. We waited a week. I let them know several times how important this was for us. The eggs shipped on the 10th and the tracking stopped on the 11th. By the 16th I was asking them what to do, we needed some eggs by Christmas, they said they couldn't do anyting until the end of the day on the 17th. Still no eggs on the 17th. They then tell me its too late to ship any now until Jan 7th!!!!!!!! They could have told me this on the 16th so I could order more to ship on the 17th and hope for Christmas. I begged them to help me with this and they refused any kind of help. I am livid. My child is bawling. I have nothing good to say about this company and it's customer service workers. Horrible customer service!!

The first time I had a problem with them was when they sent my 4 chicks and all 4 were dead within 12 hours 2 were basically dead upon arrival. They did the right thing and replaced them but then I had to argue with them as one of the chicks I ordered was no longer available and they were going to substitute it with another one. After a very long back and forth I finally got hem to send me the main chick breed I wanted. This time I ordered green queens and the site does say they can be a variety of colors never said black was an option no pictures of black ones or anything. Black is not a color it’s the absence of color. I understand some people will say black is a color and all that but my main issue is the wording and pictures are very deceitful!

They refuse to do anything to make this right. I have ordered a fair amount of chicks from them and planned to continue but I won’t anymore

I am very disappointed in my experience with Meyers Hatchery. All birds arrived alive. So things started well. I believe the last time we ordered chicks from a different place one arrived dead. But I understand that while tragic, the experience may be traumatic and not all birds make it. These ladies arrived fine.

We noticed pasty butt after a day on one of them. I looked it up and it was something that was normal. We kept her clean. Then the next day another developed pasty butt. Google said to put apple cider vinegar in the water. So we did.

By the weekend another bird (that didn't have pasty butt) was found dead in the morning.

Yesterday a second bird started looking lethargic and she has now died.

I am sad for the loss but concerned about the others we have in the brooder and ones that came from the hatchery and sent to other homes.

I called this morning and the blame was focused on me saying they don't have any other reports of sick birds and that it was something that I did. Despite the fact that we ordered 18 birds and only some of them (same colors) are experiencing symptoms.

They indicated that it was because of the apple cider vinegar despite most of the birds thriving fine with it.

I will never order from here again. I expected to be taken seriously and I was shrugged off.

We went with this hatchery because they have a neat looking breed I was interested in. But I will go back to what we used before if we need to order chicks again.

Meyer Hatchery says they guarantee the sex of their birds. They use the vent sexing method but this doesn't work, and is not appropriate, for bantam breeds such as silkies. They are much too tiny to vent sex and it is actually dangerous to do so. This is absolutely FALSE ADVERTISING! They allow returns for mis-sexed silkies, but you have to wait at least 19 weeks and you may or may not get your money back. Unsuspecting buyers have no idea that YOU CAN'T VENT SEX ANY BANTAM BREED.

I have ordered from Meyer Hatchery several times and have always been impressed by the quality of the chicks and the EXCEPTIONAL customer service. They are available to help seemingly any time of day or night to assist with order changes, adjustments, or even random chicken questions. I love how healthy and productive all my hens have been from Meyer. Out of 16 chickens ordered, I only ever received 1 accidental rooster and they made it right with ZERO hesitation.

If you are looking for a hatchery that not only provides the highest quality chicks, but goes above and beyond to provide unwavering support, then this is the hatchery for you!

I bought three types of ducks from Meyer Hatchery and within 18 months - half died from bone cancer, eggs being stuck and water belly. All genetic disorders, all expensive medical costs and all painful disorders! So when I called customer service they thought that was "normal" since most people do not have their ducks longer than a year and a half?! Basically you are buying Sickly Ducks. I went to Another Hatchery...their ducks were so much healthier, right from the beginning the feathers were shinier and their energy vigorous. So DO NOT BUY from Meyer Hatchery you are getting sickly unhealthy fowl.

I’ve ordered many, chicks from this Hatchery and I love everything about it, except for the fact that I get too many Roosters. To get credit for them you have to jump through a lot of hoops and take a bunch of pictures to prove you aren’t lying—like a tax audit! Not worth the fight anymore. Next season, I’ll try a different hatchery and see if I have better luck.

Very long story short: Ordered 30 Buff Orpington hatching eggs from Meyer. (First time I have ordered from them but am a lifelong chicken raiser and hatcher.) Arrived with 9 broken. (They did refund the broken eggs.) After candling almost half of the ones left were not viable. When they finally hatched only 2 were alive, and THEY WERE BLACK! Very definitely and obviously NOT Buff Orpingtons at all. The dead embryos were also black. At this point they are trying to give me a refund for only the 2 live black chicks, when in truth the whole shipment was obviously the wrong breed. I will happily amend this review when and if they refund the entire order, but otherwise, I will not every be using this hatchery again.

Addendum: The company finally came through and refunded the entire shipment because the wrong breed was sent. Just a note...if I ordered from Meyer again I would take more photos of all the eggs with their identifying stamps, as well as at various stages. Apparently my eggs WERE stamped as Buff Orpingtons, but were not.

I bought 16 hatching eggs and followed strictly the process with an expansive egg hatching machine.
After 26 days I just got 3 chicks born.
One of the 13 others was formed but dead in the egg and the 12 others were not fecundated.
It means like I just have bought eggs at the store to use them to cook.
I asked for a refund and was told that "it is the risk".
I do not accept that like a risk but like a fraud, because my eggs were not controlled before to be sent.
I paid each egg $3,24 and just got 3 baby chicks [the result for me is to have paid $23,71 for each of these 3 chicks].
That company is absolutely not serious and I would not encourage nobody to become their customer.
I took pictures of the disaster and will use them to file a complaint.

Exceptional selection,healthy chicks,when problems arise they really work to resolve them. I have had 2 shipments during the coldest months, 1st order 1 deceased,sent picture,got a refund and then they enailed to check at 48 hours.My second order all arrived healthy and alive. One of my first chicks turned out to be a cockrel,within 5 minutes of receiving pictures the refund was processing into my account. I have 2 more orders scheduled and changed one with ease. I have had nothing but great customer service

I ordered cornish cross chicks and all 25 of them arrived alive and healthy. Their customer service department is also great when asking questions and ordering. I will definitely be doing business with them again.
