Miro Journey
When I first started several years ago it was intuative and easy to learn and get used to. As Project Manager and Developer I used it for both faciliation, planning, documentation and wireframing data components.
As this yea more agentic features took center stage I haven't used Miro Board as much instead creating custom tools, but so far have not needed to change the Miro from stack as it also has great API to automate designing views and documentation that we can interact with visually.
Would wish there be some better team structures so that if multiple people have different organisation and already pay for Miro accounts, but we want to have more users in control we need to pay for more licenses, its standard module but lacks the feasibility for decentralization communities, so there is high likely hood people grow out of Miro Board and nowdays create their own environment instead.
The AI features haven't been quite useful for me from years ago or even now, but cool to see Miro is attempting to innovate
Pay Walls Upon Pay Walls
Miro was fine when we used it but it's the subscription model that really comes across slimey, like car salesperson slimey. You pay but there are still so many features still behind a pay wall. When you are adjusting things on the fly for a group workshop or presentation, it really is not helpful when all these pop ups show up in your face about how you need to pay extra, & you have no choice to do it because you are in the middle of a workshop or presentation. It's such an embarrassing thing to happen when this occurs in gthe middle of presentation or workshop. The tool actually becomes detrimental to producitvity. We've had to switch everything into another modelling tool.
Best for Project Management
I had a very good experience with Miro for project management. It is very good software for the same. Clear organization of information, effective and good collaboration among team members. Also, by working on one page easily identify how is how much have work, so you can be more productive. Very good Product; I recommend you go for it. Also, the subscription is not as costly as other competitors.
They didn't fold in all of the domains…
They didn't fold in all of the domains for my organization when we flipped from per user licensing to Enterprise. Our IT contracts support team kept escalating the issue given that we had many high profile project on the go. The response slow and they weren't able to hit the estimates they provided resolution time. The product itself is great but the support leave a lot to be desired.
Best tool I would say for brainstorming…
Best tool I would say for brainstorming and planning things. I have been using Miro from past 3 years and honestly speaking. This software is amazing! Never thought that this software can do much more than you think. Mindmaps, flows, MiroAI, integrations and so many other things
Misleading billing practices and unexpected fees
Their billing setup is terrible and feels very dishonest. They charge automatically for each new seat or user without clearly asking for approval first. It feels unfair and unfriendly to customers. There are many better alternatives that are much more transparent about pricing. Even worse, there doesn’t seem to be a way to remove your credit card from the account. I would strongly recommend avoiding this app.
Many options for designing miro boards…
Many options for designing miro boards , and many options are available for free without a subscription. 100% reccomend this.
Predatory billing and zero administrative control.
Our firm recently evaluated Miro for cross-departmental collaboration on several multi-million dollar architectural blueprints. While the core functionality of the digital board is initially impressive, the current enterprise license model makes it an untenable solution for any project manager operating under a strict budget. The platform facilitates a billing trap where simply inviting stakeholders to view a board triggers unauthorized license upgrades. We observed instances where simple view-links resulted in the procurement of multiple yearly licenses without any administrative approval workflow. Reverting these accounts is intentionally obfuscated. For a principal architect, this software creates more administrative overhead and financial risk than it solves in collaborative efficiency. We are transitioning our organization to a competitor that respects established procurement boundaries.
User management is a disaster and customer service is non-existant to resolve issues
The software works well but they allow anyone to add themselves to your team without your permission, and then bill you for their use of the service. There is no straightforward way to return people to free accounts. There is no customer service contact information, or straightforward way to get support with your account. The fee model is therefore verging on a scam, where account admins do not have control over the budget for their own projects. Although we appreciate the functionality of the Board, we will be transitioning our organisation to a different service because of persistent difficulties with people upgrading accounts without us being able to remove them. I have lost perhaps a dozen hours of my life trying to follow up and make sure people have the accounts/permissions they need, but the system makes it nearly impossible.
Nothing but a scam - delete and avoid.
Just to confirm what others are saying on this site. What used to be a decent product has become nothing but a charging scam. I paid up front for a year, produced one board, sent a link to team members to view it, and I was charged the equivalent of 11 yearly licences without once being told that I would be charged, let along approving the charges. Also it appears the only way to avoid further payments of $00s is to delete everything, losing in my case many days of work.
no saving progress after sign in
i was writing my topic for my exam, and then i want to sign in to saved my progress. and after that it just gone, literally gone
Complete scam
The system for charging for sharing/teams/etc is poorly explained and is a complete and absolute scam. Without you realizing it, your subscription price can multiply. Stay away from these people.
Sneaky biller
Had to get a paid subscription - tried the free trial, but wasn't able to add on (even with payment) an extra module. Couldn't even end the free trial, so started a new (paid) subscription with a different email address.
Didn't entirely suit my needs, moved on, forgot about the renewal coming up as there were no reminders. After being billed at renewal, opted to cancel. At *that* point I got a reminder that I no longer have a renewal and maybe I'd like to sign back up? Ticked the "please contact me" box and have heard nothing since.
Don't trust the "life long free plan"
Don't trust the "life long free plan" - just not true - suddenly you can not edit your board anymore and the only way to get in touch is with a paid plan...
Bye Bye Miro this world does not need companies like you anymore
First time - Very nice!
First time last night.
Nice interior, attentive staff.
Menu very broad, food tasted very nice, presented well & portion sizes were very generous.
Costs reasonable.
Will definitely return.
Well done to you!
The new "enterprise etandard and…
The new "enterprise standard and advanced license model" make some boards (with specific features) useless if you don't upgrade to "enterprise adanced license", because basic features are now pay-locked behind the advanced license.
I lost three entire boards with years…
I lost three entire boards with years of works because of their stupid login with google access page which mislead me to delete the wrong account. No possibility to recover anything because customer support is non existent unless you pay. Awful experience
Usless without suscription
Table functionality is embarrassing rubbish. Other than that, I love Miro.
Great for ideation and workshops. BUT, how can such a bit company focussed on UX deliver such a horrendous table functionality.
Deceptive billing
Deceptive billing. They automatically added guests as team members and charged me for a full license for each. You cannot reach a real person, despite numerous efforts.
The system is nice but not worth the price and the deceptive tactics.
