The best gadget for dogs
Hi there!
Today I want to talk about an interesting gadget for... dogs!
Recently on Instagram I saw an advertisement for a tracker for dogs called Mishiko. At first, I was wondering what kind of tracker it is and how useful it can be (immediately made a parallel to fitness trackers for humans). Secondly, I really love my dog and often pamper her.
To tell the truth, the price for the gadget is quite high. Still there are two options: for $160 and for $210. The difference is that the second option includes free internet for a lifetime. If you buy a tracker for $150, then you have to pay extra $6 per month for the internet, since a sim card is inserted into the gadget in order to transfer all data to the application installed on your phone.
So, I chose the second option for $210. I understand that some people will say that's way too much for a dog-tracker. But before making a purchase, I studied the offers of other manufacturers for a long time. And, frankly, other trackers are very much inferior in appearance and, I think, in quality.
For example, there is an iPet tracker. In my opinion, it's design is completely bad, plus strange colors and cheap plastic. And the device itself looks very unreliable.
Another example is even worse - the tracker for dogs and cats MonkeyG. Google what it looks like, and everything will immediately become clear: there is no desire to purchase such a gadget. Moreover, if you count all the additional costs (trackers connect with the application on the phone via GPS), then the price will turn out like Mishiko, if not more. And Mishiko still looks like a sweetie.
Once the Mishiko was brought to my place by a delivery guy, I hurried to get everything out of the box. This is what I found on the table after unpacking:
The tracker is cool, looks stylish! It's light and flash are pretty bright, especially when you use it in the dark.
I have a pretty big labrador, but the tracker came up perfectly! It is very well fixed and does not slip.
And here's the tracker with the backlight:
The package has a detailed instruction on how to put the tracker on your collar with a special adapter (if you do not want to use the collar that comes with the kit):
And it is generally very easy to charge - you can just put the gadget on a charger connected to the computer!
Here is how the tracker looks on my Bruno:
Let me tell you a bit more - what is this device for?
The Mishiko tracker has two main functions: 1) tracking your dog's activity; 2) controlling the location of the dog.
And both of it are done using a special mobile application. It is very easy to find a dog now. I just grab my iPhone, turn on the app and as soon as you switch to the "Maps" tab, you find out where your pup is. Here's how it looks in the app:
In fact, nothing very different from the GPS-navigation. The only thing, at the first start of the day, the location of the dog comes to me with a delay of about a minute. The instructions say that this is normal, and after the first coordinates received, the delay decreases and the coordinates arrive very quickly, in only 5-10 seconds.
In addition to location, the application shows how many steps your pet has gone and how much it has left to reach the daily goal.
You walk around and in realtime see how much the dog has run up. Walking turns out to become much funnier - about how to run with a fitness tracker!
The only disadvantage of Mishiko is the high price. But still, it's a smart collar!
So if you do not want to lose a dog, watch out for his or her health and activity, then such a tracker will be useful for ya!
Pros: good quality, stylish and nice looking, helps to monitor the activity and tracks the location of the dog, easy to use
Cons: high price
