Misspent Summers is a cycling media company and store producing and selling books, photo prints and merchandise from the world of mountain biking and two-wheeled good times. The company is UK-based but has a worldwide pool of contributors, staff and followers. >>We love love love bikes and we are passionate about our products. We try our best to make everything to the highest standards using humans, small producers and responsible manufacturing while being as transparent as possible. >>After making our first downhill yearbook (Hurly Burly) in 2016, we went on to make an enduro yearbook (The World Stage) the following year, as well as several other projects including Eskapee Anthology, Downtime EP and Spent (about everything we think makes mountain biking great). We now sell our books, magazines, zines, clothing and merchandise worldwide and enjoy our relationship with a core group of fans and supporters who help us keep creating cycling media and products. >>Our newsletters are circulated for free and include news, views, opinions and rumours from the world of mountain biking. While we are massive fans of high-level racing and our yearbooks are the core of our business, we care about promoting mountain biking and cycling as fun, not too serious, a friendly community and adventurous – that's why we make Spent and why you'll find lots of fun (we think) stuff on our social media channels and in our free-to-view YouTube films like Tea & Biscuits and Cosmic. >>Anyway! Enough rambling. Every review, good or not so good, helps us understand and improve what we do so thank you in advance for taking the time to leave a note. >>To hear from Ben and James, the founders and chief distractionists, listen to their recent Downtime Podcast episode here: https://youtu.be/cZpRk-AHMDg

I love the honesty of the company first and foremost. The print products are amazing quality with well thought articles relevant to mere mortals. The notes from races are very insightful with amazing photography from the absolute best in the business.

Came for Hurly Burly, stayed for everything else. The annuals are a perfect way to capture the years racing. The spirit of Dirt lives on and the quality is unsurpassed.

In years to come people will look back on the work Missspentsummers have done and rate it amongst the greats of the time. It will be spoken about in lectures and teams of scientists will spend years trying to recreate the content using AI (and they will fail). And they make great beanies too.

Love everything they produce. It’s all high quality, inspirational stuff, and their passion shines through. A lot of it is free too and what isn’t is great value. They’re also very helpful and friendly.

Simply the only spam email that is actually worth opening and reading.
The content on one email is more interesting (words and visuals) than most of what the mainstream MTB media is putting out.
Oh and the rest of their stuff is good too.

All of their publications are produced by people who love bikes and being out on them and this comes across in the magazines and books.
Love the format size. When ever i travel i pack bike, tools and the latest copy of the annual.

MS provide the best MTB race coverage, full stop. The photography is on point at all times; and coverage summaries provide everything you need and nothing you don’t. The annuals and books provide human stories that help weekend warriors like me remember that even the toppest athletes are people too. A focus on sustainability in the production of the product along with articles about impact further cement MS as a worthy historian to the mountain bike world.
At times editorial can be shakey - EP1 featured quite a few errors - but what’s important is the intention to keep mountain bike media honest. Along with Cranked and Sleeper.co we are really spoilt for interesting, emotionally intelligent content that isn’t all about the latest bikes, but more about the people and trails those bikes touch.

Books with photos that look like what mountain bikes feel like and articles that read like what you meant to say when you tried to explain mountain bikes to your mum and dad

Top notch quality of the books. They are a pleasure to Look at every single time.
Also I ordered the wrong book by mistake, but instead of sending it back and order the right one, I got the book that I wanted in the first place a few days later. Without any additional costs.

The depth of knowledge, insights, and creativity is amazing. The stories they get from the races, which you wouldn’t hear if Misspent summers didn’t do their thing!
