Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 41 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the products, describing them as cheap, flimsy, and of poor quality, often arriving damaged or not as pictured. Customers also frequently reported issues with the products not being compliant with local electrical standards, raising concerns about their suitability for installation. The price of the items was often considered too high for the quality received, with some feeling they were overcharged for what amounted to "cheap crap." Additionally, many consumers struggled with the order process, experiencing missing parts, incorrect items, and significant delays. The refund process was a major source of frustration, with people finding it difficult to return items, facing high return shipping costs, or not receiving promised refunds.

Total crap

Total crap. The company does not deliver products, 2-3 months delays. Advise strongly against purchasing from these clowns.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
If I could minus zero stars I most certainly would.
Like many others, my partner and I purchased in good faith from this company and were rewarded with non-compliant lamps that no certified electrician would fit. MisterLamp refused to provide the required SDoC documentation, stating that it is not 'industry standard' to do so.
I threatened legal action and laid a complaint with the Commerce Commission. Two weeks since the email telling me that I would be receiving a refund (as an 'exception', mind) the website for MisterLamp Auckland is no longer active. And good riddance to bad rubbish. The company refused to comply with New Zealand law and rode roughshod over commercial and technical regulations for this country.
If ever they begin trading here again, I hope that they are penalised for the repeated breaches of NZ law.

Great quality lamp

Great quality lamp, very stylish, very happy with the lamp.
Communication about delivery a bit confusing, multiple emails, however did arrive in a reasonable timeframe.

Do not order from this website!!

I had a very disappointing experience with Mr Lamp Auckland. After placing an order, I was unable to get any response from their team despite multiple attempts to contact them.
The listed contact phone number does not work, and I sent several emails and messages with no reply. Due to the complete lack of communication, I have no confidence that this is a legitimate or reliable business.
As I received no support or response, I have had to raise a dispute with my credit card provider to recover my payment.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious before purchasing.

Don't be sucked in

Misterlamp Auckland is not what it appears to be. It appears to be an Auckland-based company. It appears to offer a straightforward returns policy. It appears to offer high quality items. None of these things are true. We had to fight with the company for more than three weeks before they would provide us with a return address for the items. The address was not in Auckland, but in China. The cost of returning the items (which cost roughly $2000) was over $700 NZD. Given the fight we had had with them to get the return address, we didn't like our chances that the refund process would go well at all. We are almost $2000 out of pocket, and now have a bunch of inferior light fittings that we can not use. (Some of our order has not arrived at all). DO NOT order from this outfit. It is designed to separate fools from their money and nothing more. Total scam.

Scam

The payment fails, but they keep your credit card details, and if you keep trying, they charge you multiple times, but later. Scam.

THIS COPANT IS A TOTAL SCAM …If I could give a negative number I…

If I could give a negative number I would. The light arrived , posted from China. It was a cheap version of what I ordered, without an earth wire so can’t be legally installed in this country. They argued with me, I had to get my bank and PayPal arrived. Mister lamp represented free returns and a $25 courier fee to return it. PayPal and the bank wouldn’t even look at my claim until I sent it back to China…cost …over $600. I have lost $3000 at this point

So far they have not responded to messages left or emails.
I wish I had looked at reviews before I bought.

SCAM company

SCAM company. Do NOT use. Put 2 of their lamps into my new home, which had non-replaceable LEDs and one failed within a few months. No replacement, just generic chatbot replies. Their website is down for now at least.

Wish I had seen these reviews earlier

Wish I had seen these reviews earlier. Purchased ceiling lights which looked great in the photo but ended up being cheap flimsy rubbish. The return policy is wildly misleading as it states returns cost an estimated $25 per item in shipping, which leads one to think they have an NZ presence. They do not. Return shipping to China would have cost nearly the same as the product. Ended up accepting a 25% refund as better than nothing and will now probably dump the lights. The whole organisation skates very close to outright false advertising. I have also complained to the commerce commission and encourage others to do so. If enough complain they might get shut down.

Worst company to deal with - scam artists

Same experience as everyone else - cord was different to the one in the image on the website, and it had a european plug. They promised to send us a new one but sent us a plug adapter. No SDoC and the lamp doesn't even work! Have reported to Google Safe Browsing and their hosting providers as fraudulent. Would encourage everyone else to do the same and get them taken down.

Scam and fraudulent site

Scam and fraudulent site. Lamps provided are not NZ compliant as no sdoc and are not earthed. Sparky refused to install. Their phone number is not answered and they do not respond to messages left. They will respond to email but just keep saying compliant when clearly not.

Whatever you do don't buy anything from this business.

Whatever you do, don't buy anything from this 'company'. We ordered some ceiling pendants that took forever to turn up (because they post, they don't courier.) Once they arrived, turned out the lights were not legally wired for New Zealand (will be the same for Australia.) That was another $400 to resolve. Then we came to install them today (4.9.25) with an electrician. Each light shade was so poorly made that the tops of each weren't folded straight/level....so when they were connected to the main body of the light, each one hung on a totally different wonky angle from the others like something a child might do when making something at around 3 years old. I wish I'd read all the bad reports on this business before I pushed pay. I hope you read this before you do. Never buying anything like this online ever again.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM MISTERLAMP-AUCKLAND

I purchased and received solar lights that are faulty. I then contacted them for a replacement set got told they only refund or replace within 30 days. This was about 40 days after I received them as I didn't string them up straight away. I informed them their practices aren't in line with the consumer guarantees act so they offered a replacement set but have said they would invoice me $31.23 for the shipping! They are illegally operating. Do not purchase from them they are not in Auckland as they try to make you believe.
