I had a really unsettling experience…
I had a really unsettling experience with Mita Eyewear. I made a purchase which I decided to return. In my attempt to return the item, I sent three emails over the course of almost two weeks to the Mita team in order to receive support in returning my item. None of my emails were answered.
From there, I called the Mita phone number and it took me a week to get an actual person on the line. When I finally got someone on the line, I was assured that I would receive a shipping label for my return. I received a shipping label immedaitely, which I was thankful for.
It has been weeks since my item has been returned to the Mita warehouse and I still have not received a refund. I send an email about my refund which went unanswered once again. I made a phone call about my refund and a Mita representative said that I should be receiving a refund within 24 hours. That was several days ago.
At this point, I am convinced that this is either a fraudulent company or a very disorganized company. I don't believe that I will ever receive my refund from them, thus I have called my bank to file a claim for a fraudulent transaction. This is the only way that I am confident that I will receive my money back.
It's really important for me to support sustainable companies. I believed that I was doing this when making a purchase with Mita. I was wrong. The sheer disorganization, lack of follow-through, and dishonesty that I have experienced have illuminated that this is a company that does not truly do not care about their customers. I will not be purchasing from Mita in the future as their interactions have been unprofessional and unaligned with the impact that they seek to create as a sustainble company.
