Just taken delivery of my low d Kelpie. It played straight out of the box! Beautifully mellow, and easy to play. I went for this one because the reviews were excellent, and I have to say justifiable, given that I am holding the proof!!
Delivery was quick.

I contacted Mk Whistles with a question to fix an issue with my Mk Pro Low F. Misha was able to diagnose the issue, and continued to exchange e-mails with me to offer advice and troubleshooting tips. By the end of the day, all of my questions were answered and issue resolved. That Misha took the time to follow up expediently throughout the day speaks volumes about the level of customer service that this company is committed to. I couldn't be more happy with my experiences with this company.

Had some minor issues with shipping internationally (Canada) due to poor handling by Canada customs, but the fine folks at MK were incredibly helpful at resolving it and making sure my whistle safely made the journey. Always speedy correspondence with them, they were polite beyond words and made the problem a non-issue. 5/5, would definitely purchase from MK again (and this all before reviewing the product itself!)
Whistle arrived safe and sound, very well packaged. The whistle has blown my expectations away - the build quality is surgical, the tone is full and rich and haunting, and the aesthetic of their products is second to none. Truly some, if not THE finest whistles on the market, and customer service that matches in quality. Thanks MK, you will be at the top of my recommendations list eternally!

I am very happy with my Low D whistle! It has a lovely tone and is beautiful to look at. I really appreciate quality craftsmanship - so rare in this modern world. Even the case had fine attention to detail, it is a work of art.

The low A is perfection, quite simply the best whistle I have played

I am not a professional musician, but I am confident that the MK Pro low D whistle was made with the utmost attention to detail. I have compared this to 2 other quality low whistles and it is by far my favourite.
The tone, appearance, and build quality are all fantastic.
Sound wise, it is warm and very slightly breathy. To my ears it is breather than when I've recorded it or other people have played it and I've been the listener. Then it sounds a little purer in tone, but still rich and warm.
In terms of ease of use,
I have played another low D and a smaller low G. Learning pipers grip was be to me, after months of play this is still the most comfortable of the the 3. I don't know if this is due to the machining if the holes or the finish, but u always get a clear cover the best with this whistle.
Build wise, it's lighter and easier to grip with the anodised finish than the other metal whistle I own.
I had a moment of panic when I took the world apart completely to add some lubricant to the tuning slide area and struggled to get the two parts together again.

The only issue I've had is that with my poor sight i found it hard to put the two parts back together after I took the risks apart to clean and lubricate. It's tough to put back and I recommend leaning it in one piece.
Nice that it comes in a sleeve that can wick away or slow any moisture to get out.
Absolutely worth the money

I received my new Low D whistle a few weeks ago and I am extremely happy with it. I normally play only soprano whistles so playing this low whistle was a new experience for me. I love the sound and feel of playing it. Before purchasing this whistle, I did a lot of research and many people seemed to like the MK whistles, so I decided to order one and I am very glad I did. Thank you for such a high quality whistle.

I came across the Kelpie low F at the beginning of the year and was so pleased with it that I decided to get the low D too. I love the rounded liquid tone in both octaves with just the right amount of edgy breathiness that you expect from a low whistle. Volume control and octave changes are great with no squeaky surprises or playing sharp. Lovely beautifully finished instruments. Anything negative? Sometimes I wonder would I like a little thumb rest like a clarinet: I haven’t made up my mind about that yet. Punctual service from the business itself.

My Blue Low D Whistle arrived safely 6 days ago. I have been getting to know the playing technique, which I shall have to pick up, because I was taught on a saxophone. I needed something lighter in my old age. In my teens I was given a 10 speed Raleigh sports bicycle from my parents, instead of a school trip abroad, and it was also this lovely shiny kingfisher blue. The whistle is a sturdy precision instrument, machined with skill, and it is tunable to produce clean clear notes. I shall have time to practice during the Covid-19 lock down.

My low F whistle from MK is a joy to play and to behold. It has a gorgeous tone and is extremely fun to play.

I finally found the excellence of the whistles !!
I'm playing since two years on MK pro whistles and they are really great for me. Beautiful sound, beautiful design... What Else ? Amazing !!
