2017 Silverado 6L80 xmission overheated

purchased new, never liked the shifting, 95k miles, overheated on the highway had to get towed home. added thermal bypass, had fluid flushed at dealer. truck was shifting hard and sloppy with lots of torque converter shudder on the way home. did not drive it afterwards. took a chance it was just the torque converter and purchased stock 1600rpm, went for a drive today and it was so smooth and shifted so well, temps are in the 160's. thank you Monster for the advice on the phone and having the parts I needed available and on sale. I am very happy all around.

Had to replace malfunctioning RAM transmission

Ordered and received the transmission within a week. Installation by my shop went smoothly, but had to work out the tune after a couple of days of driving. All good now. Scheduling the core return was also easy. Great price and included the fluid."

I ordered a 4l65 and sent me a 4l60 for…

I ordered a 4l65 and sent me a 4l60 for a truck did not know that till we tried to install it. I needed a 4l65 or 4l60 I still do not have it I was calling daily and no answers. I did get a email from them saying they still have not built it yet and it been past the 4 weeks and he said it going to be a few more weeks. No good communication. I was told it was being built and now they say its not even in production. Why lie and if you mess up fix it. We as people are not perfect. Monster transmission cost me money time and trust. They have offered my money back and I now am going to go that route. I would look at other options before going this route like I did and learn the hard way. I asked them to make it right and push my transmission thru but no trust in thier team.

Monster Transmission sold me a transmission advertised as a 4L65E that turned out to be a 4L60E, denied my warranty unfairly, and has been extremely difficult to reach for support.

I purchased a transmission from Monster Transmission in October 2023 that was advertised and sold as a 4L65E. After installation, the transmission caused the engine to stall as soon as it was put in gear. Monster Transmission was contacted right away, and they had me remove and send the transmission back to them for inspection.

A short time later, they voided my warranty, claiming there was “clutch material in the pan” and that I didn’t replace the transmission cooler. Their own installation instructions said to flush the cooler with one can of transmission flush. To be safe, we flushed it with three cans, so their requirement was more than met.

The transmission never shifted correctly from day one, and I rarely drove the truck because I didn’t trust it. After about 5,000 miles, the transmission failed completely. When I took it to another shop to have it replaced, the mechanic discovered that the transmission Monster sent me was actually a 4L60E, not a 4L65E.

Monster Transmission misrepresented the product they sold me and then denied the warranty unfairly. Additionally, the company was very difficult to reach after the initial purchase—calls and messages often went unanswered, and it took multiple attempts to get any response.

"2006 ram transmission
supper happy with the product and service. when I originally put my order in I used the wrong shipping address. I called and emailed them after hours and the next morning they called me back and got my order changed. They also ran through my vehicle with me to make sure I had ordered the proper transmission. The transmission arrived quickly and as expected. was installed easily and now the other core is on its way back"

Great support

I baught the sport model 68rfe for my 2500 ram cummins.
I talked tona sales rep after I ordered the transmission they wanted to ensure I recieved the correct transmission for my truck the transmission was in rought to the shop that installed the transmission within a week and then they helped me get the transmission heading back for my core charge refund quick the transmission seems to work perfect no issues

Amazing service!!!!

Amazing service!!!!
I placed an order on a Monday morning around 10am for a converter. By 1pm I had an email, text and phone call from the sales team to confirm my order details and ensure I was ordering and getting the correct one for my application. I’ve been in the aftermarket automotive industry for 25+ years and this is by far the absolute best service I have ever received when ordering parts. Will absolutely do business with Monster again.

Rebuilt Trash!

I ordered a 4L75E they to replace my 4L60E. I put it on. It had rough shift from the beginning got the transmission tuned shifted better not even one year later to converter died. Body valve has to be removed and replaced. I went to a professional transmission shop and that’s what they said RPM keeps going up and down because of that the warranty is fake a polite version of what I want to say And the customer service is just B & S asked me 1 million questions like we need to see what the oil looks like take the oil pan off took forever to get back to me horrible horrible experience overall rebuilt garbage sad to see after seeing this on Stacey David, extreme 4 x 4 and other featured shows talking about how great these transmissions are. they’re not really that stay away from from Monster transmission.PS they charge me $600 for a core in a transmission. Then when I went to resend it back to them, we don’t accept the core back from Canada. They knew fully that I was in Canada cause they shipped it to Canada then he told us they don’t reimburse the core from Canada $600 down the drain for core charge that they refuse to take back.

Monster has been terrible to deal with

Monster has been terrible to deal with. I purchased a 4l80 transmission and with 2800 miles it burnt up. No racing and no harsh driving. I contacted monster and was told they are not going to warranty it. My transmission guy said he has had multiple transmission from monster that they did not warranty. Do not buy from them.

MONSTER SCAM 🙀

Well I would like to start off by saying monster transmission does not know anything about transmissions!! They are a warehouse that takes your money and gets other vendors to build a transmission for you. Second of all, none of them could keep a straight lie between one another. It's always something different. So if you are in the market for a monster transmission, this is not the place. This is just a monster pile of shit!!! 😒😒 Do yourself a favor and get another company to build your transmission. This place does not build anything but problems that takes forever to get your money back and you're still in the same position you once was looking for a transmission!!!!

Broken trans less then 2 months

I bought a transmission 10r80 for my ford pick up truck installed transmission 7/25/25 the truck is now broken as of 9/8/25 with a faulty valve body. Called and talked to them about how to go about the warranty. Their response they will cover the part that went faulty and cover $100 per hour worth of labor, sounds good right? Until you realize you have to pay for the tow truck $150, dealership diag $250, the transmission relearn $250, and also pay for the transmission fluid, calls for 5 hour for labor the ford rate is over $200 per hour. I’m gonna come outta pocket. $1,500 that they will not cover mind you trans has been in the truck less then 2 months. I still haven’t received the money from my core I returned. Now I have a transmission the worked for 1,500 miles and broke in less then 2 months won’t ever recommend or use this place again I need my core money asap please and thank, screw your bs 2 year warranty!

Part does not fit my transmission

Part does not fit my transmission, was never used, Gives you the run around. Ask if package was broken. They shipped parts in a zip-loc bag. This is their catch for not returning item. Then they tell you they will charge you 15 dlaaors for a restocking. fee. So, they take the part, walk back to the warehouse and put it back in the bin. $25.00. well once i talk to the car club next meeting, they won't be selling shit in shreveport anymore.
