You're basically paying for this big white lie...

I signed up for MOS in 2019 around December or November and I went through the whole process with an agent texting me trying to help and emailing me. However, They only gave me a list of financial aid programs that I already had applied for, Pell Grant/CO opportunity fund/ FASFA. They never told me about scholarships I qualified for like they said they would find. SO you can forget the scholarship part about this, the only thing their agent is going to help you with is being an Aid coach. If you want to pay $150 for someone to text and email you about applying for these basic Financial Aid programs everyone knows about then, by all means, drop the $150! I'm sure your mom or dad can tell you to apply for FASFA and that you need to sign it every day when you already have. You're basically paying for this big white lie, their selling you false hope. THat they are working towards everything they can when you fill out all that signing stuff on the site and when they reach out to you, they act like they are really helping you till they charge your account for their 'service' and then you realize WOW all I did was apply for FASA, by myself and paid $150?! AND GET THIS... the spring semester I was trying to cover aid for I couldn't attend my classes due to a crisis and dropped them a few days before it started.(Jan 14th) Therefore, I never received any financial aid because I couldn't attend school and they took the money from my account(Yesterday-May 6th). I contacted customer service about a refund so well see how that goes. Either way save your money and do it yourself. Im sure these are fake reviews or just REALLY dumb people. Go do your research and take the time to find a scholarship you qualify for by yourself or with the help of a college advisor. These people on MOS cannot help you, but they can help you by taking your money and selling false hope and incentives.

UPDATE: I did end up getting my refund avout 5 days later, their agent also emailed me trying to have me stay but not after my bad experience. Thanks guys

Tried to charge me for the full amount…

Tried to charge me for the full amount as if I had received help. Caught it while it was still pending and emailed them immediately. They were even more rapid at responding and just asked me to send verification that I didn't receive help from them. I did and before the charge even hit my account it was already refunded that same hour or two. I was late to get their help because I didn't know about them till it was late so I wasn't able to receive financial help. However, they moved quick, stayed true to their refund policy, and gave me zero problems.

They gave me my money back

So, I decided to use Mos and was happy with their service but decided to cancel my classes due to personal reasons. They refunded me the deposit and said they wouldn't charge me the full amount for getting financial aid.

They are legit.

Even though I completed my finical aid, I didn't start until March. With Mos, I didn't have to worry about my financial aid. Just like in their videos, Mos was able to help me with the entire process and they also research for more grants/loans that usually get left out when applying for the financial aid, itself.

Mos is a personal experience that really gets you all the financial aid possible

Mos was a great help! My personal advisor always made sure to give me all the steps to receiving my financial aid. I was constantly reassured and asked if there was anything else I needed help with. Even after getting all the help I needed, I was informed that I could go to my advisor for any other college questions I had. Mos is really a personal experience that ensures you receive all the college help financially and generally that you could need. I definitely recommend Mos for all high school students. It's the best help you can get.

I saw an ad for MOS.com and was…

I saw an ad for MOS.com and was skeptical at first. As I read more into the company I came across the option to pay $1 upfront then the $148 later if I received the financial aid from funding sources they found for me. This seemed reasonable because I could receive a refund of the $1 and not have to pay the $148 if I didn't get any additional funding. MOS.com did find additional funding options for me but none of the new ones were available at my university. I emailed MOS.com this information and asked for a full refund/cancellation in which they willing agreed to. I appreciate a company who holds true to their word.

Do not do it

Do not do it! They basically fill out the fasfa for you and most people already know how to do or have already done that. They make it seem like they find you money else where and that's how they get you because they don't. Don't pay someone to do something you can do yourself for free. Also if you want to delete your account, prepared to be ignored for DAYS. I had to threaten them by getting my dad who is a lawyer involved and when I sent that message, I got a response in minutes. I wish I could give this company no stars and I hope they go out of business!

I have to give this company two thumbs…

I have to give this company two thumbs up. When I first went to sign up I had a problem with the application accepting my social security number so I contacted them and they told me exactly what to do. I followed their instruction and I was able to complete my application. Since then they have taken such a burden off of me. I have not had to worry about financing for my bachelor's degree because they have done such a fabulous job doing that for me. They have already submitted it to my college of choice and now I'm just waiting on my college to send me my financial aid package. The cherry on top, is the fact that I haven't paid them anything yet. I won't pay them until April 30th once everything is settled. So they are literally working for me for nothing until then. If it wasn't for the folks at MOS I would still be struggling with student loans and financial aid. They know more than I do. I will use them every year because they have gained my trust. I highly recommend them to any student who wants to just focus on the curriculum and not worry about where the funds are going to come from

What a joke

What a joke. Taking advantage of people who don't take due diligence and actually research the terms of an agreement. I do not need to pay $150 for someone to tell me about a grant that I am already aware of, qualified for, and have accepted. Learn from me and do your own research before reaching out to anyone regarding financing education.

FAFSA was completed in November 2019

I had to send the following email after my son and I were mislead into thinking that MOS was only applying for scholarships and grants after we stated that we only wanted help with scholarships and grants. He did not need assistance completing the FAFSA as we completed it in November of 2019. I sent a text message to the number I received stating that if I needed any help to text this number or send an email. I have not received a reply back as of yet.
Letter to the company:
As an attorney, I have advised my son that he has 24 hours to decide on whether or not I want to be in contract with a contractor (your service). After my son stated a few minutes ago on your app that he did not need help completing the FAFSA and only needed help with scholarships and grants, your app sent us directly to questions that were questions that are asked on the FAFSA website. We completed his FAFSA in November of 2019, and his college acknowledged that it had received the FAFSA. He has submitted his paperwork for the verification process, so we do not need to pay $148 for something to be done that has already been completed. Thank you.

Better options to cancel need to be created. If a person does not need FAFSA completion assistance, your company should not take that person's money. This app seems misleading and the terms of the contract/deal should be spelled out in advance and a person should not have to search for them. We also need to know if you are going to complete the FAFSA regardless of whether we need assistance in advance so we will not use the app.

Reply from Mos

Dear Baby Cakes,

We deeply regret any confusion or disappointment you experienced and our follow-up communications with you must have occurred after you posted this review! Please accept our apology for any delay or distress you experienced!

Mos does help students complete the FAFSA® but that is available for free. The paid component of the service includes state-based aid programs in the application, and access to a financial aid advisor who reviews your aid packages, as well as special circumstances to potentially prepare an appeal for you to ensure you end up with the maximum amount of aid you could qualify for.

Please allow us to clarify and explain the nature of our service and why many of the same questions that are on the FAFSA® are on the Mos application. Mos makes sure that students receive the maximum amounts of state and federal financial aid. To do that, we must collect the information that is used to determine eligibility. Many state-based aid programs use the same information, as well as additional factors, or sometimes fewer, than appear on the FAFSA®. Therefore, Mos asks many of these questions again as necessary to establish a student’s eligibility for state-based aid programs around the country, even if you have previously submitted a FAFSA®.

Also, Mos also offers a 100% money-back guarantee that if our efforts do not add more funds for students’ financial aid awards, then they are entitled to a full refund or cancellation of the fee.
We would be happy to discuss any further concerns or questions you may have!

You should check it out

I first saw Mos on a youtube ad and thought hm.. i should check it out it’s good to have someone explain thing more clearly about the FAFSA. It’s $149 which is quite hefty but it’s great on all the support and care they give there there costumer. My advisor is Kevin and he is just fantastic. I was originally given 7,000 from my aid but with Mos I got 6,000 more which is amazing. I really do recommend Mos because they are always 101% on top of everything and I thank them so much for that.

I would give it 0 stars

I would give it 0 stars. There is no way this company is legit or legal. I gave my whole information to them and then when they looked at my fafsa they kept saying that still need to sign my fafsa. My fafsa is signed. If you want to get scholarships or Grant's it's better to do it yourself.

Dear Sheri, we are very sorry that you were having difficulty with the FAFSA® signature process. Ensuring that your FAFSA® is on file is actually a free part of the service, but it is an important part of the financial aid process which is why we check to make sure it is done before moving on with other applications.

You can only ever have one FAFSA® at a time associated with your birthday and SSN and if this information is not entered accurately in your Mos application then we will not be able to confirm your FAFSA® was completed. This is most likely the problem you have encountered! We will have your financial aid advisor reach back out to you to get this fixed ASAP and continue to make sure you receive the maximum amounts of state-based and government financial aid possible for next year!

Mos is amazing! Highly recommend to all students

I signed up for Mos a few months ago and I am so glad that I did. My advisor, Emi, is so helpful in answering all my questions. I love how everyone at Mos truly wants to help each student get better financial aid. For me, going through the financial aid process was confusing on top of college applications, so working with Mos has been a life saver. I am definitely going to continue using Mos all throughout college. You should definitely check Mos out if you haven't already! :)

Great experience, service, and care from MOS!

After receiving $0 from financial aid for the third year in a row, I decided to give MOS a try. I did the pay later option and began filling out the application. Immediately, I received a text that offered me help filling out the application, if I needed it. Once the application was submitted I was kept completely in the loop with detailed but easy-to-understand emails about what MOS was doing with my application and which step they were at in the process. They responded to my questions very quickly and were extremely knowledgable, helpful, and kind. MOS checked if I qualified for any more government aid than what I was already getting. Unfortunately, and at no fault to MOS, I did not qualify for any more aid than what I knew about before using MOS. BUT because MOS was not able to find me more aid they refunded/did not charge me for the service. MOS is an amazing service that could help students if they qualify! The MOS team was even considering my family's special circumstances to help me find more aid. They truly go above and beyond! The information they ask for on the application is sensitive but they use it strictly to find you aid and apply you for it. I had a PHENOMENAL experience with MOS and would recommend every student to just give it a try because even if MOS isn't able to find you more aid, they will not charge you, so it's worth a shot.
