I received a damaged item

I received a damaged item, and on top of that the jeans ran much smaller than expected and the quality did not match the high price at all. Customer service acknowledged the issue but still required a return before issuing a refund, making the process unnecessarily frustrating. Overall a very disappointing experience with poor customer service. I will not be purchasing from this company again.

Great jeans that don’t last

I discovered Mother jeans a few years ago & immediately fell in love with the style, the comfort & the way they make me look slim & fit especially because I’m a petite 5’1” at 125 lbs with curves & I purchase in size 26- 27 to give me a little extra room as I’m an active person.. I’ve now owned 4 pairs.. The downside is that they never seem to last more than a year, at the most.. Every pair I’ve purchased tear in the butt area with just normal wear.. They are the most expensive denim I’ve ever purchased with the poorest lifespan. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hustler Heel Denim

Hustler Heel Denim, Wash: Taking Shape.
I've always loved Mother Denim - the quality is usually good but recently I got the The Hustler Heel
$248 Wash: Taking Shape and the smell of them is just terrible. I washed the denim, following their directions, and the smell just worsened. I had this problem before with the brand Just Black denim - great cut but toxic stinky as can be and the smell doesn't fade.

I wrote to Mother and they offered for me to send them back (after I've already wasted a lot of time AND alterations on the jeans). I told them to just pick up any pair of jeans - the smell will be there. It can't be healthy for the person wearing it or the environment.
I'm done with the brand after this experience. Interesting that they don't have product reviews on their website.

Poor quality, I'll fitting and non existent customer service.

Bought some shorts online which stated they came up small so I sized up as suggested.

On arrival they were 2 sizes smaller yet when I reached out to the company about this they completely ignored 2 emails. Also the quality was nothing special, easily could have been a cheap brand as had very little about them to justify the price. Not impressed.

Mother hates you

Sadly, this company has changed. I've been buying their jeans for years, as a reliable size 14 I've been able to buy The Weekender in a size 32 for a good fit, with a little stretch if needed. This time I sized up to a 33. What I got was labelled 33 but cut to a 29. Holding up the old 32 and the new 33 you can immediately see that the new size is actually 2 inches narrower all the way around. I had my daughter try it on, she wears a 29 and they fit her perfectly. The measurement on her is 32" at the hip/mid-rise and 18" around the thigh. The old one was 38" and 20" thigh. The response from customer service was basically "sux to be you". I'll never buy from them again.

Customer service is HORRIBLE

Online customer service support is horrible. I write this as the owner of an international selling/shipping brand.

I purchased an E-gift card as a gift for my own Mother (who resides in the states). I am from the states but live over seas. I completed check out with an overseas Visa card and overseas billing address. On Mother’s Shopify checkout I was able to choose from just about every country on planet earth for my billing address. No prompts that they only accept USA based payments. Additionally- the payment processed they use is literally “Global E-Payments” from Klarna. Made to process payments from all over the world.

My order gave me a “completed checkout” notification and the funds fully left my account and were sent to Mother. But I never received my e gift card. Additionally this is a poor service because you cannot type the recipient info into the e gift card checkout process. They will just “send it to you and you can send it to who you want”…. Again, no mention of any overseas purchasing issues/ it’s not allowed.

After my order failed to be fulfilled I contacted their customer service, they told me that they don’t do foreign orders and that the e gift card had to be going to a person in the United States. I confirmed it was. They came back to me with “we don’t accept payments from overseas cards”… Well, you actually DO. Your Shopify settings DO. Your payment processor is a global payment processor. And these are all things you have the power to edit within your Shopify account. (As per mentioned above, I am a business owner with a Shopify account, that does global payments and global shipping. You the Shopify site owner have full power to dictate the settings of where you do and do not ship, and where you do and do not accept payments from.)

If you don’t accept foreign cards then it shouldn’t even be available to type in at checkout. My country shouldn’t be on your predetermined drop-down list. It’s that simple.

Finally, they said the funds hadn’t yet cleared on their end and they can’t process my order. LOG IN TO YOUR PAYMENT PROCESSING ACCOUNT. (Not just your Shopify back office.) Check on any holds. Check if you need to manually release or accept the funds. Check if you can decline the charge and refund me my money back for goodness sakes.

I had to personally explain the entire process of how to manage their own sales, Shopify, and payment processor to their own customer service team. My order is still in limbo, no processed, and I’m getting no response at all.

Horrible horrible order processing and customer service- from one business owner to another. Edit your Shopify settings, or get with the program. It’s actually so simple it’s infuriating.

I recently purchased a pair of mother jeans that sag due to quality of construction. These jeans cost to much to require a tailor to fix in order to keep them. Loved the style but I had to fix them to keep them.

I have been purchasing from Mother for years. I have several pairs of jeans as well as tops some accessories and dresses. They are the only brand of jeans that I will wear. I am obsessed. Worth the price to me and the best quality I have ever come across. Some of them I have worn many many times and they remain in good condition. The clothes are also a unique style. I am never disappointed.
