Scamming decent people

I really trusted this company, my mistake. They try and convince you that cars that are 10 years old should have the same depreciation rate as cars that are 2 years old which is NOT true. I queried my car cost and was assured these cars hold their value thats why it's so high, go to exchange it and suddenly a £13k car is worth £5.5k - two years later! How can they look people in the face knowing they are scamming decent people. Trying to say depreciation would reduce a car from £13k to £5.5k in two years, a car that is ten years old! Saddest part is the4y'd then list it to sell it for £10.5k and make another £5k on the sale of the same car again. I genuinely don't know how these people can look people in their faces how they have behaved. What happened to fair trading, make a couple of grand on each sale but trying to make £5k on every part ex in whilst also making £5k on the new car your purchasing is outpricing the cars and ripping off the people. then act dumb when you trade the car in and suddenly the car they told you holds value is worthless again! I feel bad I have had three family members and two friends go and buy from their last two years too, they too will face this when they go back as a returning customer! Shocked to the core. They stand there pretending they are looking after you and pretending they appreciate your continued custom! I couldn't sleep at night doing this to people

Do not buy if you like peace of mind

Do not buy if you like peace of mind. If you don't want to be love bombed like I was and then cry due to terrible after sales experience, AVOID!

I previously left a 5-star review after purchasing my car, but I’m revising it because my experience since then has been very poor.

The Blue Chip warranty was sold to me as covering all mechanical and electrical components, but when issues arose it did not cover basic items and I felt the cover was not clearly explained at the point of sale.

I was told the dealership would help, but there was no meaningful follow-up and communication was poor. I waited at least a month, and I called 5 times chasing updates before eventually giving up.

Reception staff were rude and unprofessional on calls, and I was told things that later appeared to be inaccurate.

Overall, I can’t recommend buying from here based on the lack of support once problems appear. If you do buy, make sure you get everything in writing and verify exactly what the warranty does and does not cover.

Management: please contact me to resolve this.

Would never ever recommend this car dealership

Would never ever recommend this dealership - bought used car & within 2 months it had broken down & inoperable. They were not at all helpful & when I mentioned the Consumer Rights Act the manager became very unpleasant- for your own sake avoid at all costs!!

❌❌ BE AWARE ❌❌

In July 2024, I bought a 2013 Honda Civic for £6,480. One month later, the engine light came on. Motonet said only the engine & gearbox were covered and asked me to pay £500 for exhaust repairs.

Later, the oil level kept dropping. I then found the exhaust had been blocked to hide smoke, showing the engine had oil-burning issues from the start. Motonet refused responsibility and told me to deal with the warranty company.

Before sale: polite and helpful.
After sale: no support.

The car is now worth under £800.

⚠️ Also note: their “12-month engine warranty” only covers up to £250.

Based on my experience, I do NOT recommend buying from Motonet.

❌❌ BE AWARE if you want to buy a car from Motonet! ❌❌

❌❌ BE AWARE if you want to buy a car from Motonet! ❌❌

In July 2024, I bought a 2013 Honda Civic from Motonet for £6,480. They spoke very highly of the car, claiming it was in excellent condition with no issues. However, just one month after the purchase, the check engine light came on.

When I contacted them, they told me that only the engine and gearbox were covered under the warranty and that I would have to pay for any other repairs myself. I was only using the car lightly — mostly for school runs — but the issue turned out to be with the exhaust system, which wasn’t covered. I was told it would cost me £500 to fix.

A few months later, I noticed the oil level kept dropping, although the car wasn’t smoking. Eventually, about 3 months ago, I discovered the exhaust had been blocked — likely to hide smoke — and it became clear that the engine had an oil burning issue from the beginning. I’ve been chasing Motonet for help since then, and they’ve offered no real solution. They keep saying, “We’re just the seller, take it up with the warranty company.”

When they’re trying to sell you a car, they act very respectful and promise that they’ll help with any issues. But once the sale is done, it’s a completely different story. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend NOT buying a car from Motonet.

The car I paid £6,480 for is now worth less than £800.

ANOTHER important thing they mentioned is the 12-month warranty!!!! So please be aware: the engine comes with a 12-month warranty for ONLY £250 — not more😐😐😐😐

If you’ve had a similar experience, please like this review.

I purchased a Renault megane in October…

I purchased a Renault megane in October 2025 from Motonet Ltd, during the drive back from the showroom in Coventry, the car started to judder and I knew something wasn’t right with the car. A formal complaint was made, however Motonet were reluctant to do anything and told me “I didn’t know how to drive a diesel car properly” LOL
After various emails, Motonet decided to get their law firm to handle the complaint (lawgistics, another shocking company to deal with I may add)
Motonet collected my car on December 9th to get an independent inspection done, and lo and behold Ive not heard anything from them since, I have no car and and had no refund issued!!
Lawgistics are apparently waiting for an update about the car. So basically Motonet have stolen my car and left me without any means of transport for over 4 WEEKS and 5K out of pocket.
Shocking behaviour!
No idea what’s happening.
Don’t ever buy a car from this company, Ive been robbed and it’s caused nothing but anxiety and stress.

Outstanding service from start to finish

Outstanding service from start to finish

I recently purchased a BMW for my business from Motonet Car Dealership, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience.

Going in, I wasn’t entirely sure what car to buy we needed something practical with enough space for work, but that could also comfortably double as a family car. From the very start, the team took the time to understand exactly what we needed and gave us clear, honest advice on the best options available. There was no pressure at all, just genuine guidance.

We ended up purchasing a BMW with a very high spec, and the attention to detail was exceptional. The car was absolutely spotless, perfectly prepared, and in immaculate condition, it was clear they take real pride in their vehicles and their service.

Pa and Abi were amazing throughout the whole process. The whole team was lovely! Their customer service was friendly, caring, and highly professional, and they truly went above and beyond. They even surprised us with a beautiful hamper filled with lovely goodies, which was such a thoughtful touch.

What really stood out was how family-friendly and considerate they were — Abi kindly gave our children colouring pads to keep them entertained while we finalised the purchase, which made the whole experience so much smoother and stress-free.

Overall, Motonet made what can sometimes be a daunting process feel easy, personal, and enjoyable. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a car. If you want excellent advice, top-quality vehicles, and genuine customer care, this is the place to go.

Avoid — Vehicle Declared Unroadworthy and Dealer Failed to Engage

I purchased a Citroën C4 Picasso from Motonet on 8 November 2025. Within minutes of leaving the forecourt, after stopping to refuel, the car began producing heavy white smoke from the exhaust. I raised this with the dealership in writing that week.

The situation deteriorated quickly. On 24 November, the same smoke reappeared, and on 25 November the vehicle failed to start entirely, displaying: “Engine fault: have the vehicle repaired.” At this point the car became completely undriveable.

I contacted Motonet repeatedly via email on 15, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27 November, and again on 1 December, formally rejecting the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act on 24 November. Despite this, the dealership provided no written response at all for over two weeks.

Because of the safety concerns and the lack of engagement, I commissioned two independent assessments:

ClickMechanic — confirming multiple serious faults across the engine, emissions system, gearbox ECU and electrical systems

RAC Inspection — declaring the vehicle unsafe and unroadworthy, identifying ABS faults, DPF failure, electrical communication failures and other pre-existing defects

Both mechanics confirmed that these issues clearly existed before purchase.

After continued silence from Motonet, their legal representatives Lawgistics became involved. Instead of addressing the matter, they asked me to drive the car to Coventry for their chosen assessment, despite the RAC technician formally advising that the vehicle was unsafe to drive under any circumstances.

Throughout this time, I was left without a functional family vehicle and had to rely on alternative transport and rental costs while receiving no meaningful communication or solution from Motonet.

Based on the immediate failure of the vehicle, the confirmation from two independent professionals that the car was unsafe, and the lack of engagement from both Motonet and their representatives, I cannot recommend this dealership.

We were subjected to a serious safety…

We were subjected to a serious safety concern regarding a car we purchased from Motonet, located at 146–164 Lockhurst Lane, Coventry, West Midlands, CV6 5NY (Tel: 02476 637124).

We were sold a car that is not roadworthy. While driving for 3h from Coventry the car started signalling a fault. We stopped at the roadside and discovered that the rear driver wheel bolts were all missing, leaving the wheel tilted outward and held in place only by the locking bolt.

It is only by sheer luck that the locking bolt prevented the wheel from detaching completely. Had it failed, we could have been killed on the motorway, and other road users placed in grave danger.
This incident raises serious concerns about the dealership’s practices and the validity of the MOT issued for their vehicle. We believe this poses a significant risk to public safety.

We have reported them to the DVSA.

Terrible service and completely…

Terrible service and completely unprofessional staff. My friend bought a car from here and the engine light came on the very next day. It took him over a week to get his money back, with no real apology or urgency.

While we were there, I was told by a staff member (who was washing cars at the time) that I could park in the pub’s car park and that he would register my number plate. He didn’t — and now I’ve received a penalty charge. I’ve been trying to get in touch with them since, but they don’t respond to my emails, and when I call, they just try to avoid taking any responsibility.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. I wouldn’t trust them with anything.

All around brilliant service

I've brought a few cars from here and I've never been disappointed. With a lot of companies you only get brilliant service prior to purchasing and after purchasing it's normally a bad experience however here at motonet the experience is extremely good at all points of contact. Even after purchasing if problems arise they're incredibly helpful and rectify the issues straight away where possible. 5 stars for the team at motonet and will definitely be purchasing from here again

Brilliant experience

Absolutely brilliant customer service from Parr and Abbie. I just brought a fiat 500l on finance and the guys there made the whole experience smooth. I had plenty of time to check over the vehicle properly and then take it for a test drive. Gave me a great deal on the car and also upgraded my warranty cover at no extra cost. Most places give you a 28 day warranty however motonet give 12 months warranty for extra peace of mind. Overall brilliant service and will definitely use again in the future.
