Seriously saved me from a bad purchase!

I was set on purchasing a car from a private person, and was told everything was good & the car not written off or involved in accidents. I checked with MotorCheck.ie, and discovered the car was involved in an insurance claim, and that it had been damaged. They informed the month/year it was in the accident.

When I informed the owner, he said this was an error from the rental company when they sold off a lot of cars (it was a rental car originally) and he had it fixed and to "try running a report again." He believed it was an admin mistake.

Instead of running another report, I asked MotorCheck to investigate further about the incident. They not only double assured me the car was in an accident, but even sent me pictures of the proof! This was above & beyond what I was asking for, and sealed the deal for me to not purchase this car. It's possible the owner didn't know, as he was just reselling the car, but regardless the car wasn't worth the asking price due to it's history.

This was so helpful and worth every penny. I since got a different car.

The reports Motorcheck provided are very detailed. Their CS are responsive and a pleasure to deal with. They also provided a follow up service to Finance check a car with the bank, all included in the report fee. Excellent all round, thanks.

I recently encountered an issue that will likely prevent me from using Motorcheck.ie services again.

There is an expiration date on purchased checks and its not stated clearly. That's mean If you buy a bundle of three checks and only use one, the remaining checks will expire after a certain period. This means that if you plan to purchase another car after 3 years which is the minimum period for upgrading in my opinion, you'll find your unused checks have expired and you'll need to pay for new ones. I haven't encountered this issue with other vehicle check companies! So for a peace of mind I'll buy from the other companies with no expiration dates and cheaper with the same info!

Quick process, full report in minutes to give you peace of mind. Highly recommended. 10% of cars in Ireland in 2024 have had odometers tampered with and 15% are imported write offs (apparently).

I purchased a check on a car I am trying to sell. This report contained mileage data suggesting that the car was clocked. They apologised for the error which is a lot of use!

The report also contains other erroneous data re plate changes and flags 'minor' issues which are not issues at all! It flags that my car doesn't have a current MOT!

I almost didn't buy this car because of the misinformation in the motorcheck report I bought three years ago. This is my second time trying to warn people about this cowboy outfit.

A friend recommended I do a back ground check on a car I was buying privately,money well spent and peace of mind using motor check.ie,report on the car sent to me within minutes.

So happy I spent the money doing the full check on a fiat 500 we were going to buy! Car seemed immaculate, drove really well, guy selling seemed nice. I had done a free online check to see if the reg matched the car which it did and also did a cheaper check and all seemed fine. But decided to do full check and lucky I did because the car had reg changed and was a write off and I wouldn’t have been able to get it insured or been able to sell it. Definitely worth the money!

The check threw up an alert. When I asked for further information I had pleasant correspondence with a couple of staff. I was given as much info that was available.
