Zero-use pass, zero flexibility
I purchased a Mountain Collective Pass for the 2025/26 season. I did not purchase the optional insurance. I’m healthy, active, and didn’t anticipate needing it.
Unfortunately, early in the season — before I was able to use the pass even once — I suffered a tibial plateau fracture. This is a documented, season-ending injury that makes it medically impossible for me to ski this year.
I contacted Mountain Collective to ask whether the pass could be deferred to the following season, since I never used it and will recover. The request was denied. No rollover, no credit, no accommodation of any kind.
As a result, I lost $639 for a product I never used, solely because I did not purchase their insurance.
I understand that policies exist, but this one is unnecessarily rigid. This policy places all risk on the customer, regardless of circumstances.
I’m sharing this experience so others are aware: an injury at the wrong time can result in a total loss with no recourse, even if you never ski a single day.
