Not bad and It worked as expected! I tried this for fun.
I got the service mainly for the phone mask because iCloud does not offer this option. The service does not work. I had it programmed to forward all calls to my real number and calls were not getting through. Additionally, a lot of services out there will not work with phone forwarding services so you won’t be able to log in on anything that requires on code-by-text for authentication.
Cute service offered in-browser.
I decided to try out the relay service. "Just for fun."
I'm an experienced user, but thought: "what the hell, it's just one order."
I regret this decision. I can't change my order now, because Relay requires a subscription which was not transparently mentioned in the sign-up process. Granted, I should have done more research. But in most countries there are laws against this sort of "free until it's not" approach. My mistake to trust a large company I suppose.
Anyway, as I said it's a cute feature if you wear a tinfoil hat. I don't see any advantages in every day life. Lack of transparency and up front conditions make this a no-go for the average user. I played dumb and was confronted with a paywall to deal with my affairs online. Honestly I'm not important enough to have e-mail masks and deep anonymity. For me this was a failed experiment.
