Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the pricing to be extremely high and felt that the company often charged exorbitant amounts for repairs, sometimes without even fixing the problem. People frequently reported terrible customer service, with experiences ranging from rude staff who raised their voices and hung up, to long hold times and unreturned calls. Reviewers also encountered issues with the product or service itself, including technicians failing to properly diagnose problems, not having the right parts, or providing poor quality repairs that did not resolve the issue. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with individual technicians, describing them as professional, knowledgeable, and efficient in diagnosing and repairing appliances. A few other people also felt that the cost was reasonable and that the service was prompt and effective.

Good tech, but cost is way to high!

The tech gave me a notification when he would be here. He was professional and did his job. The biggest complaint I would have is cost. He was here for 15 minutes, should me a few zipper parts and bounty sheet that was jammed and causing the noise of the drum. No replacement parts or anything, $266. While did a nice job, has to be a cheaper option next time.

Horrible!

Horrible. Go elsewhere. Save your time and money and hire someone profession that knows what they are doing. They are inexperienced and instead of fixing, they made it far worse.

Don't ever use Mr. appliance

Don't Ever Ever Ever ask Mr appliance to fix anything for you in your house. If you look at all these complaints that people are making I understand exactly for I had one person that they said that he worked there for 20 years and he knew just about everything about appliances, come out today to look at my dishwasher and he opened the dishwasher door and looked inside and said you need a new pump shut the dishwasher door charge me $157 and said it was for diagnostic and said it would cost almost $500 to fix it. Well I paid the $157 and then I got really upset because he wasn't here but about I would say 5 or 6 minutes. So I called them and said that I was very displeased and that I wanted to stop the credit card payment that I made because he didn't do anything at all. He didn't look at the pump he opened the dishwasher door and shut it and said it was the pump. I did call the company and complain
and they were very nasty and unprofessional; telling me if I didn't pay they would put a lien on my house $157. Can you imagine a professional person telling a customer that they we're going to do that for a service call? Don't ever let them touch any appliance that you got in your house! I would give them a 0 if I could, I spoke with one of the managers there to let them know I was unhappy He was a very, very nasty human being. So trust me stay away from Mr. Appliance.

Not satisfied

I recently had Mr appliance company come look at my fridge they defrosted it and clear the draining line a week later I have the same problem my fridge is not running right and my freezer now is not running right I called them up and they said they would charge me again to come out and do that again or if I needed a part or anything which understandable if I need a part I understand that but I just thought I'm out last week and now they're wanting to charge me again to come out again and do the same thing that they should have finished the job in the first place I gave them a two rating because the guy that came out was very nice and older man that seem to be very knowledgeable but that sucks that my fridge don't work after last week they came out and I paid them to do it and now it's worse than what it was before I'm just saying being honest

This company not recommended

The service call came fast which was the only thing good with the experience that I had with Mr.Appliance in Omaha. The technician was here for about 30 minutes which cost me over $150. I was then presented a quote for over $600 to repair my 2.5 year old GE dishwasher. This is more than a new one by the way. The technician said that the control board needs to be replaced and that was it. After doing some research I found a GE replacement part for around $150 and the person I spoke too sent me a link on how to install it. 4 screws and 2 plugs. He said that I shouldn’t be more than 30 minutes to replace the part.
This is a very high quote that boarders on a complete bend over if you ask me. Long story short I would give them “0” stars if I could. I don’t recommend you having them fix your appliances.

I had them come to repair my oven, and they ripped us off

I had them come to repair my oven. Came in, did little, said it was my baking element, which he then claimed was no longer available, took the serice fee and left.
The next day I made 1 phone call to the manufacturer, and had the part the very next day.
I then decided to go with a different company to install it, and was told the element was fine, and that it was the control board that was bad.
So not only did they lie, steal my money for not doing anything, but didn't know what they were doing.
If I could give a 0 star I would. Thorofare NJ

They are very expensive, unqualified, and arrogant. They love to charge and fail to properly diagnose and fix a 1 year new Sctosman ice maker. After several spirited conversations, 'they' decided we were not a good fit to continue trying to resolve the repair. Versus say, "we really have no idea how to solve the problem and another company would be a good idea." They required payment for a part pre-ordering, who does stuff like that? When they have failed to even troubleshoot the problem? Avoid them! This is for the Edwards, Colorado area.

When Mr Appliance steals from customers and inept technicians

When Mr. Appliance steals from customers and attempts to rewrite history...... Do not use them ever! I openly share my response to them.

Shannon, your response completely ignores the primary reason I called for service. The door flap was only one part of the problem. From the very beginning, I made it clear that the ice maker and water dispenser were not working. Your technician, Daniel, and your company both stated those issues would not function unless the door flap sealed properly. I relied on that guidance. Attempting to rewrite the narrative is unprofessional and dishonest.

I paid for the door flap repair without issue. It was replaced, and it does seal. However, the ice maker and water dispenser--the original issues I called about--remain completely unresolved. Do not tell me I did not ask for 4 issues to be resolved when I first contacted you.

After three service visits, your company has still failed to fix the problem. Instead, I've been left with a refrigerator full of visible tape, patchwork, and what can only be described as unprofessional "band-aid" fixes. This is not acceptable by any reasonable standard of appliance repair.

Even more concerning, I have written text messages from your own technician admitting they do not know how to fix the issue or even why it was continuing to happen. I was told to put it in the garage and buy a new one to avoid spending more money with your company! And yes, be assured I will be posting those messages on Yelp, Google, the BBB and all social media platforms. Yet I was still charged again on a follow-up visit for work that was never completed successfully in the first place. So again, do not rewrite history to avoid accountability for ineptness and a failure to understand how to properly fix appliance issues. If you don't have trained technicians or specialize in a brand, don't send them to customers homes. People want to trust in you and now see what they can't.

By the third visit, your team resorted to placing silver tape throughout the interior and filter area of my refrigerator. You have now caused more issues by doing this and I absolutely intend to hold your company accountable. That is not a repair--it's negligence.

At this point, this is no longer just about poor service. This reflects a pattern of incompetence, misrepresentation, and improper billing. You charged for a solution you did not deliver, failed repeatedly to diagnose the issue, and left my appliance in an unacceptable condition. And your technician agreed and specifically stated he did not know why it was happening, yet continued to come back with a second technician who also had no idea what to do so they slapped some tape all throughout the inside and called it a day. Are you serious? Shame on you.

You've had multiple opportunities to correct this and chose not to. I will continue to publicly document this experience, including technician statements and text and photos, so others are fully aware of how your company operates. Every review site, all of social media and the BBB. We treat people with trust and respect and what you have done to my family is disgusting.

You should seriously reconsider how you handle situations like this, because this level of service is indefensible. But you go ahead and keep the money "for now", since that is what matters most to you. Let's see if it is worth it when I am finished with making sure this experience with all of the photos and text messages from your of technicians back up exactly what I am saying.

Disgusting and shameful.

Instead of Mister Appliance it should…

Instead of Mister Appliance it should be named Mister Rip off Artist. They stole $320 from me. Never fixing my dryer. Their technician Jonathan put the wrong Thermal fuse and thermostat on my dryer. Upon his second visit he wanted an additional $200 and some dollars for my dryer belt saying it a separate issue. When I told him no thank you. He still wanted a $119 technician fee for coming out. He then became angry we had to call the police to get him leave. After I called a different repair service is when I discovered that he put the wrong parts on my dryer. Also this other technician inspected the broken belt, stating that other than a couple of superficial cracks there was nothing wrong it. He also futher stated that it was indicative of it being put on incorrectly so that it would snap as soon as I started the dryer. DO LET THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSE. In all honesty they should be ashamed of their selves for the alleged services they provide. BUYER BE AWARE BE VERY AWARE.

I called for repair of a $2500 Samsung…

I called for repair of a $2500 Samsung refrigerator. On visit one the technicians told me a board had failed and would need to be changed to the tune of over $700. I weighed the options, agreed to proceed and prepaid for the part. Visit two the board was changed but apparently was not the correct board for my refrigerator. The board was removed and a new one ordered. On visit three, the correct board was installed but did not fix the problem. Yet another circuit board was suspect and had to be ordered. I’m now $890 into the repair. On visit four the second board was changed but the problem persists. I was told it was most likely a compressor and a new one was required. Now the potential of paying more for this repair than a new refrigerator would cost is a viable concern. I called a halt to the continuous stream of parts replacements. Bear in mind that the freshly installed parts have yet to produce a cubic inch of cooling. I requested that their parts be removed and the cost of them be refunded, I pay a fair trip and diagnostic fee to Mr. Appliance and we part company. They refused to refund anything at all! Bottom line, less than knowledgeable technicians, extremely poor customer relations and questionable if not completely criminal business practice.

No Refund when Service canceled

I will firstly state, they did come to assess the issues with my stove the same day I called. I paid $517.00 which I thought was ridiculous to replace two heating elements. That included the $125 for the assessment, parts and repair. However, after I received a copy of the receipt via e-mail I saw that there was another $554 due. More than stove costs. I canceled the service call and was informed there is no refund for the amount paid. Nowhere stated on the paperwork I received does it state there is no refund. If I signed that when I paid, I was not informed. Beware of this company. And, I now learned stoves are a disposable item. Just go purchase a new one.

WAY to expensive

Charge a lot just to come out and tell me my diagnosis (burnt broiler element) was correct and then wanted to charge a whole lot more to get a part and put it in. Just the cost of the part was like 5 times what I see online. I think they're making their money just charging for the first visit. The whole "you might want to buy a new stove" thing came pretty quick. He even had a dealer he wanted point me at for a "deal."

On 2-19-26 the repairman (Trae) came to the house to repair a microwave, he looked over it and stated he was going out to the truck, when he returned he started speaking to my wife in the living room and the dog was barking, she immediately stated go see my husband in kitchen he is waiting for you and he began to raise his voice stating "I need you to something with him im not talking over a dog" several times, rudely, she stated go talk to my husband he is waiting for you. I heard the commotion and walked toward living and I observed him turn from her and roll his eyes at her. At this point he was advised to leave.

Called their office immediately and I felt as if they could care less.

Overpriced! If I could only give a ZERO star.

First the diagnostic fees is too high $119. Second, after getting a quote to replace my ice maker I did some research. Mr A was going to charge $266 for $162 ice maker. Shipping fees closer to $189. That's a 40% markup on the ice maker. The killer is for a 15 min job to replace it they were going to charge $360!!!!! Total job of $560. For a job I did myself for $189. They should be embarrased and ashamed. That is downright taking advantage of people.

DO NOT USE MR. APPLIANCE in CHARLOTTE.

Do not use Mr Appliance

Do not use Mr Appliance. Had Mr Appliance out to check problems with my washer & dryer. Technician stated he could not find anything wrong with dryer. Paid $65 trip fee.
Technician stated washer needed new belt, gasket, & 4 shocks. We paid $415.00 which was 1/2 of total charges and the balance due when the job was completed. When he returned, he put the new gasket & 4 shocks in. The belt was too small. The technician said he would reorder the belt. He then told us that we would have to pay for the parts & labor of the work done today even though the job was not completed. His boss said we had to pay the balance. We said the technician had told us that the balance would be due when job completed . The boss told him to take out the new parts that the tech had just installed. We said no. Get the new belt & we will pay. Then the boss who was on the phone said he was calling the police. We could not believe the way this was handled. We have never had to pay a balance due before the job was completed.
