Installed package unit from MrCool in…

Installed package unit from MrCool in Nov2023. It functioned fine for 23 months. Nov2025 just literally days before it was 2 years old, total system failure, coil had sprung a leak, lost all gas. Over $1700 dollars for replacement and recharge(warranty covered part). Exactly 17 DAYS LATER IT HAS DONE IT AGAIN WITH NEW PART! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

Two years in and not a flaw!

I bought a Mr. Cool 2 years ago and it has worked flawlessly. I purchase their cleaning kit every 6 months to maintain the extended warranty. The service takes me 1 hour. The Customer Service personnel are always helpful and friendly and the kit has everything you need to clean and refresh the system. I would highly recommend Mr. Cool for DIYers. RM, Naples, Fl.

Our warranty does not cover damage due to animals or similar. Due to the picture you provided of the board showing clear signs of feces and wires having been chewed on, this is not something that is covered under warranty as it will directly result in the board failing. As mentioned, we are more than happy to troubleshoot further and provide what assistance we can, and the part number was provided for you to order a new board to resolve this issue.

Excellent service from all the staff

Excellent service from all the staff. However, still waiting for a response to my request regarding defect in the unit that did not work upon receipt. All invoices and explanation was sent to Mr Cool and waiting for reimbursement of the invoice that was paid for refrigerant and servce.

Fairly simple DIY install

Fairly simple DIY install for my 5th gen DIY 12k system. Easy to follow directions. You may need an electrician to run a dedicated line to the unit if you don't already have one. Both inside air handler and outside compressor run extremely quiet.

Selling systems they claim are energy…

Selling systems they claim are energy efficient but they do not mert standard for rebates. The one I bought failed after 11 months and it cost me $2,159 to have it checked out twice, and pay for refrigerant. We finally got a replacement unit 4 months after the warranty issue. was proven and of course my husband had to put it in. It's working so far but it's only been a month.
I do not trust this company at all.
The CS reps try, the warranty reps ignore emails for a week.
Very sorry I chose this company.

We reach out on a Sunday to Mrcool customer service and we had an immediate response. With giving the necessary information in 3 day we had the outdoor unit and the fan motor delivered. We were impressed about the uncomplicated handling. We had only the shipping cost to pay.

The warranty is real

I had purchased and installed a Mr. Cool multi-zone DIY mini-split AC unit almost 5 years ago and recently had a potential warranty issue.
Dealing with Mr. Cool Service was pleasurable. They were easy to access and talk to. I had initially started contact via Email, but the service guy suggested we talk on the phone for better clarity.
Then it only took a cople of days to get a warranty approval and in a few more days, now I have a new replacement unit.
I made this review to let people know that Mr Cool is a reputable company, their products work well, and if there is a problem, they will help you and stand behind their warranty.

Mr Cool Customer Service

I needed a replacement line set cover for the outdoor compressor. Filled out a request form online and received a message back (next day) saying someone would get in touch. They called a day or two later to get cc info. The part arrived a few days later and all was good. I’ve used tech support several times during the installation process of two separate DIY systems over the last 5 years and the Mr. Cool staff has been always professional and prompt.

I have purchased 2 of these units

I have purchased 2 of these units, about 1 year apart. The newer one I was having this year to get my area cooled down. I contacted customer service. It took them a bit for them to get back to me, but it was within a day. They told me I need to clean it. Being a maintenance person, I had already done that, but I did not know about the fan behind the fins on the indoor unit. It was hard to see. Once I got that cleaned, it worked like it should.
I was upset though, because a local AC company would not work on Mr Cools. They said they couldn't get replacement parts from Mr. Cool.

Great product

Great product, easy installation and the price can't be beat. It cost me about $3K to install and I was quoted $9k to $10K for an installation. Bought through Costco which saves $500 and made a return simple. My only issue is the quality of the packaging. First unit was damaged, UPS had issues. Packaging needs to be better for shipping

I had a part replaced under warranty and the customer service team went above and beyond to have the issue diagnosed, part shipped out in timely manner and the issue was resolved. I can now enjoy working in my cool garage again thanks to the customer service team at MrCool.
