DO NOT USE MR. ELECTRIC!!
During a thunderstorm, half of my condo did not have electricity. I called Mr Electric because they had a rating of 4.8 out of 5 on Googleand Angie's List. Their electrician came and he looked at my fuse box inside my house and told me that half of my fuse was not getting voltage. He then proceeded to go outside and check the meter box. He came back and told me that there are 3 wires that looked old and needed to be replaced which would solve my problem. He said it would cost $429.00 if I wanted him to change it. I, of course, told him yes because I needed my condo to have electricity back again. I went outside with him and watched him changed the 3 tiny wires, each of them only 12 inches in length. It took him ONLY 5 minutes. When we got back into my condo, we were both SURPRISED to see that half of my condo WAS STILL WITHOUT electricity. He then went outside again and came back a few minutes later and told me that the problem WAS NOT the wires, but it was the meter box itself. He told me that I needed to call ONCOR to have them replace the meter. After Mr Electric technician left, I called ONCOR and told them the situation. They came out to check the situation. While ONCOR technicians was outside checking on the meter, they asked me what Mr Electric technician did. I told them that Mr Electric technician replaced 3 wires that he said was damaged. They ask to see the wires. When I showed them the wires, they were SHOCKED because they said that there was NOTHING WRONG with these wires and that Mr Electric technician should have called them first instead of replacing the wires. ONCOR changed the meter and FIXED my electricity problem. Mr Electric charged me $429.00 and DID NOT even fixed my problem!!! Mr Electric technician was at my place for about 30 minutes, 10 minutes of which was waiting in his car until the rain settled down. When I asked Mr Electric technician for a receipt, he said that it would be emailed to me. I NEVER gotten any receipt or invoice from them in my email. I later called Mr Electric four separate times to ask for my money back and ask to speak to a manager, but no manager ever called me back. I did not get any response from them at all!! I'm not sure how they got 4.8/5 rating from Google and Angi.com
Mr Electric failed mike kernea
The person came out and saw one wire that had been cut and left and he said the entire Trailer had to be rewired. Mr Electric put on estimate quantity 1 rewire cost 20 k and that was it. He was there maybe 5 minutes. Then I got a bill for 100 dollars I think and when I called Home office they said estimate is s free. When I called technician he said he maid a mistake billing me the 100 dollars . I said thank you and I really wondered how they do businesses this way. Maybe this was just a bad experience
Life saver
Life saver. Friday night and the toaster has knocked out the power and Mr Electric to the rescue. Talked me through everything. Totally recommend this service.
Jordan was on time and very thorough
Jordan was on time and very thorough. He assessed our problem and offered us more than 1 solution. he was friendly and efficient. we will ask for Jordan by name if we have a problem in the future.
Great work at a great price
I give Mr. Electric 5 stars. They were able to come out the day I called. Ed was very knowledgeable and efficient. Found and corrected the problem quickly. They were over $100 cheaper than another company I had called previously. I will definitely use them again.
Shocking
Did half the job, but still charged full price. Took no action to try and resolve the matter and get the job finished. Lacking in communication and customer service. They couldn't care less other than to chase up their invoices.
Essentially they charged me £165 for absolutely nothing. I had to commission a second electrician to do the job again, costing me double and wasting a lot of everyone's time.
I do not recommend this company whatsoever.

Mr Electric actually 10 stars
I would give Mr. Electric 10 stars if I could. Lightening struck our sump pump area and then surged through to to circuit breaker panel.Jeff Knotts our project manager and the guys who worked on our issue were simply amazing. Jeff was professional yet took the time to explain in terms that I could understand, what needed to be done. The guys with him were also amazing.
I would not recommend this company
I would not recommend this company. My experience was not what I expected. I was overcharged and had to reach out to the customer service several times before I could get anyone to call me back. When I did get a call back I was blamed for work that was done without my authorization. When I called and scheduled an appointment I was very specific with what I needed however when the technician came he did something else making the bill double plus I was charged a $40 dispatch fee which I was told I would not be charged if same day service was done which it was. The actual technician did a good job just not what I asked for.
I mentioned all this to the person who originally took my appointment and she said that I should have showed my phone to the technician even though its clearly listed on their site.
The manager I spoke with what not very warm and had a sarcastic tone with me. He was combative and not very friendly. I did get refunded for part of the service however the experience was not pleasant and I will never use or recommend them again.

Lee is polite and friendly
Lee is polite and friendly. The job took a few corners along the way but everything was fully explained by the Engineer all the way. They did extra things along the way and worked in awkward conditions to get my job done. Would recommend them if in Northampton.

BEWARE if you are considering…
BEWARE if you are considering contacting this business for services.
They have a mandatory $110 'safety inspection fee' if they come out which must be paid before they will address the problem you called about. (The inspection can be waived but the fee is required to be paid prior to service even if inspection is waived.)
Service fees and costs are additional. Total charge to replace a
faulty ground fault switch (GFI) $262.

keen to take your money, that’s about it
keen to take your money, not so keen to provide simple evidence of works and reports. have sent multiple enquiries via the site - nothing, called x3 times on friday and each time promised someone would call me back asap, but no calls. last person i spoke to simply told me she “didn’t know how to help”. when asked who can help, if not her, she said “don’t know”. am utterly appalled and strongly urge people to go with another company.

I needed to run a few Ethernet cables…
I needed to run a few Ethernet cables under my house. I used to run all my own until I had my knees replaced. I don't crawl anymore so I called the local electrician, Mr. Electric.
The electrician showed up on time and was clean and well spoken. He donned his footies and I explained what I wanted. He worked up an estimate on a brand new iPad, confirmed with his boss that the estimate was correct, then broke me the bad news. $1500 to install 3 wall boxes and run 3 wires. I figure that was a 3 hour job but even if I give them 5 hours (a real stretch) that's $300 an hour. I said thanks but no thanks. The technician put on a really good face, but he was clearly embarrassed by the amount of the estimate. I gave them two stars because the electrician was so nice and for the pretty yellow truck.
most amazing service call ever
most amazing service call ever, Mr Electric was called this morning by my customer in a pannick as her electrical was going haywire, when they came they found the issue instantly, did not charge my customer as it was a neutral ground that just needed to be connected, the fact he was so professional and courteous, I will always recommend these guys from here on out to all my customers, I am a Drywaller/painter, so i get asked a lot who i would use or recommend, thanks again for the awesome service.
We had what we thought was smoke alarm…
We had what we thought was smoke alarm beeping for 3 days. Even after dismembering the alarms the beeping continued. David Gross, who is with Mr. Electric, was able to find the problem, which was an alarm for the septic that the builders placed inside an intake vent! Who would have thought of this? David was dependable, very very knowledgable, and professional. He rewired all of our smoke alarms that we had disconnected, cleaned each one and charged a reasonable price. We could not have been more pleased with David's determination and skill in locating the problem and would most highly recommend him. We will use Mr. Electric again because of David Gross. Thank You!!!
I was robbed by Mr. Electric
I was robbed by them due to my lack of knowledge with electrical codes and inspection. The estimator led me down the path of the most expensive option and gave me no other option. I later found out that they could have done the job to pass inspection for far less money; they sold me a bunch of junk I didn't need and acted like the city government requires it. They charged me over $1,600 to run a wire for an above ground pool 25 feet. The box was only 25 feet from there. So 25 ft of wire and 3 receptacles was all they did for over $1,600! They charged me $327 for an electrical permit and I later found out that the permit only costs $76 with the metro codes department. I was railroaded. I know...buyer beware. Just trying to make sure I save someone else a ton of headaches and money by using a different company.
DVLA/OLEV rebate.
We have found the customer service of the Cornwall branch of this organisation to be poor. We paid them to supply and fit a home charging point for an electric vehicle. While the work was completed satisfactorily and the fitter was diligent and knowledgable the rest of the process has been utterly frustrating.
The process of claiming back the £500 DVLA/OLEV rebate -which is entirely led by the company is confusing and not helped by conflicting statements from staff about their work to process the details via DVLA/OLEV. We have been waiting for over 5 months for our rebate Admittedly they did tell us there is a 4-6 month wait for the rebate to be made however this was only explained to us after numerous phone calls asking for information.
The company made repeated assertions that forms had been submitted etc. We have a number of emails from the DVLA/OLEV who denied receipt of such forms.
We have now been informed of a £500 credit note on our account with Mr Electric and when we ask for this to be sent to our bank account we are given some waffle by the company director about online processes and no mention of our rebate.
We have started a formal complaint procedure against this branch of Mr Electric in regard to their handling of our rebate and their apparent administrative ineptitude.
They were very nice and I am very unhappy- work still incomplete.
The individuals who serviced our home were not rude. I do not want to misrepresent this situation. Our 100 + year old home with under serviced electricity, was in over-use of available electricity. We experienced an electric surge which resulted in a small but very frightening fire. Mr Electric came out and resolved that situation. The problem resulted in recognition of a second floor problem. Mr E. said they would reroute 2nd floor electric into singular electric box for that floor. They cut up my entire house second and third floor in an effort to locate the wiring and left 3' square openings on the 3rd floor and many 3 x 4" cuts all over the second floor. They neither said anything about the destruction to my home nor the fact that they DID NOT route all of the second floor electricity to the new box they installed. For all of the half done work and the demolition to my home I called them back for a review of all of the mess they created. Still being very nice and polite they indicated that those areas of destruction were not their responsibility. The more time goes by the more irritated I am about the financial obligation and the lack of professionalism with regard to the destruction and the work not completed.
