MSB Solicitors are the most outstanding…

MSB Solicitors are the most outstanding professional Solicitors with a personal touch I have ever encountered. I had a problem with my Daughter regarding a court case due to none payments of fines.I contacted MSB and liaised With Emma Carey who was professional to an exceptional high standard. Emma listened to our issues and concerns then dedicated a specific specialist Solicitor to deal with our case . Dan a specialist solicitor in Emma’s team dealt with the case in a professional and also caring way with my daughter. MSB then dealt with the case and got an incredible result for my daughter she was able to pay the fines out of court and not receive a criminal record which would have impacted her career. I would recommend MSB solicitors, they are professional to a very high standard with a personal touch.A special Thanks to Emma Carey and Dan .MSB a highly motivated professional company with a personal touch. Thanks.

Msb acted on sale and subsequent purchase of our properties. We were in a fairly difficult chain, and the property team worked above and beyond to secure us our forever home. I have also used msb for remortgaging purposes and will return to msb for future remortgaging

Property purchase fell through...

My property purchase fell through as a direct result of MSB Solicitors’ incompetence. I would strongly advise against using them for conveyancing. My experience was incredibly frustrating due to a complete lack of communication, delays at every stage, and an overall unprofessional approach to handling my case.

Despite repeated attempts to get updates, my solicitor was frequently unavailable, including during crucial moments like the day before completion. When I escalated my concerns to a supervising partner (Head of Property), my request was ignored, and my case was passed to someone who had no prior involvement, further delaying progress.

The Head of Property's attitude throughout the process was nothing short of disgraceful. He was rude, dismissive, and spoke to me in an incredibly condescending manner — like a child — which he even acknowledged doing. His approach was not only unprofessional, but also intimidating and demeaning. As a client going through a deeply stressful situation, his behaviour made things exponentially worse. It is completely unacceptable for someone in his position to treat clients with such arrogance and disregard.

To make matters worse, the Managing Partner was rude and unprofessional, showing a complete disregard for my concerns. The poor communication and lack of accountability made an already stressful process significantly worse. If you value clear communication, efficiency, and professionalism, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Absolutely terrible conveyancing…

Absolutely terrible conveyancing "service". Diabolical. If I could leave a minus score, I would. So slow, they put the sale at risk of the buyer putting the property back on the market. The stress they cause right down the chain is incalculable. Absolutely terrible. The only thing that got any attention after a simple flat purchase dragged on and on for 5 months was threatening a formal complaint.
Absolutely terrible.

Diabolical

This review is part 2 to the one below. This firm of solicitors failed to exchange on the date set by going on radio silence. Then after a weekend they sent my buyers funds to my solicitor. Then we couldn't exchange and complete on the date set because they went on radio silence again and were told the person to do it wasn't there. Yesterday they failed to exchange and complete because they didn't respond all morning, then told my solicitor my buyer had documents missing. My buyer had sent all requested documents by recorded post 4 weeks prior. So much for taking 4 weeks to sign off compliance. So day 3 today and my house funds are stuck in my solicitors account and my solicitor and estate agent, buyer and myself are tearing our hair out. Avoid at all costs and if you are unlucky enough to be in a chain with them, then get yourself a prescription of valium, because believe me you'll need it. They cause untold stress, misery and extra financial costs.

Unprofessional and inconsiderate.

MSB’s handling of my case was marked by poor communication and information, and a lack of understanding of my circumstances. They failed to inform me in a timely manner of key information, leading to unnecessary costs and stress. Their responses were often unclear or inaccurate, including the incorrect assumption that I was purchasing a shared ownership property. Additionally, they failed to prioritise key aspects of my case, causing delays that could have been avoided with proper diligence and transparency.

I do not recommend these to anyone.

Steer clear

We had the misfortune of our buyer using these solicitors in a purchase recently. Whilst we did not deal directly with MSB, they caused significant additional stress to the entire chain by being slow, unresponsive and generally an obstruction to timely completion. Fortunately we could liaise directly with our buyer, who had to chase MSB at every turn for even the most simple task. As an example, on a proposed date of exchange, less than a week prior to completion, my buyer rang to get an update and was told the solicitor on her case was off (she hadn't been told this) and the other solicitor had already left for the day at 15:30, without any update on exchange. Needless to say we did not exchange that day.

If you have a choice, steer clear and use any of the myriad other competent solicitors for conveyancing. If you find they are somewhere else in your chain, then good luck.

Awful experience

I am writing this review to hopefully help to stop someone going through what we have. MSB were representing our buyer. 10 months on from the buyer putting an offer in on the property we have have been told that she will be pulling out of the sale because she can't get the financing for it. How can it have got to 10 months to find this out?
Our solicitor and estate agent were constantly asking for updates on our behalf, only to be ignored most of the time. Six months in from the start of the sale we were told by the MSB solicitor that they were hoping to complete the following week. We then began to pack up our house which resulted in us living out of boxes for the next four months as the completion didn't take place. 10 months on we have now lost the sale on our dream house as the chain has collapsed. How this firm is getting away with treating people like this I'll never know. I can see from other reviews that us being kept in the dark and being given radio silence when asking for updates is not an isolated case.

Slow isn't the word!

This lot were acting as the conveyancer for my buyer. We agreed a price during the first half of July 2024. I dutifully filled out the required sales forms, the TA6 form etc., and sent them on to my conveyancer, who in turn sent them on. From that moment absolute radio silence from MSB Solicitors. We requested completion at the end of September, nothing. We then requested completion mid-November, nothing. Continual requests for responses, continual chasing. Nothing. Then they asked a question about the TA6 on the 25th November, 4 months later, which we immediately responded too. More chasing, more following up. Then Mid-January 2025, MSB Solicitors e-mailed, 'we are responding in a timely manner', and said the buyers mortgage offer expires on the 20th Feb. and we all need to hurry (no way, it's you we're all waiting for). The entire conveyancing process should take around 10 to 12 weeks. But MSB Solicitors have taken 4 months just to ask a question on the TA6 form. It's now the end of Jan. 2025 and still waiting. Avoid this lot, they've cost me 4 months of mortgage payments outside of my deal (you can't refinance whilst Sold STC.) Slow isn't the word. Avoid this lot if you ever actually intend to move house. This lot are more than slow.

MSB condone child neglect and abuse.

MSB condone child neglect and abuse.

I was involved in court proceedings regarding my daughter. In this time the courts found all allegations against me false and a lot was uncovered in place of my daughters living situation and health neglect.

Despite all allegations being proven "not to have happened" by the judge, MSB would continue to hide behind these allegations, instead of moving forward with contact starting after nearly two years, they would help the mother find way to slow things down and LIE about any issues.

They lied and hid clear facts from the courts about the life my daughter was living in, this includes physical abuse between mother and her partner.

These three will lie under oath & completely disregard the basic hygiene neglect (my daughter had to have an operation because of this neglect), just to prolong their financial gain from legal aid.

This company are disgusting and need shutting down to be completely honest.

Awful

I’m not usually one to bother leaving a review but how our house chain have been treated by MSB warrants this post.
From ignoring emails, repeating information requests that had already been answered, refusing to speak to any party including their own client, lying about where documents were and going radio silent on the day intended for exchange led to the collapse of our chain which had been in process for 5 months. Totally avoid if you hope to buy a house with this firm, they’ll be a dead end. I’ve never know a “professional company” with so little regard for how their actions (or lack of) affect the people they are meant to act on behalf of.

The worst experience I've ever had!

My buyers used MSB Solicitors and the experience was awful for me, my estate agents, my solicitors and even the buyers themselves. They had the phone put down on them, promises of someone calling back (which they never did) as well as promised deadlines which were not met. Selling and buying is an extremely stressful process anyway, but made so much worse by the incompetence of this firm. We should have exchanged ages ago, but ended up exchanging and completing on the same day and this was 2 weeks after the original deadline to complete! Just awful!

Appalling Conveyancer

Absolutely appalling solicitor, I cannot stress enough how much people need to avoid using MSB (certainly for conveyancing anyway, I can't speak for their other departments).

Whilst MSB were not appointed by us, we've just had the unfortunate experience of having them instructed for the purchase of another property in our chain - which after being at a standstill for months has now collapsed.

We thought at first they had just taken on too much work, as solicitors often do, because they were slow to respond to enquiries and even their own client struggled to get hold of them, but it soon became apparent they are disgracefully incompetent. Their client had raised verbal complaints on multiple occasions, and even after a formal complaint they proceeded to do nothing to give the case any greater attention. On occasions where they did engage with the various individuals chasing them; from all number of solicitors, estate agents and mortgage brokers, in addition to their own client, they would request information they had been sitting on for months or give excuses ranging from 'it's with compliance for final review' to the good old 'our systems are down'. There were even times where MSB would email individuals they knew no longer worked at their respective companies (it really did drag on for that long), proceeding to ignore the Out Of Office warnings they subsequently received – wasting yet more time.

I can only imagine they offer attractive pricing, but in the grand scheme of buying a home is saving £500/£1000 really worth the additional stress and hassle this solicitor will unquestionably cause? - and that is if completion is even achieved before the chain collapses.
If only they put as much effort into their day job - conveyancing - as they do marketing and being a 'great place to work', then maybe their statements and awards would carry some credibility.

It's been more than 20 weeks now since I've instructed them for the conveyancing of a Buy to let flat and until now we are not near anywhere for the completion date. I think they act very slow and mis managing the case. I believe they are just after the profit and not the customer care. They are reluctant in answering emails and phone calls! I won't recommend this company.

I entrusted MSB with my family law…

I entrusted MSB with my family law case, only to be met with excessive fees and a lack of timely action. The case, which involved numerous false allegations and the removal of my child from the country, was mishandled and MSB did not protect my or my daughter's interest. Despite the significant costs, their lack of action resulted in an outcome that permanently separated me from my daughter. The firm did not advise on any further action after the negative outcome and even during legal proceedings did not discuss strategy. The UK family law system is broken and corrupt. I doubt it's possible to find a firm that does not prioritize profit over client well-being. You might be better off representing yourself in court (acting as a litigant in person). Also see google reviews. reviewsolicitors.co.uk is a scam that does not allow negative reviews.
