What was excellent about our trip to Mt. High:
Driving distance. Ease of parking. Ease of buying lift tickets on-line. The people/employees were all very helpful and friendly. The food available. The chill atmosphere.

When others headed to the beach for spring break we headed to mountain high. We stayed in wrightwood and enjoyed the slopes for two days. Our experience was great; discounted ticket pricing for the week, good snow, and friendly staff.

EXTREMELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!

We were a party of 10 adults and children arriving at your resort at 820 am that Sunday am. I went to the VIP window 12 immediately because I had 3 e-tickets needing to be processed. We also needed 7 children ski rentals, 2 adult ski rentals, 4 child lift tickets and 4 private lessons with add on. Going in I already knew what we needed but the woman at VIP window 12 was not interested in hearing what I needed instead she wanted to handle it her way n kept on questioning me on the free child tickets. We had 3 paid adult lift tickets and we had 3 child at 6 or under. I wasn’t sure why it was so difficult to understand. She was incompetent in handling a large group n refused to listen to me when I had everything summed up already. We also had a private lesson voucher from 2 months ago so instead of needing to pay for 4 private lessons, I should only have been charged for 3. She made a mistake and overcharged me for an extra private lesson. Her attitude was condescending to me and irritable. Because I felt that the total was more than I expected, but I didn’t figure out where the mistake was at the time so I asked her if she charged me again on the e-tickets. She said ‘ Of course not! Why would I?’ But obviously she made a mistake somewhere. She kept me at the window for more than 30 mins. She said that our son shouldn’t have gotten free lift tic because on the voucher his age was written as 7. It was probably a mistake because the aunt was the one who took him to the mountain 2 months ago. My son took a half day group lesson and his aunt was going to get him a private lesson but later on felt he didn’t need it that’s why it was canceled. I believe his aunt mistaken his age as 7 instead of 6. The woman at window 12 was rude to me about this thinking I was lying?! And gave me dirty look. Anyhow, even though I knew something was wrong with the charges but we were running late for the rentals as she kept us there for so long upsetting all the people behind me, I felt I needed to leave immediately to make it to the private lessons at 10am. We were rushing like crazy but thank goodness we made it just on time.

Our daughter was only 3 and it was her first time skiing. I had to be with her on the magic carpet. The male staff attending the magic carpet looked like half drunk. He was caught falling asleep instead of helping n watching out for the safety of people at the magic carpet. He screamed at me ‘ M’am You can’t walk on it, why would you do that’ really loud. There wasn’t a sign saying I needed to step on the other side if I wasn’t wearing skis. I had to get off the belt with my 3-year-old since it’s her first time. Instead of screaming at the guests, I would suggest putting a sign there to alert staff to step on the other side to get off the belt if they aren’t wearing skis?

We sent an email to the supervisor about our horrible experience. She said she will investigate the situation. It has been already over a week without a full explanation or conclusion.

Trails decent, management of facility sometimes poor

The trails and mountain are generally good, but management of the facility and customer service were not up to par the first two times I visited the West Resort during the 2018-2019 season.

During my first visit to Mountain High (West Resort) in December 2018, I came with a friend who was very new to skiing. I asked the person at the ticket counter to direct us to the chairlifts that lead to beginner trails, and both the attendant and even her mentor/supervisor standing next to her pointed to the Blue Ridge Express, which is definitely not for beginners. Fortunately, we ran into another attendant who was greeting customers outside (and was much more polite and knowledgeable), and she told us to avoid that chairlift. If we had listened to the two staff members at the ticket counter, my friend, who was a beginner skier, could have been put in a dangerous and precarious situation.

On my 2nd visit to Mountain High West Resort, my friend's 1-2-3-Free Season Pass card did not scan at the chairlifts, despite the fact that she took it outside of her jacket and placed it in front of the scanner multiple times, even with the help of the chairlift attendant. My friend had to walk to the ticket counter and ask why it wasn't working. After waiting for about 10-20 minutes, a staff member returned with the pass, and she acted very annoyed and impatient toward my friend, claiming that it works fine. My friend was simply waiting at the counter and hadn't said a word, and the attendant came back irritated, practically reprimanding her, even though my friend was the one who was inconvenienced.

I have skied a few more times at Mountain High after that because the trails are decent and my friend wanted to complete her 1-2-3 pass, and I haven't encountered any other major issues since then. But my first two visits definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

First Time at Mountain High

First Time at Mountain High, we had a blast! Loved all the features on the mountain. I wish some of the lifts were faster, but got a bunch of runs in none the less.

Although I purchased online

Although I purchased online, and arrived at 8:30, I stood in the “VIP” line for 20 min. While everyone in the non-VIP line was helped and then an employee said I could go to the other line. Also, I waited in the rental line another 20 minutes. The employees were working diligently but I felt that they needed at least one or two more employees to move the process along. I will rent at home next time. Cheaper and quicker.

Great people working there and a very local feel. I would take my lunch if I were you the food leaves a lot to be desired. Conditions this year were spectacular and definitely worth looking at the season pass. For 299 you only have to go four times and it pays for itself. Love this place.

Ski rental is time consuming

Ski rental is time consuming. Computers should be able to bring up your past info. The outdoor cement has holes in it and lots of dead trees along the slopes. I did like the slopes!

Great time, but understaffed.

We had a great time at the slopes, but we couldn't help but notice you were a little understaffed. There were only two or three people working the rental area, and there was only one waitress available at the restaurant, which had no available tables. Other than that, we had a blast!
