One day of use and a life time of regret
I cancelled after one day of disappointing use. The service is not great for Macs, PC's or androids. A month later I was charged. I logged back in to the website. I had to reset my password to do so. I cancelled again. I then contacted "customer support." I then got a condescending email claiming that my second cancellation was the first. Be ready to file a credit dispute if you use this website.

Charged for Over Two Years Without Billing Emails
I subscribed to MUBI for six months, drawn to its curated selection, thoughtful approach to cinema, and the appealing discounted price. I watched only a few films in the first months, as I either didn’t have the time or the titles I wanted weren’t available. As life moved on, I stopped logging in.
I was under the impression I had canceled the subscription — possibly more than once — until I recently discovered I’d been charged monthly for over two and a half years, amounting to more than €300.
I was shocked. I tried logging in using all the email addresses I might have used, cancel the subscription, but couldn’t figure it out.
My bank was unable to block the recurring charges and eventually advised me to cancel the card.
During that entire time, I received no monthly billing emails, no payment confirmations, no reminders — only the original subscription confirmation, and, much later, an email notifying me of a declined payment. That final email is what allowed me to log back in and finally cancel the subscription.
I take full responsibility for not checking sooner. Still, for a platform that presents itself as refined, curated, and intentional, this level of silence around billing feels out of step. Transparency — even in quiet, administrative matters — is part of a brand’s integrity.
I’ve always spoken highly of MUBI and continue to admire its cinematic vision. But this experience felt misaligned with the clarity and honesty I believed the platform stood for.

I had great customer service from a representative a while back (unfortunately, I don’t remember their name), so I wanted to say many thanks and show my appreciation. It means a lot to be treated well by a company!
Absolutely appalling service
Absolutely appalling service, if I could give it zero stars I would. Films advertised were suddenly "unavailable" once you signed up. Contacted customer services to cancel immediately after signing up and it took them over one week to reply. When they did reply they said "We do not offer refunds and that MUBI is an internet database where people rate movies even if Mubi doesn't show them". Interesting business tactic they have. After three more attempts at contacting their non existent service and getting fobbed off by the disinterested Guillherme (I think he's the only customer service they have) and he doesn't do much except point blank refuse to put you through to a manager. He's the big boss and what he says goes. Well let's see what Trading Standards have to say about this sham company. One big scam don't know how they've got away with it to now

Such a bad choice/lack of content that I cancelled my offer early and still felt ripped off! Not to mention the majority of their library isn't actually available to stream, which I find very misleading.

i thought the big unique movie selection is cool, but almost EVERY movie i wanted to watch on it wasn't accessible 99% even though i payed 12€ a month. it was hard to find the cancelling option. lots of wasted money.

I’m yet another customer who is being charged for the subscription after cancelling. I wrote to customer service and even after a follow-up I’m yet to get a response. I only watched one movie that now turned out to be a very expensive one!
