Great Email Service

If you want a no-nonsense email service with great support, excellent prices, and zero tolerance for SPAM, look no further than MXroute. They have a quality service.

No nonsense

No nonsense, professional, hands-on service. They do not suffer fools, or spammers, but when the brown stuff hits the fan they are wading in with a net rapidly scooping out stuff for your and the other customers' benefit.

Long-term customer.

Anyone rating MXRoute with less than 5 stars shouldn’t have been an mxroute customer to begin with.

MXRoute is a no-bullshit service, which works overtime to ensure your LEGITIMATE emails arrive to the inboxes of your customers and colleagues. Anyone with a negative experience with MXRoute is someone who didn’t deserve access to MXRoute’s excellent customer service. MXRoute has zero tolerance for sending bullshit such as spammers, cold emails, and phishing, and as a legitimate customer, you will thank them for it.

Email Service Review

Email Service Review
Uptime & Technical Performance
The service maintains approximately 99.9% uptime, which I consistently monitor through server logs.
Major Issues with Email Blocking
Frequent legitimate email blocking: The admins regularly block legitimate emails both incoming and outgoing, including messages from:

Banks
Major companies
Important business contacts

When you discover these blocks, the support team is unprofessional and makes you feel like an idiot, even though they were the ones who arbitrarily decided to ban or block important communications.
Poor Customer Support
This isn't a one-time occurrence - it happens constantly. The support staff is:

Rude and unprofessional
Poor at reading comprehension
Quick to tell customers to "f*** off" instead of admitting system issues

I plan to return after moving services to post the actual support logs as evidence.
Account Deletion Without Warning
Reading other reviews confirms they will delete your account without warning. If you don't believe this, join their Discord - you won't have to search far to see ongoing issues.
Overly Aggressive Spam Filtering
Their spam filters are extremely aggressive, blocking legitimate emails including:

Doctor appointment confirmations
Bank communications
Important business correspondence

This has cost me thousands of dollars, and I suspect the true impact is much worse since their policy seems to be "delete first, hope for the best, and hope customers don't notice."
Financial Impact & Warning
The blocked emails have caused significant financial damage. I don't even know the full extent because legitimate emails are being deleted without notification.
Warning: If your email matters for business or important communications, stay away from this service.
Personal Use Consideration
This service might work for personal email, but be aware of the aggressive spam filtering that blocks legitimate messages.
Final Note
I'm reluctant to post this review because it may hurt me personally and financially, but I feel obligated to warn potential customers.
To the admin: Do not remove my account or delete my emails. We have not violated any Terms of Service.

Hello,

After a thorough review of your support tickets and recent communications, we have decided to terminate your account for a violation of our policy regarding customer conduct. Specifically, we will not tolerate rude or threatening behavior towards our staff.

In Ticket #971999, you accused our support team of being "rude and unprofessional" and costing you money. You also stated that you would route your SMTP to another supplier and that we should "deesculate" the ticket, suggesting that you no longer needed our support.

The issue you were experiencing was due to an email being sent from a domain, ducktv.xyz, that was in a pending deletion status at the registrar. Our support agent, Albert Lento, clearly explained the technical reason for the blocked email and provided proof of the domain's status. Your claim that you were told to "f*** off" or were threatened at any point is false, and your public review is a continuation of this aggressive behavior.

We no longer wish to do business with you. Your account and all associated services have been terminated.

Exceptional value - Exceptional People

Exceptional value. And a healthy hatred of spammers so if you are tying to do something shady, stick to google, you will not last long here.
Jarland might have saved Dills dog, but he saved me my 15 years of email accounts, as well as offering a great solution for my friends businesses.
It is so unusual for a business to not rip you off or nickel and dime you. Through the control panel you can also import from your old email servers so switching to MXroute can happen real-time with zero downtime and zero data loss. The golden standard.
And I love the honest and human status updates. Easiest decision I ever made.

I took time to read all the 1* reviews of mxroute

I took time to read all the 1* reviews. All had to do with account terminations due to violations of mxroute TOS. The TOS are very clear AND very strict. I understand this. Web reputation is very important, and mxrouting.net, the email server I am assigned to, has a "Favorable" web reputation per Talos Intelligence. What this means is that emails sent via this domain will likely NOT appear on any block lists. this means increased email delivery. Banning and/or eliminating spammers helps maintain this reputation. Please visit the Talos Intelligence Reputation Center website and input your domain mail server and see for yourself. Then, you will understand the crankiness of the 1* reviews and appreciate that mxroute works to ensure your legitimate emails get through.

Good value for money email server platform

I have been using this service for six years and am a satisfied customer. I have multiple domains and multiple email accounts for each domain. There is currently no alternative that can provide this at the same price point. The service is reliable albeit a bit slow at times. As support is limited, you do need to be comfortable with using the online documents and forums, which I am.

Be careful! Don't try mxroute lightly.

——
For all customers who want to try Mxroute because it is cheap, please be cautious. Once you make a payment, they will not provide a refund, no matter what your reason is.
Please carefully review the refund policy before purchasing.
——

I subscribed to mxroute's DA Small service three years ago.
On July 15, 2025, I discovered that I was unable to receive or send emails. I found that my credit card had expired, causing mxroute's automatic payment to fail on July 12, 2025.

So on July 15, I subscribed to the BF2024 Medium/$30.00 USD service. Everything was fine at first.

However, on July 18, mxroute initiated an automatic charge using my new credit card.

As a result, my account now has two mxroute subscriptions.

Since I only use Mxroute for one domain's email and rarely use it throughout the year, I clearly do not need two subscriptions.

On July 18, I created a ticket and requested Mxroute to cancel the old subscription and issue a refund.
However, Mxroute refused.

Now I can only file a dispute and seek assistance from the credit card company.

We appreciate when customers share their experiences, even if they are negative. This review offers a helpful reminder to review refund policies before purchasing, not just with us but with any hosting provider.

Now, here are the facts:

This customer had an active subscription with us for three years. That subscription renewed automatically on July 18, using the card on file, just like it had in the previous years. No cancellation was submitted before the renewal. This is how automated renewals work in almost every hosting company, and it was processed correctly under our Terms of Service.

Three days earlier, the customer manually purchased a new promotional plan we were offering. That plan has more storage and a lower long-term price. Wanting to keep the cheaper plan is understandable. What is not acceptable is claiming the older renewal was unauthorized after the fact and demanding a refund without ever having canceled the original service.

The first ticket said, “I may have placed a duplicate order.” It did not request cancellation or mention any problem with the charge. The story changed only after the renewal went through, and the customer realized they preferred the cheaper plan.

We do not refund services that renew correctly when there was no attempt to cancel them in advance. This policy is consistent and exists to prevent abuse. We want to be flexible when customers make honest mistakes, but we also expect honesty and timely communication in return.

For anyone else reading this, if you are ever unsure about billing or renewal dates, we are happy to help. Just reach out before the renewal takes place.

6 years of trust destroyed in a day - Avoid at all costs

We were loyal MXroute customers for over 6 years, using their service for legitimate B2B email communications for our business and our clients. Unfortunately, due to a mistake by a single EMPLOYEE who sent unsolicited emails to a lead database, MXroute instantly terminated our entire account — affecting multiple domains and mailboxes — without prior notice or a chance to correct the issue.

While I completely understand their need to protect their infrastructure from spam, shutting down a long-standing customer with no prior history of abuse, and refusing to even grant access to our data or offer an export of our mailboxes, is deeply unprofessional and disproportionate.

This one mistake by a staff member should not have led to a total business shutdown, with no way to recover critical business and client emails built over years. It is an extremely rigid policy, and they showed no willingness to consider the context or help recover our data.

If you are a business relying on MXroute for critical communication, please be aware that one rogue employee — or even a simple error — can cost you access to all your data, with no support or flexibility from MXroute. They do not appear to have a fair or balanced procedure to protect loyal customers.

What is worse, their support confirmed that all data is deleted immediately at the time of termination — without any investigation, no chance to recover years of legitimate business email, and no way to export critical data.

We are extremely disappointed and would advise other companies to think twice before entrusting essential business email to a provider that can instantly lock you out of your own history without recourse.

//////
EDIT 1

I fully agree with MXroute’s policy of protecting their platform from spam — and I’ve taken full responsibility from day one for the actions of my employee.

But if you believe a rogue employee can’t exist in a business, you don’t understand how businesses work. We had 6 years of clean, legitimate use — wiped instantly, with no chance to recover data that impacts not just us, but our clients.

One of your own agents told me:

“All data is deleted at the time of termination, so there is no bringing back the account.”

So yes — you destroy data first, then investigate later. That’s not professionalism.

And while I contacted support multiple times through your ticket system without a reply, posting here got a response within an hour. That speaks for itself.

EDIT 2 ///

Most unprofessional service I have ever received.. Getting an F you directly from the owner.

Thanks for this review. It gives us a great opportunity to be crystal clear about who we are, and who we’re not, for.

> due to a mistake by a single EMPLOYEE who sent unsolicited emails to a lead database

That’s called sending spam. It's not a gray area, it's not a harmless oops. It's the exact kind of activity our platform is engineered to repel. The overwhelming majority of businesses out there operate successfully without sending 1497 (conservative estimate) unsolicited marketing emails. If your business model depends on that, this was never the right place for you.

> refusing to even grant access to our data or offer an export of our mailboxes, is deeply unprofessional and disproportionate

Over time, we’ve learned the hard way that any leniency here is interpreted by spammers as a welcome mat. Every time we “make an exception,” it invites ten more abusers through the door. We made a choice: serve our good customers, or be a safe haven for bad actors. We choose to serve the ones who do things right. Our policies are strict because they have to be. If we’re not militant, we become part of the spam problem and everyone suffers for it. Including the very people we’re here to protect.

> It is an extremely rigid policy

Correct. It works.

> and they showed no willingness to consider the context or help recover our data

The time for context was before you gave Ramon unrestricted access and no oversight. Not after the damage was done.

> If you are a business relying on MXroute for critical communication

You’re making our case for us. The vast majority of the businesses who trust us with their email are too professional to ever find themselves in this situation. They vet their hires. They set boundaries. They don’t let “rogue employees” mass-email scraped lists for over a week.

> one rogue employee

If your employee can nuke your entire email reputation in nine days with no one noticing, your issue isn’t with us. Your issue is with your internal controls.

> or even a simple error

Let’s not redefine “error” to mean “1497 unsolicited marketing emails sent over 9 days.” That’s not a mistake. That’s a sustained campaign. The kind spammers run.

> They do not appear to have a fair or balanced procedure to protect loyal customers

We do. You ran into it on July 2. That procedure protects our loyal customers from reputational damage caused by activity like yours.

> without any investigation

False. The logs and commentary we shared with you were the result of a detailed, manual investigation by a human. Not a script. Not an automated flag. We reviewed the facts, then acted.

> you destroy data first, then investigate

Why would we terminate for a policy violation before we investigate it? That doesn’t even make sense.

> And while I contacted support multiple times through your ticket system without a reply, posting here got a response within an hour. That speaks for itself.

That’s because support tickets receive professional responses from someone actively sitting at a desk. Bad reviews from spammers receive responses via cell phone while I’m sitting on the toilet (I’m in the shower for this edit). By all means, dig yourself a deeper hole here.

> would advise other companies to think twice before entrusting essential business email to a provider that can instantly lock you out of your own history without recourse

If you're being honest, what you're really saying is: “Spammers shouldn’t use MXroute.” And on that point, we wholeheartedly agree.

> Most unprofessional service I have ever received

Your version of professionalism is extremely skewed. I'll admit, a lot of people share your definition of it. That's why they come to me, because they're tired of this concept of "professionalism" standing in the way of being provided with the service they were promised when they paid for it. We stand up for all of our customers against the one who demands that all the rest suffer for their benefit.

Best email service, unless you're a spammer.

I have been using MXroute since the middle of last year. It has been a wonderful experience. I own a few domains and able to offer an email for friends and family if they want one without being charged per account, i just have to divide the storage. They also have a couple webmail services. Their in-house Roundcube then if you want a more feature rich option they have Crossbox whom themselves are working on an overhaul with new features etc. You can also use whatever email client you want Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, Gmail app for mobile, the list goes on.

Yes MXroute has a strict 0 tolerance policy on spammers. No one wants spam in their mailbox and are going to report it, which in turn hurts all of their other users like myself as the reputation of that ip has been damaged. Which in turn means now my emails have increased odds of ending up in a spam folder. All these 1 star reviews are spammers who are butthurt they got caught. Some of them are hilarious.

Not for noobs

Not for noobs, and it's the best provider I found around.

The best PRO of MXroute is that you pay for the space, not for the accounts, this is great for small companies, website emails that changes often owners (like companies with an high turnover) and specially for website emails that are barely used.

I even appreciate their care to ban immediately spammers, this is a great PRO.

I needed to deal sometimes with the support, and it was great, obviously they expect that you ARE NOT A NOOB. Because if you are, they'll correctly tell you to better read their docs.

Have you ever been to a boutique hotel?

Have you ever stayed at a boutique hotel? The kind of place where it’s clear that someone isn’t just running a hospitality business, but has actually worked in the industry, understands the typical frustrations, and has taken thoughtful steps to solve them? A place where “hospitality” feels like more than just a word?

That’s exactly how I would describe my experience with MXRoute. Over the past year, they’ve provided reliable mail servers for multiple domains, helped configure DNS settings for proper email deliverability, and consistently delivered support that feels like I’m talking to one of my trusted coworkers.

I’ve built and maintained mail servers before, but I no longer have the time to manage them in a way that ensures reliability and happy users. After doing some research, I came across MXRoute and decided to give them a try. A year later, I’ve become a raving fan and recommended them to several others (at least one of which has become a longer term customer).

I’ve subscribed to their subreddit and watched support requests handled in real time—quickly, clearly, and with respect. I’ve also seen them enforce their policies that protect the service from abuse, which gives me confidence that my email reliability won’t be compromised by someone else’s misuse.

Thanks @MXRoute

I'm normally not into writing reviews, but I have the feeling it can actually make a difference here, so why not tell the facts. Dishonest and unprofessional – avoid at all costs

Paid for a lifetime account, only to have it cancelled a few months later without refund. I didn’t send any spam or harm their platform in any way.

The owner was rude and condescending (“If you actually read what you wrote you'd see that this makes absolutely zero sense”) and refused to admit he was wrong. Instead of handling things professionally, he chose to shut down my account and keep the money.

Grow up, take responsibility, and treat paying customers with respect. This is not how a serious service should operate.

We were hoping for this review, thanks for playing along.

You violated two forbidden use cases in our policy:
1. ANY use of the instantly.ai service in connection with ours
2. “Warmup” services

Your account was suspended, and a very clear demand was made: Inform us of when you are no longer violating our policies. Instead of growing up, taking responsibility, and admitting that you were wrong for attempting to force us to accept your policy violations, you chose to argue with us about it. You and several other spammers appear to be working from the same script, so you were made an example of. The final stage in that example was a bad review so everyone can hear our story of dealing with you. Much appreciated.

Spammers are still unwelcome at MXroute, and there are zero workarounds. If you think you've found one, you're the next to be kicked out. It's not your job to tell us what we should and shouldn't allow, it's your job to choose a service provider that allows the things you are doing. We're not one of them. You chose poorly.

Great service at a great price! I've been using MXRoute for over a year.
If you understand some basics and can read instructions, setup is clearly documented and pretty easy to setup.
They take spam filtering very seriously and are constantly in tune with server / services status. MXroute offers some bells and whistles similar to other services, but I always prefer function to form. What you get is a very solid email platform.
