I'm very dissatisfied with my inspection, the inspector call me on my phone after inspection and said there was only 1 fault with the new vehicle so I went ahead and brought it. To my surprise there is lots of faults with the vehicle and if I had none this I would of not brought it!

We were looking at a category N vehicle so decided to go with My Car Inspections as they seemed to specialise in insurance write offs. I cannot thank Jim enough for his time, patience & professionalism, especially as he was mucked about quite a bit by the seller. Definitely worth the money spent as based on the final report & follow-up conversation with Jim we decided to back out of the sale. I would highly recommend this company & the service they offer.

Being the seller of the car, the potential Buyer had informed me that he was booking the inspection through this company. I had the call to confirm the time/date a day or so before from their head office.

Shortly before his arrival, the inspector called me. I greeted him, showed him the car. He was very rude and didn't seem to want to interact at all (I didn't even know the inspection procedure, the company doesn't even brief you..).

I asked if a test drive would be needed, and he said yes and he could trust that he is insured (like I'm going to take your word for it Mr. Random car inspector) - in future, show your identification and proof of insurance up front, and let the OWNER of the car know what you will be doing with it.

Oh, and if you want an inspector who will get his hands all greased up with oil etc., and then touching every surface on the inside of your car, then pick this company. BAD EXPERIENCE.

Anyway, he made the mistake of telling me that the majority of the car inspectors are RAC / AA workers just doing this as sort of a 'contracting job' to make a bit more money. So take the safe option - book with RAC / AA.

I asked them to look at a cat d motor that had been advertised, so pleased I thought with my head and not my heart as I loved the car. Turns out that although the car had an MOT with no advisories, the standard of repair was poor and I was looking at quite a few issues to sort out immediately and lots that could come up in the future. I made the request for inspection on Friday, the vehicle was initially booked on for Monday, but he actually did it on Saturday, report ready by 9am on Monday morning. Very pleased with the service all round.

I had been put off [external reference] and [external reference] due to reviews so thought i would give mycarinspections a try . Firstly it was rather embarrasing as the day of the inspection came and i advised the seller it was a morning appointment so he said he would take the morning off work . Morning went and the seller contacted the engineer whos number the company had passed on and he didnt know anything about it !!! Luckily he was able to go over in the afternoon to inspect it .

I got a call in the evening and the engineer was very nice and next day got report which apart from a few cosmetic touches was all clear so was happy to hand over £6.5k for the car . First day it felt a little strange when changing gear then heard a strange noise from engine so took it to garage..........needed a new clutch and water pump !!!! I contacted the company saying i have had to put it in for repairs straight away as i need a car due to medical reasons but they said they would have to send out another inspector to view it.I said i could provide written evidence when they do the repair but the company just insisted i had to have it reinspected etc . Surely the fact the car was having that work done when the report did not have it listed shows somethings very wrong unless they felt i was replacing them for the hell of it !!! So now because i put my trust in them ended up with a bill for nearly £500 plus still having to pay their £155 which i would have been better off NOT using them for an inspection . Will NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone again.

At 1st I got frustrated as didnt get call to confirm inspection, however this was done then at short notice for the time I requested.
The engineer called straight away with feedback and a very detailed report was obtained.
Overall a very good service at exceptional value when compared with other inspection services. Will certainly use again if buying a new car

I originally booked in for a car inspection on Tuesday at Quicks Stockport where I was purchasing the car. The car depot had very bad communication and did not confirm with the engineer. However the engineer did not notify me of this and I wasted half a day waiting for a phone call that never happened. This was shared blame between the engineer and Quicks.

I raised my problem with mycarinspection complaints, and they apologised, instantly refunded me the payment and went above and beyond with a free inspection for my troubles. The engineer sent me photos and discussed the problem with me thoroughly and I am now awaiting his report.

Will definitely use again and strongly recommend.

The inspection My car inspections carried out was very helpful and informative and has saved me a great deal of potential expense. It is the best £155 I have spent in a long time and I would have no hesitation in either using their service again or recommending them to others.

I would definitely recommend to anyone buying a car and thinking of booking a pre purchase car inspection to use My car inspections.
