Niels was great to work with and kept me updated along the way. I was visiting Denmark and was able to visit one of the family parishes while I was there, which was an experience I will never forget.

I had been trying fruitlessly to locate any information on The Coast Hospital on Ræfnæs located on the Westcoast of Zealand. Within hours I received 4 informative links from My Danish Roots. Excellent communication and service! Highly recommend if you're trying to find someone / an institutions, etc.

My Danish Roots did a wonderful job finding my Danish ancestors! Christian was very helpful, answered all my questions and provided the requested information ( and more) in a timely manner! Neils was able to help us understand how our last name was derived from the geographical area name of Vendsyssel. For 60 years this has been a puzzle after my piano teacher (a Danish emigre named Hanson) told me that my last name was not a family name, but a geographical name in northern Denmark. There are still some loose ends to this question as the 1638 tax records in Oster Hassing list his name as Mads Thomasen Wendelboe. It is still uncertain how he took the family name of Wendelboe as a derivative of Vendsyssel.

Working with Niels was a great experience from start to finish. He works very detail oriented and the results are always supported by solid sources. He went above and beyond to make sure our work is fruitful. During the process he always kept me updated with reports on his progress.

I will turn to him again anytime my path leads me to Danish genealogy!

Oh my gosh, what a great experience. Would rate a 6 star if I could. I originally started working with Niels a year ago but I didn't have enough background information for him to continue (to me, that spoke of his integrity). My sister recently found some additional information and I reconnected with Niels. The floodgates opened and thanks to him we have a pretty comprehensive picture of our Danish ancestry. He's very good at providing the supporting documentation of his findings which I really appreciated. Based on my experience I highly recommend My Danish Roots.

He was able to provide me with the information I was seeking. I had technical problems with payments over the internet, so they were willing to take payment the 'old fashion' way via mail. The experience working with Niels and Christian was excellent. They presented to the National Danish-American Genealogy Society and our members were impressed with the depth of their knowledge and the range of resources they are able to access. Our organization has many members who are serious amateur genealogists. It was clear that Niels and Christian have the skills and ability to overcome common roadblocks that our members find in their research. They have access to data bases available only within Denmark, they read old Danish script and are familiar with the creative spelling of words that is often found in old records. They also are sensitive to the best ways to contact possible relatives in Denmark within the social norms of the culture. They are professional and clear in their communication and it was easy to work with them.

This isn't an accurate representation of the service. The only reason it is getting a 1 star is because no matter what I did I couldn't get payment to go through to use their services. The fellow we were dealing with was fantastic. But when we wanted to pay for more than the 'basic' service and get started on some research the form of payment would not take any of our credit cards whatsoever. We are from Canada so if anyone can let me know another way to pay then please do.
