Being one of the first English buyers of the marvelous Travelscoot from the United States, purchasing first the mark 1, with no reverse gear, then the mark 2, that does have reverse selection, after many years of loyal service on my travels around the globe, it was in need of a service and safety check.
For years, the drawback was that the then owner of the company refused to franchise his company, preferring to control it where he lived.
Various reasons why, but thankfully now we have a a UK agent in Watford, Hertfordshire.
They serviced my ‘Steed’ as I call it and added the updates I needed to bring it more in line with the TravelScoot’s being sold today, albeit with a completely different folding mechanism and configuration.
The marks 1 & 2 fold into an ‘in-line’ bundle, to suit the designers wish to store in an aircraft locker and those being manufactured now fold into a flat triangle shape. The former, whilst not so easy to fold, is easier to stow in any car. The latter takes up more floor space and could be more difficult to transport in a small vehicle.
Should you require a mark 2, then contact Travelscoot in Watford, as they often have fully serviced/updated ones for sale.
In closing, I have no reservation about recommending the Travelscoot outlet in Watford, as they are very friendly and helpful and know what’s what about the unique Travelscoot mobility scooter.
By the way - many time I have heard young children and even teenagers say to a parent as I zoomed past “Mummy/Daddy, I want one of those!” as they are ‘super cool’

Excellent customer service both on sales and subsequent maintenance - on a few occasions we have needed fast repairs and the scooter has been couriered, repaired and returned within 48 hours.
Always excellent service would recommend this company to the highest degree
When I was looking around at buying my first buggy/scooter I contacted Travelscoot about the then, fairly new to the market, travelscoot. They actually lent me a brand new scooter to try out at my home. Unfortunately, my weight, at the time, was a bit too much and I had to reluctantly return
the scooter as unsuitable. This was all at their expense, and was somewhat over and above the normal call of duty. They certainly deserved a lot more than the small bit of custom I could provide.
I have had my Travelscoot for over years. I use it for travelling, by rail or air, and for visiting galleries and museums. Its weight of 15 kg means I can lift it into the boot of my car. It may not be for those more disabled than I am but if you limitation is the distance you can walk , then it is unbeatable.
