Smooth marketing but not the experience
The head of the brush is much bigger than anticipated and the bristles are so hard on my gums ! I’ve tried all the cleaning modes but none makes sense, they are all too intense, like using a jackhammer on my teeth. The battery does keep for a long time but there is no heads-up when it needs recharging soon so I ended up using a normal toothbrush one morning because this one needed to be charged and it takes hours… which turns out for the better as I remembered that a normal toothbrush hurt less so I got back to using it and stopped giving “one more go” to this one just because I spent money on it :( too bad because I loved the concept and all the marketing is amazing. Too bad the product isn’t :(

Indeed, the strange sensations, sometimes unpleasant at first, are completely normal. 100% of our customers get used to them. It generally takes 5 to 10 days of use to no longer feel them at all (sometimes a little longer for people with very sensitive gums) 🙏🏻
The brush is well equipped with soft nylon bristles. The gentlest mode is the red mode, which we recommend to all our customers who are starting with sonic brushing. It is also possible that you are pressing a little too hard on the surface of your teeth, which is not necessary with our brush, but it's a common and normal reflex when switching to sonic brushing 🙏
It's also important to ensure you're applying the right technique, which simply involves moving the brush from tooth to tooth and letting the brush do the work, as shown in this video (created by a dentist) 😉: https://youtu.be/t7y50WZp9Nc
If, even considering this information, these sensations do not improve, please let me know, and we can offer you to try our special sensitive gum brush head model, which we recommend for particularly sensitive individuals, to see if that helps you more.
I also want to remind you that our toothbrushes have been tested by the scientific commission of the UFSBD (the French Union for Oral and Dental Health) which is composed of 12 dental surgeons who are experts in their field, and validated from every perspective, both regarding the effectiveness of the toothbrush in removing dental plaque and their brushing gentleness. MyVariations is actually the only brand of electric toothbrushes recommended by UFSBD dentists.
Regarding charging, there is indeed a signal before the battery is empty! 😊 During the last 2 brushings before the battery is completely empty, the indicator will flash red at the end of the 2-minute timer, indicating that it's time to charge the toothbrush and preventing you from being caught off guard.

However, we are also quite surprised by this feedback following the use of our toothbrush. Typically, we receive feedback that is consistently positive regarding its effectiveness in removing dental plaque.
To achieve maximum effectiveness, it is important to ensure that you use the following brushing technique, which involves gliding the brush from one tooth to another without applying too much pressure during brushing and without making too rapid movements, which could reduce the effectiveness of the vibrations:

Similarly, the fact that the bristles are soft (unlike many other manual toothbrushes, and almost all oscillating-rotating electric ones) and the less aggressive technology for the gums can also give a sensation of lower effectiveness.
However, this is not the case. Soft bristles are just as effective at cleaning teeth; they allow for better penetration into interdental spaces (accessible with the brush, of course). Dentists and the UFSBD do not recommend the use of medium or hard bristled brushes, as they can damage the gums and may cause bleeding, which can lead to gum recession and tooth loosening.
Furthermore, over 1,000 dentists/dental assistants have tested our toothbrushes to date, with very high satisfaction!
They have also been tested by the scientific committee of the UFSBD (French Union for Oral Health), composed of 12 dentists who are experts in their field, and validated from all perspectives, both regarding their effectiveness in removing dental plaque and their gentle brushing. MyVariations is indeed the only brand of electric toothbrushes recommended by UFSBD dentists.
Finally, interdental spaces should ideally be cleaned using dental floss or interdental brushes in addition, if possible twice a day before brushing, to reach narrow spaces not accessible with the brush.
Taking into account this information, would you be willing to continue your trial for a few more days to see if your experience changes?

Nos brosses sont généralement plus silencieuses que beaucoup d'autres brosses à dents électriques 😊
Elles émettent un son qui ressemble parfois à une petite mélodie, et qui est dû aux mouvements de vibrations de poils de brosse.
