We are a fully automated platform & we never call customers to verify payments or request authorization codes over the phone.

At MyVehicle.ie, we aim to provide comprehensive and transparent vehicle history reports using the best data available from a wide network of trusted sources across the motor industry. However, we must clarify that we do not create or alter this data. Our role is to retrieve and present existing records as they are provided to us by third-party suppliers.

Mileage information is one of the most commonly requested data points, and we source this from official entries made at various stages in a vehicle's life cycle. Despite accessing hundreds of millions of records, there are instances where data may be missing, inconsistent, or not regularly updated.

While we regret that you feel the report lacked value, we must respectfully point out that a vehicle history check aims to highlight all available data, including any anomalies. The presence of limited data or gaps does not indicate an error in our service, but rather reflects the limitations of the source data itself. This approach is standard across the industry in Ireland, the UK, and internationally.

Nonetheless, we understand that this can be frustrating but again, we must reiterate that we do not make up mileage readings for a vehicle and the lack of a mileage record is certainly not a failing in any way on a report or the data provider. We can only provide what has been digitised for this particular vehicle. If it has not been digitised and disseminated to third parties and available on databases, we cannot possibly have it and most of our customers and trade clients are aware of this limitation of mileage readings and this is the same for all vehicle data providers all over the world.
We would also like to point out that this vehicle is 3 years old & had only 1 owner prior. So it has not yet built up a substantial digitised record. Therefore, your remarks may be somewhat unfair and misrepresent the limitations inherent in newly registered or recently imported vehicles, which naturally may not yet have a fully developed mileage history within our data sources.
With regard to service records, these are normally paper documents or stored digitally with a dealership and are not disclosed to third parties. It's important to recognize that the absence of service history in the report is not due to an oversight but rather reflects the standard scope of information provided by vehicle history check services in Ireland. The National Car Test (NCT) Service, nor the Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing (CVRT) centres do not share their data with any third party company due to what they deem to be “Data Protection” concerns!
MyVehicle.ie are continuously lobbying for this mileage data to be released to third party companies like ourselves in our to protect consumers against “clocking”, which is on the increase in Ireland.
We recommend consulting the vehicle's physical service book or contacting previous owners or service providers directly for detailed maintenance records.
We hope this clarifies the limitations inherent in vehicle history reports and assists you in making informed decisions.

The Department of Transport has restrictions on what information can and cannot be displayed to the general public. Therefore, we are restricted from displaying the full Chassis and Vehicle Licensing Certificate numbers to the general public. A report generally contains the first letter and last two digits in the alphanumerical VIN and this is for corroboration with the document and for verification. This partial number is for verification purposes which can enable you to connect the documents with the vehicle. This is to protect against car crime such as the cloning of vehicles. We hope this has answered your question.

You purchased a UK Car History full check. We do not create the record but can only compile reports based on the data that is made available for any given vehicle. In this case, a report can only be based on data available in another jurisdiction (GB). The information provided is certainly not 'very poor' as you contend and is comparable to any other history check supplier. We know this as our parent company provides the same data to the entire automotive industry, including, all insurers, motor assessors and major banks. We are sorry to hear that your personal perception of the report didn't match your expectation and we have no control over this. We can only provide you with what is available for this vehicle from official and authorised sources in Great Britain, and we cannot embellish the data as the vast majority of our customers and clients can appreciate.

May we again draw your attention to the information you received with your report which has all has a value and as such comes at a cost which you received with your report.

Based on the information you have provided for this vehicle and based on Revenues nearest matching you have received the report which includes the estimated VRT charges. As you may appreciate, we have no control over the report type our customers choose and you have received an automated VRT estimate. It is a third party estimate and ultimately only Customs, Revenue and the VRT office can determine the exact tax and duties payable. If you feel that you could have calculated this yourself, we are not sure why you would need to use the calculator. This is a very helpful service for thousands of our customers who realise that they are using an online, third party calculator.

As part of the purchase process, we ask that customers input the NOx value that is contained in the V5 document as well as version, CC and BHP etc..So if you have those figures kindly share and we will update it for you in the report, thanks.

The CO2 and NOx rates are taken from the V5 document and/or the Certificate of Conformity and even then, many V5 documents do not show the NOx value. If the NOx value is indicated on the V5 and you have not disclosed this during the purchase process, we do not have any control over this. Please be aware, that no third party or even Revenue themselves has access to these documents prior to its submission at an NCT centre when processing importation? All calculations are based on the matching to the nearest vehicle but almost impossible for exact matching on any vehicle and Revenues online calculator does not match every vehicle.

It is made very clear at the time of calculation that you will receive an estimation, and an estimation is just that; an estimation and this in no way implies any kind of confirmation or guarantee of the actual Revenue tax payable as seen in our terms:

"This VRT estimate is provided by MyVehicle.ie. Ultimately, it is the Revenue Commissioners who is the official source for any information on VRT. All calculations are estimates only and are based on information gathered at the time of request. The final amount can only be calculated by a VRT office."

We never claim to give you anything but an estimation based on the information that you provide to us and the system relies on the customer fulfilling all the drop down criteria for best-matching.


Please be aware that we are not the originators of this data, but we compile reports based on all the available information that has been recorded and digitised in relation to a given vehicle or its nearest matches.

We would also say, that nowhere on the website does it claim or promise to give you the NOx emissions on every vehicle. It is a VRT calculator 'Check' and as such we check for all available NOx information for a vehicle.

To improve the accuracy of your report, we need your assistance. If you have the specific NOx value, version, CC, or BHP details from your V5 document, please share them with us. We will happily update your report with a more refined estimate based on those figures.

No previous owner name and location - Unfortunately, due to data protection laws in Ireland, the previous or current owners details are Not disclosed to any third party.

In this case due to the change of ownership being very old 18/05/2005, we would recommend that you ask the seller to produce the vehicle's licensing certificate and also their own identification to prove that they are indeed the legal owner of the vehicle.

No Mileage reading - MyVehicle.ie does check every vehicle for mileage but it does not guarantee that every vehicle actually has a mileage record. This is also the case with all vehicle history check suppliers. As you can no doubt appreciate, it is impossible for every vehicle to have mileage readings and no supplier of vehicle history guarantees mileage on every single vehicle. Our reports are based on pre-existing digitised records from multiple trade sources and we do not create these records but make them available to the public.
MyVehicle.ie currently have a mileage database of over 10 million mileage readings on over 1.2 million unique Irish vehicle registration numbers and running into hundreds of millions of UK readings but in this instance, the registration number in question is one of those numbers which is not in our database.

Engine number - To ensure accuracy, could you please provide the necessary details or documents for us to cross-reference with our database and other trade sources ?

NCT & Road tax Information: We acknowledge the error in stating that the motorcycle did not have an NCT. Motorcycles are indeed exempt from the National Car Test (NCT) in Ireland. We are reviewing our data sources to ensure that vehicle type is accurately identified and that irrelevant checks are omitted for specific categories.

Estimated Mileage & Running Costs: We appreciate your feedback on the accuracy of our estimated running costs. These are generated based on general data and averages, and we recognise that they may not always reflect the specific circumstances of every vehicle. Thats why it is labeled Estimated running cost.

Imported from USA - It's very common for vehicles to be made in one country and then exported as brand-new vehicles to be sold in another.
A Vehicle is typically considered an "import" if it was first registered as a used vehicle in another country and then brought into Ireland later.

The key detail in your report is that the "Date of 1st Registration" and the "Date of 1st Registration in Ireland" are identical: 17/07/1986.

This means the Vehicle was sold as a brand-new vehicle in Ireland, straight from the factory. It was never registered or driven in the USA (or anywhere else) before being registered in Ireland for the very first time.

Thank you for your feedback, though we must firmly disagree with your characterization of our report as a "waste of time."

To clarify your main concern: you were seeking an Irish NCT history report similar to the UK's MOT system. While we completely understand the value of detailed MOT-style data, unfortunately, this is a limitation imposed by the NCT/CVRT authorities in Ireland themselves, not by us.

Unlike the UK's DVSA, Irish CVRT/NCT data is not made publicly available. This means no private company, including ours, has access to NCT test results, fail sheets, or detailed readings.

We have made ongoing efforts to lobby for this data to be released into the public domain but as it currently stands, these are private entities who choose not to disclose this information.

Despite this limitation, our reports still provide significant value:

We provide accurate NCT due and completion dates, which are legally accessible.

We cross-reference vehicle histories with multiple proprietary databases, offering insights on write-offs, imports, mileage discrepancies (where records exist), finance checks, and much more.

For UK imports, where MOT history exists, we include this data.

Stating that our service is a “waste of time” because it doesn’t offer something no one in Ireland legally can is actually unfair to the work we do in providing the most comprehensive vehicle history reports legally possible in Ireland.

If your expectations were specifically tied to MOT-style data, we are sorry this was not fulfilled but this is beyond our control as you may appreciate.

We’re always happy to clarify what data is available, and we encourage constructive feedback but it’s important to clarify when expectations do not align with what is currently possible under Irish data-sharing regulations.
