Absolutely disgusted with this vet practice. I had being going here for years until recently. February half term my cat was due a to outline checkup, why they didn't offer me a blood test for an elderly cat is beyond me. A couple of weeks later my cat had stopped eating after a day l rang to see a vet, appt finished at 4.30 not convenient for my working hoursl was told they close at 6pm NO VET ON FRIDAYS (l could of taken my cat that morning) ,l would have to wait until Monday to see a vet.I ended up going to Manxman trust vets, l was booked in at 6pm that day of booking an appt that morning. I went that night but had to return next day for a blood test, my cat sadly had kidney diseease stage 2 and very high hypothyroidism sadly l decided to put my 15 year old cat to sleep as she was in a lot of pain.
I wouldn't go to this vets as it is a making money none caring vets

Disgusting vets.

Disgusting vets.. My cat got hit by a car so we took him to these idiots who advised he had a ruptured diaphragm and needed surgery costing between £5,000 and £8,000 we obviously couldn't pay this and offered to pay 4,000 straight away and the rest on payday.. they refused to do the surgery but offered to refer us to animal trust.. we accepted this and were quoted 1,700 with animal trust.. until these people decided to tell animal trust out cat is unfit to travel and would probably die on the way.. Why waste 4 critical hours having us deal with animal trust only to tell them he's unfit to travel.. we ended up having to have our cat who could have been saved had we chose a vets who actually care about animals not profits.. and the staff are as bad as the company they work for.. not a care in the world after you've told them you can't pay their 5/8k fee

I was advised that my cat needed dental…

I was advised that my cat needed dental surgery on the 5th June 2025, i booked that surgery in for July before i left the vets that day.
In July the surgery was completed.
I was then informed by my insurance company that his notes say i was told about this in Sept 24 (i was not) and as a result of this he isn't covered. I disputed this with the vets for of a month and each time i got passed to different people and then told the vet in question does not work for them any more, (this is incorrect, she does) i have been told to email a lady called Maxine and had no answer i was told it had been passed to the VDS spoke to them and they had no record of this, i have now received an email today advising me that the notes are correct on his file and they will not be reimbursing me for the cost (£844.07).

In short do note use this vets as they do put fraudulent notes on their systems! the vet in question is a Dr. Jenny Smith - veterinary surgeon. Avoid at all costs!
They lie on your pets notes

3 year old Walter

I am writing to express my deep concern, disappointment, and distress following an emergency out-of-hours appointment at your practice on the evening of 24th August 2025, involving our beloved 3-year-old dog, Walter.
During the consultation, your vet informed us—after seeking three separate opinions—that Walter was suffering from a life-threatening twisted stomach. We were told, in no uncertain terms, that he would not survive the night without immediate critical care and surgery costing between £8,000 and £10,000. We were also informed that the surgery itself carried a high risk and may not be successful.
As we could not afford this staggering amount upfront, and being under the impression that our dog was in critical condition, we were left with the heartbreaking decision to agree to have Walter put to sleep. As you can imagine, we were completely devastated and in tears.
However, moments before this was carried out and before we nearly signed the consent form we were offered an alternative — a referral to another vet who could perform the surgery for £2,800, requiring immediate upfront payment. Despite the emotional and financial strain, we agreed to proceed in order to give Walter a chance at survival and rushed him there in absolute distress, fearing we might not be bringing him home.
Upon arrival, the attending vet carried out an ultrasound and other assessments, only to discover that Walter did not have a twisted stomach at all. In fact, he was simply bloated after helping himself to a bag of dog biscuits at home. No surgery was needed. No life-threatening condition was present. Just a misdiagnosis that could have easily cost Walter his life had we not opted for the second opinion.
This is utterly unacceptable. Not only were we given incorrect and extreme advice, but we were also nearly forced into euthanizing a healthy, young dog based on that misinformation. The emotional trauma we experienced — believing we were about to lose a cherished member of our family — is something I cannot overstate. The financial stress, the unnecessary fear, and the near loss of life due to what appears to be a lack of proper diagnostic diligence is deeply disturbing

Overcharging

Ridiculous pricing. Cat was hurt after a fall and we rang their out of hours in a panic. 385 quid for a consultation and some painkillers at the 24hr site on the A59. The vet was unfriendly and the prices weren't explained upfront.
Took the cat for further treatment at Bury and was told they charge 100 quid for an out of hours consult. Avoid!

If I hadn't been so trusting of the MyVets on Longsight Road, our dog would still be here. They recommended a drug that did much more harm than good. Do not use these greedy, money grabbing veterinarians, who seem to want to push "medicines" that should not even be available. Never use librella, it was banned after the original tests on humans, it should be banned on animals.

How Big are They!

My dog broke a toe - I was told that it would need an x-ray then a toe removal for £800. Went to a different vet and was told it would be fine left alone. One year on and all is fine.

They are part of Independent Vetcare that own multiple animal based businesses. They aren't a local vet, they are part of 1026 sites across the UK. With over £1Billion turnover.

Don't be fooled - find a local vet.

Today

Today, I called the vet to explain that our dog had been attacked a few weeks ago and that we had to take him to an emergency vet on a Saturday evening at around 7 o’clock. However, I was told that because he had been treated at the emergency vet, they would not look at him .
It’s incredibly disheartening to see how uncaring the world can be. Imagine if a person went to the hospital for urgent care and was then refused treatment by their GP simply because they sought emergency help first—it would be unthinkable. Yet, that’s exactly what’s happening with veterinary care. It makes you wonder where the compassion has gone in a profession that is supposed to prioritize the well-being of animals.

I’m utterly disgusted at the way that this vet neglected my 7 week old puppies when we rushed them up to this vets for them to tell us they just had a chill in there bellies, however they just declined and we took them to another vet for them to be very poorly and now as a result of there lack of care one of them sweet puppies have now passed away due to there neglect. The vet in green sportswear with short blonde hair who looked as though he did not want to be at work that day should be ashamed. A short quick 5 minute consult with barely a check made for their health. If at all possible avoid this vets as their levels of care fall far short of what I imagine the VCMS consider to be appropriate.

Unprofessional

Unprofessional. I moved my pets to a different surgery as there was no vet there for almost a year. I cancelled all plans and moved across to vetsforpets. Now I have had a letter threatening with debt collectors as I was in a 12 month contract with them BUT why should I have to pay when there was no vet to see or treat my pet! I had no choice but to leave as my dog needed an op on her tooth.

Very upsetting.

Not very impressed. Just brought an injured bird in that i found on the road and dont feel very good about the whole experience. Firstly i, and another customer stood at the desk for about 5 minutes before anyone decided to come to reception. When they did, the receptionist was uncaring and clearly not remotely interested in animals. She walked around the place with the injured and scared bird swinging in the bag we had given her, whist she saw to other customers - frankly rather unbelievable to see. Then they proceeded to see all the other clients before us and treated the poor bird like it was nothing. Well it meant something to us. After waiting nearly an hour the receptionist finally bothered to turn from the desk to tell us the bird had been put down due to a broken wing. Having worked for the RSPCA before, i had contacts within whom i called after the incident & they informed me that the bird should have been given an x-ray and then fixed if possible, and if it couldnt fly after, THEN euthanasia might be the kindest option. Im both furious and feel somewhat sick after the whole experience. I can honestly say if i had a pet this would be the last place i would take it. 100%. The only reason i didnt give it 1 star is because the treatment for stray birds is free. However i would have happily paid to have the wing fixed and to see the bird healthy, but sadly i wasnt even asked.

Overdosed A Poor Puppy

Took poor Louie in for his 2nd set of jabs at 11 weeks old. He was on their pet plan, so the Vet gave him the Kennel Cough vaccine, even though the jabs contain ingredients for kennel cough. 7 days later had to take poor Louie back again he was coughing a lot, told it was a reaction to the kennel cough vaccine, he was give anti-inflammatory medication (£5.00 online) £30.00 from the vets + £58 consultation fee. Had to take poor Louie back 10 days later, his cough was even worse, another £58.00 consultation fee and £30.00 for a course of antibiotics. Questioned them about the 2nd consultation fee as we already paid the 1st time for as the Director stated "expert advice" they reduced the 2nd consultation fee down to £56.00 as she said it would be treated as a follow up. Poor Louie is still ill, all thanks to the inefficiency of these Vets and their so called "expert advice", and forcing a kennel cough vaccine on him when he did not need one, Louie was not going outside for at least another 2 weeks, he just received his 2nd set of vaccines, and he was definitely not going into kennels. Louie is going to another vet to get hopefully the proper care he deserves.

NEVER buy pet "insurance" from this…

NEVER buy pet "insurance" from this place.

I purchased pet insurance for two cats I had.. Over the course of the year we visited the vet a number of times. We got the cats neutered which wasn't covered in this so called insurance and cost us over €1000 and and xray which we also paid for separately. Despite this, when we cancelled the insurance they charged us for other smaller treatments valued at circa €350 - which although were covered on the insurance once you cancel, you pay for. I now have a debt collector chasing me for this 4 weeks before Christmas

Should I have read the small print - yes

Did they tell me this when I purchases the policy - absolutely not.

This is absolutely a shoddy and underhand way to run business.

I COULDNT be more grateful for the most…

I COULDNT be more grateful for the most amazing reception girls and the amazing vets 🙏🙏🙏
My poor boy was so poorly and needed to see a vet ASAP i rang them
And told me to bring him down straight away 🙏got in there and the girls on reception were just so helpful 🙏
Then the vet arrived and looked after my precious boy giving him a through check over and decided he needed to stop in 😩I’ve just picked him up and even the discharge was just so amazing aswell as he fell asleep in reception on his water bowl 🥣
So the vet Beth came out sat on the floor and talked everything threw 🙏
She made me feel so reassured 🙏

Definitely would not recommend for any exotic animals like birds etc , they seem completely clueless and just seem be after your money rather then looking after your Pets health which regrettably I learnt through using them. Will no longer be using these and ensure I stick with a more trusted vet. I cannot bring my pet back but il ensure I never trust these guys again.
