Ms. DeLaOz is very helpful
I've been working with Ms. DeLaOz to begin my process and she's been very helpful. She is very informed and informative, clear and concise in communicating, and very down to earth. She makes the process seamless and not seem like just putting a bunch of forms together. Very helpful.

Well when I walked in I was overwhelmed by the number of people waiting, however there were different sections for different stages of processing, and it moved rather fast and smooth. I was interviewed by Ms. Ellen P,who was absolutely wonderful, Professional, thorough, patient, and expicit, she didn't mind being asked questions for clarity. I observed staff as I sat waiting, energy was very positive, they enjoyed what they were doing.
NACA program is great
Hi,
My counselor Basauni has been great helping me start my process and journey with NACA I’m super excited about this process and can’t wait to purchase my house with NACA. The feeling of knowing you’re so close is awesome and I can’t wait for my kids to know we finally own a house!!!
Great program for disciplined homebuyers
I’ve had a very positive experience with NACA so far. The process is detailed and requires organization, but that’s actually been one of the biggest benefits because it forces you to get financially prepared and disciplined before buying a home. The team has been supportive and informative, and I’ve appreciated how they walk you through each step instead of rushing the process.
What stands out most is their mission to make homeownership accessible without the typical barriers like large down payments or high closing costs. It’s clear they are focused on long-term success, not just quick approvals.
If you’re willing to stay consistent, follow the program, and be patient, this is a great opportunity to become a homeowner.
I am currently in the process of purchasing a home
I am currently in the process of purchasing a home through the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), and so far my experience has been very informative and structured. The program provides a clear path to homeownership, especially for individuals who may need guidance or additional support throughout the process.
My counselor has been helpful in explaining the requirements and ensuring that I stay on track with the necessary documentation. While the process can be detailed and requires patience, I appreciate how thorough NACA is in preparing me for long-term homeownership success.
Overall, I would recommend NACA to anyone who is serious about buying a home and willing to follow the program guidelines. It’s a great opportunity for those looking for an affordable and well-supported path to owning a home.
Our counselor Ellen Peterson
Our counselor Ellen Peterson was very patient and informative of each step we went over in the members portal, explaining what documents she needed and why, not getting upset when we had questions, but taking the time to explain so that we understood what our next steps to homeownership would look like. We had a couple of missteps that needed to be corrected on our end, but because Ellen explained everything so efficiently we were able to handle everything that we needed within the time frame allowed. Thank you for having the tools and resources to help, and explain our next steps with us in detail. It is very much appreciated.

NACA is worth it
NACA is worth it. I have known about NACA for a few years, and began the process with them in around 2022. Due to a finacial windfall, I chose the traditonal financing route. Now on the hunt for a new home, I came back. Our initial counseling with Darryl was what you expect from someone you have know for years. He was extremely knowledgeable(even gave some credit tips), personable, and very humble and understanding. Still in the process, but based on things so far, I'd recomend NACA to others.
My experience with Neighborhood…
My experience with Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) has been very positive. From the beginning of the process, it is clear that this organization is genuinely committed to helping people achieve the dream of homeownership.
The process is detailed and requires organization and financial discipline, but that is precisely what makes it valuable. The counselors take the time to explain each step, provide clear guidance, and offer practical tools to help participants improve their financial situation. It truly feels like their goal is not just to help you get approved for a home, but to prepare you to sustain homeownership in the long term.
In addition, the program’s transparency and favorable conditions, such as competitive interest rates and continuous support, create a strong sense of trust and peace of mind. Although the process may take time, it becomes clear that it is designed to protect buyers and ensure responsible financial decisions.
Overall, I believe NACA is an excellent option for individuals who are willing to commit to their financial future and want to purchase a home in a smart and sustainable way.
I recommend going through naca program…
I recommend going through naca program to get free credit and financial counseling. It can go pretty fast if you have all your documents in order. Anyone can use it if you have good or bad credit as well as alot or little money. Its a wonderful program put you have to put in the work if you want to get approved in a timely manner. Definitely worth the time and energy..
My Experience Going Through the NACA Program
This is the longest part of the journey working with NACA. My housing counselor was supportive but firm, and the program requires you to be accountable. You learn how to budget, track expenses, and build financial habits that make you “NACA-ready.”
If you’re expecting a quick approval, this is where reality sets in. It’s slow, sometimes frustrating, and requires consistent follow‑through. But I genuinely learned a lot about my own financial patterns.
Almost there
My Fiancé and i are currently going though the naca program. We are excited for what the program offers. We are currently gathering all of the paperwork needed to complete the first step. They have been very helpful along the way.
NACA is the alternative to predatory lenders
My wife and I recently applied for a NACA mortgage loan.
About a year ago we tried getting a mortgage through banks, Zillow, Lennar, and other lenders, and the experience was extremely discouraging. We were being offered interest rates around 7.5%, even though my credit score was about 750 and my wife’s was around 720, and the only debt we had was a car loan.
It was nearly impossible to get a monthly payment lower than $1,800 for a $220,000 house.
One of the most frustrating parts was realizing how little equity you actually build in the early years with a traditional mortgage. Out of that $1,800 monthly payment, a large portion goes to mortgage insurance and interest. I was shocked to see that less than $20 would go toward the principal in the first months. That means if you need to sell the house after a year, your equity could be very close to zero.
On top of that, closing costs for a $220,000 house were estimated to be around $10,000, with many additional fees.
With NACA, the numbers looked very different. For a $250,000 house, the estimated monthly payment would be around $1,600 for the full 30 years. However, since NACA does not have closing costs, that same $10,000 could instead be used to buy down the interest rate from about 5.25% to 4.5%, lowering the payment to around $1,400.
Then we discovered a grant available in our area for about $50,000 — something no other lender had ever mentioned to us. Applying that grant could potentially bring the interest rate down to around 1.25%, with an estimated monthly payment close to $1,100. At that price, it’s hard to even find an apartment.
The process with NACA is longer, and you do have to learn about financial concepts like predatory lending, debt ratios, and budgeting through their trainings. The online training took us about three hours to complete at our own pace, and it was actually very informative.
After completing the training, we had an appointment with Erika, our NACA counselor. Compared to the many lenders we spoke with before, she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Once we spoke with her, the longer process stopped bothering us. I would much rather take the time to buy a home responsibly than rush into something and regret it later.
During our first meeting, she reviewed our income and debt ratio and advised us to save the difference between our current rent and the projected mortgage payment for two more months (this may vary depending on each person’s financial situation). With NACA, the credit score is not the main factor. Instead, the key factor is demonstrating that you can consistently save the difference between your current rent and the future mortgage payment, which helps ensure you don’t fall into a financial trap or end up with an unaffordable house.
Our next step is a follow-up meeting with Erika, which was scheduled during the first appointment and set for two weeks later.
I plan to keep updating this review as we continue through the process.

Ready to become a homeowner
Ready to become a homeowner? Go through NACA. It’s a straightforward process and my counselor has been very helpful every step of the way.
First-time Buyers
My Naca counselor was very informative and knowledgeable about the program. I was informed of all the benefits of participating in the program and how it helps the development of our neighborhoods in a positive way. No credit score required. The process is highly effective.
My experience with NACA, before qualifications
Right now, my experience is good.
I have recently been going through the house-buyer system with NACA to see if my family and I will be able to go through it and find a house. I have had trouble getting a mortage and NACA has been my last hope. So far it's going good, my counselor is a really good and understanding person, and I can't wait to see where my journey takes me.

My journey with NACA has been a challenge since I've never been a homeowner. But my counselor, Dwayne Jordan, has helped me ever step. I'd recommend anyone who is seeking help in their home buying process to reach out to the NACA Organization.
