Seller tried to rip me off on 2…

Seller tried to rip me off on 2 earrings. Got refunded on both from Etsy. Very dishonest seller. She lies and calls people nasty names. Read her feedback before buying from her. Has had a bunch of negative feedback. The earrings I got were made poorly. Not sure they were even real. Sent them back and canceled the other order. Gold didn't look real. Seller tried to rip me off on another transaction. Had to get my bank to refund me. This seller is very high risk. Even on the internet it says to be cautious buying from her. Says read all her feedback before buying. She calls people nasty names and has a very bad business attitude. Has a lot of history for ripping people off. Stay away from this one.

Misleading Listing, Possibly Fake Gold, Refused Return Despite Clear Policy

I purchased a 3mm 14k gold ball chain that was advertised as solid, but the weight didn’t align with industry standards — it was significantly lighter than expected. I measured it myself, down to the bead spacing and clasp, and all signs point to it being hollow or semi-hollow despite claims. I purchased a gold chain from an Etsy shop called Nanabijou Jewelry that was advertised as 14k solid gold. But when it arrived, the chain felt extremely light, and based on the weight and dimensions, I suspect it’s either hollow, plated, or possibly not even gold at all. I’m currently having it professionally tested (XRF) to confirm.

But here’s the real issue:
Nanabijou lists “Returns & exchanges accepted within 7 days” on the front-facing product page. That was one of the main reasons I felt safe purchasing from them.
Yet when I asked for a return label the same day I received the chain, the seller flat-out refused. She then cited some fine print buried deep in the description saying “sale items are final” — despite no clear mention that the item I bought was a “sale” item.

This behavior is shady, deceptive, and violates the spirit of Etsy’s return policies. If you’re thinking about buying gold from Nanabijou, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

You deserve transparency and fair policies when spending hundreds on fine jewelry.
I’ll update this thread after I get the results of the gold test.

Stay safe out there. Do your research. Don’t get scammed.

More importantly, the listing clearly stated “returns and exchanges accepted within 7 days” — which was one of the main reasons I felt safe buying. When I tried to return it the day I received it, the seller refused, claiming it was a final sale — even though that policy was buried deep in the description, not where the return terms are prominently shown on Etsy.

I feel deceived, unsupported, and taken advantage of. If this is how NanaBijou treats honest customers trying to resolve an issue respectfully, I wouldn’t trust their listings or their word.

DO NOT BUY!

DO NOT BUY!! SCAM! VIOLATE OWN RETURN POLICY! I have never been more compelled to make a review of a terrible business. I purchased a pair of 14k gold earrings with an attached chain. They sent me earring that were screw back with an unattached chain. When I requested an exchange for the earrings I thought I had purchased, I was met with aggression. I have Arthritis and Lupus (with significant joint pain especially in my hands) and it is impossible for me to put these earrings in by myself because of limited mobility in my hands. With the earrings as they are (chain unattached) the earring has to be put in the ear, then the chain looped over the back of the post (behind your ear) and then the back screwed on. I’m not sure my hands could do that even if I could see! But the owner characterized my request to return or exchange these earrings as “unreasonable”. I fail to see how my request was in any way “unreasonable”. Needless to say, I have made a complaint to Etsy and the BBB. DON’T BUY FROM HERE! FRAUD!

Terrible experience

I have asked for a purchase to be cancelled and got an aggressive response stating I needed to pay 35% of the purchase. I made a claim and they messaged me and were very rude. Even called me names at one point.. I will be contacting etsy regarding these messages.

Jewelry is NOT worth it!

PLEASE do not be a complete fool like me and buy any products from this merchant. Her Etsy store has hundreds of 5.0 reviews but you will be RIPPED OFF. I spent $1,500+ on jewelry and when I went to go resell to any jeweler that would take the pieces, I couldn’t even get up to $200 back. I regret buying anything from here, I didn’t know better about jewelry and what to buy that will actually last long and be worth the value.

The jewelry is not worth the price, I promise you! The designs might be cute but the gold is paper thin and hollow. Do yourself a favor and spend that money on REAL, SOLID, HEAVY gold pieces. Not this cheap, cutesy crap. I learned an expensive lesson, so please learn from me!

Horrible business practices!

Bought an expensive 14k gold earring from NB. The item arrived flawed and defective with production marks and thinning of the gold in multiple places. When I reached out to the seller and gave them an opportunity to make it right, Natalie began aggressively attacking me and suggested that I had damaged it. No apologies, no offer to replace the item or correct the problem. This is a cheap jewelry maker who gaslights and attacks customers who report product issues. I found this was common among many other buyers when I dug for further reviews. Buyers beware.

Broken in 2 weeks. No option for exchange

I do not recommend Nana Bijou for your fine jewelry purchases. There are many reasons for this review so I’ll break it down for you.

We were unsatisfied with the quality of the earrings purchased due to both the diamond size and the durability of the earrings. My mom wrote a negative review on Etsy (where she purchased the earrings) and the review clearly offended the owner because two weeks later when the $500 huggie earring clasp broke they refused to exchange the earrings because they are “uncomfortable with the review.” I get it, nobody wants to read negative reviews about themselves, and maybe my mom should have reached out directly to message her dissatisfaction but at the end of the day, the fact that $500 earrings broke within two weeks without the option of an exchange is frankly unacceptable.

If you want to do business with someone who stands by their work, these guys aren’t it.
