Absolute sham of a franchise.
I called the Nathaniel booking line to book my 2nd MG5 service and questioned the price as it seemed extortionate for an EV service. Was told majority of the cost was due to the brake fluid change that was on the service. I requested this not to be completed as my brake fluid level and condition was absolutely fine (on max with 0% water content). I was told I MUST have this mandatory service item done so I dont void my warranty.
Upon collection of my vehicle from Nathaniel MG Cardiff, my Service was £7 less than I was expecting so I decided to thoroughly look at the invoice. There was no brake fluid booked to my job. When I questioned how a brake fluid change was done with no brake fluid I was told 'the tech used surplus in the workshop'. Alarm bells start ringing, working in the motortrade myself, I know full well that if a tech cant be bothered to replace something the part stays booked on the job so it looks like its been replaced and the fresh part/fluid goes in a box somewhere. I'm now thinking the tech hasn't done it and didn't even try to hide it.
After being assured by the service advisor and the workshop staff the brake fluid was replaced, I decided to check for myself in thr car park before I took the car.
My brake fluid cap hadnt been removed, and all 4 caliper bleed nippes were dry, dusty and most definitely had not been used.
Do not tell me I MUST have a brake fluid service in order to maintain my warranty then not even carry out the brake fluid change.
Upon requesting to speak to the service manager I was informed he was in Bridgend, no worries ill drive there as its actually closer to my house. Suddenly he's travelling and wont be available for the rest of the day.
I request the service manager call me to discuss whats happened and informed the service advisor ill have a refund for the brake fluid service as it was not done. A £50 refund was offered.
Upon calling the booking line to get a price for a brake fluid change to ensure the correct amount was being refunded to me, I was quoted £125 + VAT!
Having lost all faith in Nathaniel, I decided to check other service items that had been 'completed' according to the tick sheet. I found majority of the actions 'completed' had not been done. A few to name some were wheels removed and anti seize compound applied, tire pressure set, door check straps greased.
Upon mentioning via email to the service advisor the additional service items that has not been done, these werent acknowledged, corrective measure were not offered or compensation was not offered. Only a refund of £127 for the brake fluid service that wasnt completed. I waited 7 days for this refund and it didnt come through. I chased it via email and was informed that the payment hadnt been processed as accounts were changing their bank (sounds like another Nathaniel story to me and someone jusy forgot). I was told I would have it by 5pm on the next working day. Of course, this didnt happen. Upon chasing it again I finally recieved it the next day. This was in excess of the 14 days specified my consumer law, another failing on Nathaniels part. I requested the service manager call me as I'd now like to make a formal complaint. Was told he was on annual leave and would return to work on Monday 24th August. Yep, you guessed it, havent had a phone call so thought id leave a review for all to see.
This all stemmed from being told id void my warranty for not having a brake fluid change, then they dont actually even change the brake fluid.
In summary, avoid Nathaniel Cars, they are corrupt, coercive, liars. The service advisor was nice though and seemed like he actually wanted to help. Same cant be said for the manager, technician or standards they hold.

Horrendous service from garage services
Not only did we wait 6 weeks for our radio to be fixed and take annual leave from work
The radio was NOT fixed.
100% DO NOt recommend cardiff MG garage
Asking us to bring it back down is not the answer or service expected

Recently bought a car from Nathaniel Car Sales Cardiff, perfect service provided by Colin and his Manager, unable to fault anything, I will be using them again in the future.

Staff were courteous professional and couldn’t help any more. Explained everything and assisted with all of the paperwork and explaining all areas require required for the purchase of the vehicle.

From walking into showroom to collecting car was an absolute dream with no problems. Elliott was extremely helpful, efficient, precise and friendly. In fact this was the best ever treatment I have received in all of the 20 years of using motability. He is a credit to the company and shows his passion for MG with the knowledge he has.

I first attended the Cardiiff Penarth Road showroom in May of 2026.I was looking at different cars to replace my current Motability vehicle that was due for change in August. I was greeted by Sales Executive Elliot Cooze who discussed the various models of the MG range of cars that would suit. as a result of that visit i returned to the Cardiff showroom a week later and test drove the MG HS. The car was suitable and a decision was made to acquire the desired vehicle in red. I returned to the showroom on August the 10th to collect the vehicle. I was greeted by Sales Executive Shane Perry who explained that Elliot was on leave, Shane did all the necessary paper work. He explained all that was required and set up everything the way i needed it in the car. Shane made a telephone call to me the following Wednesday to confirm everything was running smoothly and that I was completely satisfied with the car. I was and I still am and very happy with the attention and service from all the staff who assisted at Nathanial Car Sales. THANK YOU.

Staff were very helpful. We weren't sure what we were looking for but the confidence and knowledge from the staff was very helpful

The staff was great answering ever question I had they kept me well informed about what was happening. Also once I had had the car the rang me up to check how it was going and if I needed any help with anything recommended the to any thanks once again for perfect service.

First class service, not pressurized or rushed to place order. Elliot Cooze was able to answer all our queries and was very friendly and approachable. So impressed that we brought our daughter down to the garage who also bought a car from Elliot. Good range of vehicles available.introduced to service dept.

The wait to have your faulty car seen is over a months wait. Absolutely ridiculous so although I like my car I now would not recommend MG Nathaniel cars Cardiff. Oh and your car needs to be in the garage all day just for a radio issue. Terrible service offered

The purchase of my wife’s car went smoothly as my PX was over 12 years old and wasn’t expecting a great deal for it, but when I came to trade my car in for a new 26 plate vehicle, the salesman offered me well below market value stating that my car had rear disc brake issues, upon disagreeing with him stating that the car had only been to Audi 2 weeks previous and was given a clean bill of health from one of their master technicians ( video proof of this also). Therefore I DIDN’T GO AHEAD WITH THE PURCHASE.
I took my business elsewhere!!!
