Everything went well until a warranty…
Everything went well until a warranty issue was needed for the Sungrow inverter. Despite dozens of emails, phonecalls and sound bytes as requested NOTHING.
It appears that the (false promise) of the inverter being able to cope with more than 5kw is false. 35% more and that was assured to us again recently. Despite questioning this pre installation and installing a 6.6Kw system we now have NO RESPONSE from NGSS, SUNGROW or their 3rd party person. ZERO.
Even at 1.5Kw the inverter overheats with a continual buzzing noise ad infinitum. The promises of great warranty are indeed that. Promises with no substance. Looking for SOLAR in Tassie? Look elsewhere besides NGSS. Consume Affairs is now on the horizon and I have already told them of this. We were promised that the BIG Kahuna would look into this matter 2 weeks ago. More sales rubbish. Unfortunately your response is incorrect as I am still awaiting the new Inverter which we had to pay for to be installed. Scheduling it on Queens Birthday isn't a clever idea. Yet another fail.

I paid an unnecessary premium
I paid $10k for a 5kw system being the high end price of the market. I went with it only due to all the promises made by the high pressure salesman (Harold) who visited me for 3 hours! - such as BEST in market product ie panels and inverters, tradesmen, warranty and follow-up support.
Having now done much research, the panels seem good quality and efficient but friends with other cheaper brands seem equally good/efficient & happy.
My main gripe was that 4 panels stopped working and it took 5 months of chasing NGSS to have them repaired. They say they have made changes/improvements to prevent this delay from reoccuring and I was a unique unfortunate one.
The salesman advised of the following which has all proven to be false:
* Discounts for advertising and sending a drone as a 'display house'.
* An app that would show usage as well as supply (it only shows supply).
* The app would also instantly notify 'back to base' of any faults because it ‘reads’ the panels.
* Instant response to any faults or warranty work. *
* You can orientate the panels at your request as you know your house best (I wanted some to face west to run my air-con) but when install day came I got - sorry mate, they’ve only sent me two inverters so they’ll all face north.
* $150 for each succesful referral - obviously untested to date.
* You must complete a Trustpilot review to retain all 'these discounts'.
Another thing for customers to consider is my electricity provider verbally advised of a feed in tariff of 21c but I later discovered this is only available if you crank up your associated supply cost too. I instead get a 10.2c feed-in which is still ok but will take about 13 years to break even. The tariff in Sydney was dropped in February to around 12c for anyone interested. Don't get solar unless you can make good use of it during the day (about the only proper advice we did recieve from the salesman).
I was too busy to do my own research and I would always caution against that. I suggest you start here SolarQuotes.
Conclusion: Everything is working again as it should and my previously small power bills are currently down to about $40, I just didn't need to pay $10k for that.
This is the team we were waiting for!
From introduction of concept to final handover, the process was seamless. Colin absolutely made this sale happen, his knowledge of the product and industry was superior, as we had so many other reps try, Colin was open and transparent, with nothing to much to ask. Communication from the team was brilliant and on time delivery of panel installation was as promised. Install team were excellent; punctual, clean, efficient, friendly and showed us how to use the app. Highly recommend!!

The staff are great and helpful to the ECU in getting it on the way and able to see the data’s maybe they should have someone to really go with the product as sometimes there are people who are not up to date with technology to be able to practically shown the way to do it.

Big positive change in power bills
Following a meeting with national grid rep who explained the type of intallation which may be suitable for our needs we decided to proceed with the quote.
Our system is 14 panels with micro invertors 4.9kw install managed by Integra Energy.
Overall very happy with the job, a couple of return visits to correct small issues post inspection but remedied quickly.
System up and running feb 2021 and latest power bill 58% saving on similar period for last year. Included in the savings was a change from fixed speed pool pump to variable speed pump which was also assisted in overall savings.
The solar monitoring app works really well providing live system performance and stats via wifi.

Solar panels installed late April 2021
Hello NGSS,
I had 10 solar panels installed in late April 2021. After the single, intense sales interview I was for a while fearful that I had made a bad decision - I hate been pressured by salespeople to buy/sign 'on the spot'. I nearly cancelled the contract in the cooling off period when friends told me that their solar installation cost $3000 less than my quote. Trying to compare solar products is nearly impossible for the average person. It is easy to be 'blinded' by the technical details, at some point you have to trust that you are not being ripped off. Not being able to compare the quality of others product with this one, I decided to continue with the process. The installers from plus.ES were fabulous - the guys worked cleanly and efficiently. One panel does not sit completely flush, but I was advised that this was due to roof tiling. As it was only out by a few centimetres and does not affect the functioning of the panel, I accepted the job. Shortly after I received an out of schedule invoice from my electricity provider - it followed the installation of the smart meter needed for solar panels. My first 'proper' bill was amazingly low, so I'm waiting to see the next one before I comment on any savings. On the down side ... I was told by the salesperson that my house was a 'show home' which gave me discount on price, and that a photographer/drone would take images of the installation. I've not been contacted. Did I really get a additional discount, or was it just that the usual government rebates was applied ... I wonder. I further agreed to upload copies of my next three bills so that the savings could be monitored but I can't seem to find out how/where to do this so have not followed through. At this stage I can't see any buy back income on my bill for upload of power sent from my solar to the grid, which I need to investigate. On the whole, I'm happy with the product. Hopefully my solar installation is a happy ending story ... time will tell.
Cheers, Carol

The system has never been connected to the Wi-Fi monitoring, No wayy of monitoring power KW. The actual installation where the brackets have been cut off are considered poor workmanship.
Great from start to finish
Everyone from the NGSS team was extremely helpful. We've had our system for 11 months now and we are now paying around 70% less than before we had solar installed. Very happy with the team at NGSS!

We are very happy with the install and the people who provided the service:)
National Grid Support Service Provided good advice by the person sent to consult with us. The installers arrived quickly soon after as arranged. They were a cheerful lot who dealt with our (apparently) bowed roof effectively. The final system has been working for about 9 months now and has reduced our power consumption to about 15% of what it was (we don’t have battery).
We are very happy with the install and the people who provided the service:)

We felt badgered by the sales people on…
We felt badgered by the sales people on the phone but the salesman who called was very good, reassured us and we ordered an installation and paid a deposit. The date for the installation came and went (18th June) with no sign or word from them. My husband contacted the salesman and a date for a ‘survey’ ?? not an installation , came and went. (2nd July) Both missed dates I had rearranged work to accommodate the company. All our calls to them since have gone to voicemail. I was beginning to wonder if this a scam. Update: my husband was able to able to contact the company who said that the work would cost $2,000 more than they had quoted, that we agreed to, and had paid a deposit for. They offered a $500 dollar discount for messing us about but this still meant they wouldn’t complete the work agreed without an additional $1500 payment from us over and above what we had agreed. We declined and received a refund of our deposit. What a waste of time and effort.

Purchase of the reliable and cost saving system
From the first time the Salespeople contacted me I felt confident that I was about to purchase a reliable system from NGSS. What was discussed with me for the proposal has occurred and the follow up from them has been excellent.
The system itself is delivering great outcomes and savings for us - unbelievable in fact.

Excellent product and customer service
My system was installed in October 2020. Installation, customer service and communication has been excellent each step of the way. I have also appreciated the after sales calls to check in that I am happy with my system and address any concerns I may have. I started saving on my bills straight away. I like being able to log into the app from my phone to see how my system is performing through the day and believe my system is more visually appealing than others in my area. The feed in tarrif for my provider and area isn’t great and I was disappointed to discover my provider started charging much more for the electricity I am using from the grid, however this is an issue with the service provider not the solar provider..
I am very pleased to recommend National Grid Support Services to anyone in the market for Solar :)

NGSS were a pleasure to work with
NGSS were a pleasure to work with. Their presales and customer service were topnotch. Full details provided of panels and inverter. Local to Melbourne. Go with NGSS to support local business and tradespeople. Installers were super quick, clean, polite and courteous. My brother, an electrician, checked the install and confirmed it was a good compliant install.
