Avoid the Exeter branch.
What should have been a straightforward windscreen replacement turned into a 10-month ordeal. The first windscreen was poorly fitted and leaked due to inadequate bonding that was clearly not watertight, causing damage to the vehicle’s interior.
When a second windscreen was installed, the situation worsened. Excessive bonding was used, the windscreen was not level, and significant paintwork damage was caused to the vehicle — including both front wings, both front doors, the roof, and roof trims. A section of the roof lining was even cut out, and there appeared to be attempts to conceal damage to the roofs paintwork.
I obtained three independent reports confirming that the second windscreen was defective. It was distorted and blurred at the bottom, incorrectly fitted, and all associated damage was documented.
Despite this, National Windscreens refused to accept responsibility, replace the windscreen, repair the damage, apologise, or offer any compensation. Communication eventually stopped altogether.
I escalated the issue through my insurance company, who took over the complaint. Despite National Windscreens multiple attempts to stop the correctional repair works, the insurance company persevered and arranged a third windscreen replacement and ensured all damage was repaired by professionals.
In total, this situation resulted in nearly £8,000 worth of defects and damage, along with almost a year of stress and inconvenience.
I have extensive photo and video evidence, as well as copies of the independent reports, but unfortunately these cannot be uploaded here.
Proceed with extreme caution and good luck with the Exeter branch manager!

Recently bought a new car and noticed a crack in the windscreen after leaving the dealership. Spoke to Dan Wilson, the assistant manager, to see if it was something that could be repaired. Dan informed me it wasn’t something that could be repaired and I would need a replacement screen. Ask Dan for a quote to send to the dealership and he happily provided me with the quote. Unfortunately the dealership refused to pay for the replacement but Dan was very good to see if my insurance company would cover it and turns out not only would they I could go through national windscreens. Result!! Turned up to the appointment and Dan the fitter talked me through everything he was going to do and took pictures of the vehicle. Told me the car would be ready in about four hours. 2 hours later new screen fitted and a message from Dan saying come get your car when you ready.
However this is where my experience took a turn. Before booking the car in I was contacted by what sounded like a call centre handler trying to book the job in. When I told her it was just a quote she cancelled the booking and cancelled the glass and poor Dan had to go through the whole process again to sort me out. On arrival back to the national windscreen I was meet with a very grumpy Richard who told me they had fitted the glass but could calibrate the screen. Richard didn’t seem to know where the wavier form and there was no explanation of why they screen couldn’t be calibrated. There also seemed to be an issue with trying to reach the manager Lauren about booking the car in for a calibration. However in Richard defence after fitter was also trying to get hold of the manager with no success about another problem. Richard advised me that someone would be in touch about booking the vehicle in for the calibration the next day. The next day I heard nothing until I rang national and was informed that they would get someone from the branch to call me. Richard eventually called to say he has the quote for the calibration and will get KGM to contact me to book it. To be fair KGM contacted that same day and got me booked in a week later.
Overall this review would have got a 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t the poor handling I received at the desk from Richard and also the national sales team trying to book me in and then cancelling my booking because I had only asked for a quote.
I cannot fault Dan Wilson he sorted out the booking, got the glass in and it was such a shame I didn’t get chance to thank him in person on the day or after the calibration was done. Even when I complained about the calibration not being done the same day he explained everything that happened, firstly that there software couldn’t do it and also that KGM network was down which is why they couldn’t get the software they needed. I really can fault him and if I could give individual rates I would give Dan five plus.
The other Dan fitting the screen was bright he was friendly, informative and helpful. And he did make me laugh when he couldn’t move the car but he got there in the end :) again I would rate him a 5.
Richard and Lauren I’m sorry you let me down and the staff down so I can only give you both a 3 out 5.
Well done National Windscreens Exeter a happy customer by the end of the appointment.

Liam was ready and waiting at the due time and completed the job in 90 minutes. I was able to speak to staff about my queries beforehand. The only issue was a delay in the delivery of the new screen.
