The course is a great introduction to recreational sailing for a novice, where the concepts and terms are unfamiliar. The animations and explanations are helpful. There is a little clunkiness to the software and system which I think could be improved by adding more worked examples and self tests, possibly as an addendum to the course. At some points one arrives at a quiz underprepared.
It is a good start however.

The course material is well laid out in online modules. These online modules work well with the physical training charts and nav tools delivered to your address. A good summary is provided after the exam helps you review any errors.

Really quick from signing up to completing the course was about a week.
Availability, communication and guidance was great throughout the process .

The online materials were good, the testing and process effective and efficient.

Detailed course with excellent support

The course was very comprehensive and really helped me learn and develop the skills needed for navigating. I am grateful I took the time to take this course because it will be very helpful in the future.

The ability to work from home and fit around my busy schedule of full time work and family made this course an excellent choice. I still received timely and supportive feedback when I had questions which is hard to find in an online course provider, thank you

For the complexity and scope of the content NAVatHOME was fairly easy to navigate with absorbing the learning. Once your receive your physical pack with the training equipment, charts and tools the course is gilding you through each modules. The team at the support center were very helpful and comprehensive in their feedback. Great course, definitely my go to for future learning.

The course itself is really comprehensive, instructive and challenging, I learnt a lot. The follow up service is also really great and supportive and provides excellent instruction to help you work out the answers to difficult questions yourself without spoon-feeding you.

Excellent, practical examples and tips

Online content overall was good quality. Additional feedback was provided by course instructor where necessary to properly understand concepts. Overall value added experience.

The layout and design of the course flows very well. There will always be repetition but it was well designed

I believe the course was well laid out and the information given was a reflection of the assessments.
The time frame to complete the course was generous, thankfully so as I needed it. Some of the software was a bit clunky in particular the croc plots didn't work that well.

Great online course with good "real human" support whenever I needed help.

Liked that you could progress at your own pace.

Did not like:
1. Often insufficient information provided in training materials to answer questions;
2. It would be far more effective to do the course in a real class room setting.

I learnt a lot through this day skipper course. I like the self paced delivery model. All maps doco and dividers/plotters are provided. Help is there if you need it. In my case I found the course difficult. There is a lot to learn! But the notes etc are great.

Supplied plenty of useful information and guidance to successfully complete my course.
