No heating for over a month
No heating for over a month. Night storage heaters too expensive, no other heating. No lights for 3 weeks, asked if I had a torch. No help at all.
The electrician came out,said there is a loose wire, but not to worry! NCHA have made another appointment in March. Meanwhile, I'm freezing and have no help.
Elderly and disabled. Disgraceful.
Avoid engaging with this company
Avoid engaging with this company, as it's not worth your time, effort, or peace of mind. I've reached my limit with the lack of progress on repairs. I submitted my snag list on April 24, and now, 27 weeks later on November 24, only 25% of the list has been addressed, which is frankly inadequate. There's no update on when the remaining work will be completed. Despite promises to follow up with contractors and provide updates, there's no communication. As a property owner, it feels like they don't care about your concerns at all.
Housing community Nottingham is a…
Housing community Nottingham is a disgrace as they protect their tenants who harass neighbours via anti social behaviour.
This organisation is stealing tax payers money as it is set up as a charity, it is suppose to work for the community but does NOT.
Their complaint procedure is a waste of time and bias and not fit for purpose.
Basically they are a bunch of criminals pretending to be public/civil servants.
This organisation is waste of time and should be shut down due to being bias and not fit for purpose.
This organisation is interlinked with Nottingham council who raped and molested over 300 children in care in 30 years. This is the reason tax payers money should be taken away from these pedophiles.
This is by far the worst company I have…
This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I would never recommend them to anyone. Their service is extremely poor. You can never get any proper repair from them. I waited 15 days for an appointment, but they cancelled it at 3pm while I was still waiting. When I called, they promised to come the next day. The worker who came had no idea what to do – he just kept saying “Really, really”. Then he claimed he had fixed the toilet tank leak, but nothing was actually repaired.
I had to call them again, and they told me I must wait another two weeks. Their customer service is a complete waste of time. On top of that, I still have a ceiling leak caused by rain since 2019, and it has never been fixed.
56 days with no water in the bathroom no access to personal care
Wow to all the reviews about the disgusting state of repairs or lack their of and the absolute incompetence of this housing association! Still waiting for my repair since the last review I have a medical condition and have been left with no access to complete personal care for 56 days. I have been charged £240 for a plumber to come to my property and take a photo claiming he was there to “make it safe”. They are claiming that was remedial repair. My complaint is now gone to a stage 2 as they still expect me to pay for a photo???!! So now I have to wait till August!!! Their customer service agents attitude is disgusting you can’t talk to a manger. I am likely going to the papers with this absolutely disgusting as an organisation.
NCHA Bridge Street, Shepshed, and its drug abuse problem
I was a tenant at NCHA Bridge Street in Shepshed for around 21 months. I came with the hope that I could receive help with my Autism and EUPD but left the project feeling letdown and traumatised by my experience there.
There was no structure; which is important for providing care for autistic people. The high turnover of staff made it hard to have a consistent support routine. The lack of understanding of my needs and autism in general made things very difficult. The few experienced staff who were brilliant were often overshadowed by those working their first job in the care sector.
I was not made aware at any time during the “interview” process that the project primarily housed people with alcohol and substance misuse issues. I learned that many of the tenants came from a homeless shelter in Loughborough and brought their behaviours over and had no desire to change.
There were countless ASB issues such as the lounge windows being smashed and aggressive behaviours(banging at office doors etc). This sometimes led to the Loughborough police attending the project.
Certain tenants at the project would cause problems in the local Shepshed community by stealing from shops like Asda, Tesco Express, Co Op(now B & M). I was witness to some pretending to be homeless and begging outside shops.
The most disturbing thing to me was those who would act and behave inappropriately towards the young female staff(such as being touching without consent).
I wish I had all the information available to me to make an informed decision about coming here prior. Had I known that the project was more like a homeless shelter for drug addicts I never would have came. I was offered William Lyon Court in Loughborough but chose NCHA Bridge Street, Shepshed, thinking I would have a quieter time. That was a huge mistake.
I’m happy that the NCHA City Heights placement in Loughborough that was offered to me was taken away. I never understood why and put it down to personal prejudice against me. But as several ex NCHA Bridge Street staff work there now it wouldn’t have been suited for me. From a personal healing standpoint and to move forward I would have wanted to put the mistreatment I received there behind me and going there wouldn’t have been the answer.
I’m grateful to social services for finding me a Supported Living placement more suitable for autistic people with a manager that cares and engages with their tenants. This is something I didn’t have at any stage at NCHA Bridge Street in Shepshed and certainly wouldn’t have had at NCHA City Heights in Loughborough.
Former tenant
This Housing Association is managed poorly, we had visits to our property without prior notice and repairs that were never done. The staff are not knowledgeable at all and need more training on how to perform in their jobs. I can only imagine how much money this association loses due to inefficient levels of service.
Emancipation from NCHA related ugliness moral compasses
This company can only improve by sacking most of their managers at all levels and make them reapply for their positions through a totally independent employment agency so they are correctly assessed and reminded of their remits - there is an overwhelming tendency at NCHA City Heights Loughborough and NCHA in general for managers to assist each other to batten down the hatches to avoid themselves beings exposed as totally morally unfit for purpose and bankrupt - I am desperate to move away from this perpetual nightmare of NCHA City Heights Loughborough - repairs are dreadful and it took them 3 & 1/2 years to repair my collapsed shower room floor - myself and a support worker here had to make a temporary fix so that I could still use my shower room and it was officially inspected twice by an NCHA inspector and photographed but still nothing was done for over a year or more - unsafe and neglect from NCHA - then they booked appointments in 5 hour wait in periods and never bothered turning up without any notifications or plausible explanations and many other repairs have been total bodge jobs even with 6 appointments over a 6 month period for my window latching mechanical assemblies to be replaced - they turned up 4 times and repeated the same bodge jobs as before bearing no reference to the actual correct repair job but just changing window handles that are still not connected to the slide latch bolt mechanisms because these mechanisms were the original problem and never got replaced and the final 2 appointments were no shows again without any notifications of not turning up and another 8 hours of my life wasted waiting in - the list is endless trust me but if you make a complaint it goes no further than and gets you targeted for harassment and nefarious treatment whilst supposedly living in a sheltered housing project for vulnerable adults whom they make lives a misery in a bid to silence you - these people should be exposed showing their true colours and they'd never get employed in a care industry position of any level ever again - the current assistant manager at NCHA City Heights Loughborough s a m a n t a is worse than ever vindictive - dishonest - supports bad people and ignores the good and a truly real nasty piece of work all round - and will stop at nothing to discredit a good persons name in order to cover up her multitude of terrible actions just relating to myself let alone others - this is now in writing and the person named so she could attempt to sue myself for libel but it's only libel if it's untrue and I'm more than willing to take an independent lie detector test but I assure you she would not - I don't care anymore - I just want to get away from this nightmare nest of vipers and never look back unless I need a recap in morally bankrupt behaviours and far far worse.believe me steer clear of NCHA City Heights Loughborough and NCHA in general if you value your sanity!
Have a shared ownership home with NCHA…
Have a shared ownership home with NCHA for over 2 years. Getting any repairs done is outrageous and such a long tedious process of constant chasing and them fobbing you off. Communal areas left in disgusting states as the cleaners and maintenance crew are rubbish and give minimal effort. Every year rent and maintenance costs go up quite considerably yet the quality of maintenance goes down. They promise it will get better but its only got worse
Awful.
Awful.
Have been a tenant for 6 years now and not one of my experiences with the housing association has been good or effective. Happy to constantly inflate services charges (up but almost £60 a month this time! As a single parent it has become extremely difficult to cover bills at this point) but services provided are becoming increasingly non existent. Cleaning services and grounds maintenance appalling. Repairs/issues with communal areas never resolved. Takes months of going around in circles trying to get anything done, and they always end up coming back saying it isn’t their responsibility- apparently nothing is.
There was a rat infestation of the whole building for months (coming into people flats, chewing electrical wires etc) and they couldn’t have cared less. Trying to state that it was an issue for the tenants to sort even though they were entering from the outside sewage system and communal grounds. Absolute nonsense.
If I had the option to move I would, absolutely hate living here and that is solely because of the NCHA
10yr Tennant
I've been a tenant for over 10yrs & from my experiences, I have experienced:
* Double standard housing management.
* Repairs Dept - A joke.
* Inappropriate tradesmen.
* Cowboy/cheap contractors.
* Knowingly breaches H+S
Make Your Own Mind Up
Wouldn't recommend them to my worst…
Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy no communication between departments staff lie to cover there mistakes along with higher up staff covering for there mistakes made out to be a liar along with other neighbours who were witnesses to incidents while receiving 5 yrs of abuse cant keep track of the housing coordinators as constantly changed there policy's protect the guilty and make the innocent out to be the problem repairs are non existent raise rent and charge you for service charge ontop yet nothing is ever done gardener just sits in van write out negative references about tenants definitely avoid like the plague
Very slow on repairs and very terrible…
Very slow on repairs and very terrible repairs. If you live is a building managed by NCHA just do your own repairs
Nottingham Community Housing…
Don't bother getting involved with this useless.company. Its not worth your energy, hassle, mental state. I'm at my wits ends with getting absolutely no where on repairs. I submitted my snag list in April 24 - it's now Nov 24 some 27 weeks later and they have still only completed 25% of my list which is frankly pretty poor. With no further view as to when anything else will be done. No-ones comes back to you even though they say they're going to chase up contractors and come back to you with dates. If your in ownership, they give absolutely zero f#@ks about you.
NCHA is a joke
“I have been living in one of NCHA’s properties for many years, and I have never been more frustrated. Dealing with this housing association is a nightmare. First of all, you can’t speak with anyone beyond customer service – and trust me, those people are far from competent. They are useless when it comes to addressing real issues, and it’s almost impossible to get any meaningful help from them.
Maintenance? Forget it. You can’t get in contact with anyone when it comes to repairs. It’s like they’ve vanished into thin air when you actually need something done. And don’t even get me started on how long it takes them to fix anything – if they even bother to show up.
I see they are moving their office to Clifton, and honestly, I’m glad. At least now we know where our money is going. Hopefully, this move will help them get their act together and start doing their jobs faster, because the current situation is a joke. I’m done dealing with the constant incompetence of NCHA.
Avoid!
You'd think renting from a community housing association would be free of the more predatory practices employed by private landlords, but unfortunately this has not been the case with NCHA. After putting my rent up by a whopping 70 quid per month after less than a year of living there, the NCHA have added insult to injury by failing to sort any problem or repair (of which there have been numerous) within a reasonable time frame. Having gone for over a week without a working toilet, I'm now without a working shower for at least 3 weeks - and the NCHA have flatly refused to give me any reduction in rent despite not providing basic amenities you would expect from renting a flat. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Dont buy a shared ownership property, mercer builders will activly try to wiggle out of snags and finish is bad
I have bought a shared ownership property. They used mercers builders.There were over 200 snags, mercers refusing to fix despite the snagger making sure everything flagged was within the warranty. Latest snag is unsafe stairs- my neighbour had same issue, they came to fix his but because I had laid carpet they are now blaming the carpet fitter saying he must have installed carpet faulty. I explained they creaked before the carpet went down but they just say they are not liable. There were no stickers telling carpet fitter how to fit the grippers , no info provided to me to pass on, and he cant remember if he nailed iot or screwed it in. Industry standard is nailing but he said he does often screw in new builds as the stairs are usually cheap mdf rubbish and poorly glued.
so I am having to fork out 80 quid to get my brand new carpet ripped up so he can check!, if installed with nails it will cost me approx 1.5k to fix as the wall under stars will need to be opened up.
I have massive holes around loo pipes where floor hole has been cut too big so they just shoved a load of expander foam into it instead of actually doing the job right…..the list goes on.
Most of the ncha customer repair people have been lovely, but one did ask me to show a picture of the pipe that water hammered after my loo flushing- I explained I cant take pictures of pipes behind walls……
Is anybody there?!
Tried to call and email countless times about a shared ownership property. Nobody replies to emails and nobody answers the phone.
Waste of time.
Rotten from the top
Had massive fungal blooms caused by the extractor fans not being put in correctly, and an obvious and systemic 'bodge it for cheap' attitude it's been 4 months without a shower, my neighbor has had the same problem. I've got numerous health issues, not least the one caused by the very house itself... Funny thing is the surveyor from ncha came round and was top notch, the workmen- exactly the same(if not a little overwhelmed by an excessive and unrealistic work schedule/top down enforced ethic). The problem comes from management (this is echoed in some employee reviews) and the culture of profit over care which is obviously rife at the company.
At what point do things change?? Is this just a page for lonely outpouring of frustration, or is someone with some actual influence going to help. The money I've lost in earnings could of paid for the repairs... Not that an organisation who claims to look after people should be making those people fix problems the're too cheap to fix correctly.
Do Not Go Into Shared Ownership With NCHA
Do not go into shared ownership with NCHA. I puchased 50% of a property from NCHA 3 years ago. everything worked well until i wanted to sell my share of the property, they will do everything to make it impossible for you to sell your share. refuse to take up first refusal to buy back despite people crying out for affordable housing in this area. They put so many obsticles in the way that it make it near on imossible to sell, this has caused my much stress and put me into finacial difficulties while stuck paying for a house which i no longer reside in. They off no help or support and the communication and customer service is diabolical.
