Not received my results after 24 weeks

Not received my results after 24 weeks! ! !
They promised 12 weeks for the results but it's been 24 weeks since they've received my sample and I still have not see any results online! Paid $1073.94 for this nonsense.
Don't waste your money and time, they are not able to provide what you pay for.

Took money from my account claiming I had signed up for a yearly renewing subscription which I definitely didn't. Will be doing a charge back with bank as when I spoke to them they were completely useless. Refused to provide evidence that I signed up for a contract and support were extremely rude.

This is a scam

This is a scam. It’s the first time in my life that I have wasted over £800 with these guys. I emailed them for support to understand my reports as they are confusing and contradictory but a year later have not heard back from them.

Predatory practices. Sells data to Meta and Google, as well as not enabling alerts for auto renew. Looking to see if we can operate a class action. Seems like the reviews are quite consistent. They just take your money if you’re forgetful enough. With everything being a subscription now it’s easy to forget, especially as an annual fee. These people are ruthless.

Deceptive Practices and Untrustworthy Business

DNA Complete (formerly Nebula Genomics) is a company to avoid at all costs. I purchased their "upload your DNA" service specifically to access over 300 trait and risk reports, similar to what other companies offer. Initially, this was valuable—until they transitioned to DNA Complete and removed nearly half of the reports I had already paid for. Only after the fact did they inform me that these reports were now reserved for higher-tier customers and that they were in a "transition period." At no point before my purchase did they disclose this.

When I reached out to customer support, they refused to issue a refund for the diminished service and repeatedly tried to upsell me on other products rather than addressing my actual concern. Only after I pressed them multiple times and made my request unmistakably clear did they finally attempt to help—though without offering a real solution. This is a blatant bait-and-switch—they changed the product after purchase, stripped away features, and left paying customers with far less than what they were originally promised. They had every opportunity to be transparent before I paid, but they chose not to be.

A company that removes core features after purchase without prior notice and then refuses to compensate affected customers is not one to be trusted. Save your money and go with a company that values honesty, transparency, and customer satisfaction.

In the end, after a few back n forth emails explaining my concerns they refused to give me a refund. Ive already convinced a few other friends to stear clear and glad they will be better off elsewhere.

Don't trust Nebula or DNA Complete with your sensitive information

I was a big fan of the whole concept of Nebula Genomics a couple of years ago. Taking the test was easy, my results showed up fast, and I found my analysis to be informative and interesting. I loved getting new reports and combing through my genetic data. In the past, this would've easily been a 5-star review.

But now, after learning my genetic data has become unavailable—without prior notice, I might add—it seems like the owner of Nebula Genomics (ProPhase Labs) is seeking to dodge the fallout from a privacy violation lawsuit by rebranding to "DNA Complete" and leaving those with "lifetime" Nebula memberships in the dust with no explanation. It's pretty darn ironic that the lawsuit was filed in October 2024, and DNA Complete was announced the following month, isn't it?

By the way, as a warning to any potential DNA Complete customers: That service is likely going to get sold off along with Nebula Genomics in the near future based on ProPhase Labs' apparent focus on "immediate cash generation" that includes "a potential sale of its genomics assets," according to a recent (Feb. 20, 2025) press release.

Where is our sensitive genetic information going to go, Nebula? You touted your privacy protections but you won't explain how you're going to handle this? Will our data be properly destroyed? Will it be sold?

Extremely disappointed that George Church is participating in all this.

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. I ordered a NEBULA GENOMICS kit at the end of January 2025. The kit, shipped from the US to Switzerland, never arrived, or rather, the USPS courier sent it to Switzerland and then sent it back to US without it being delivered to me. I have contacted NEBULA several times by email who say it takes up to 8 weeks for the kit to be delivered. So it could go backwards several more times.... no comment. Considering the cost of the test, they could use a more efficient shipper than USPS and invest a little more on shipping rather than save money and use USPS (possibly the worst shipper in the world) instead of DHL, UPS or FEDEX. I have asked for a refund but as long as they don't receive the kit back I get nothing back, although it is clear from the tracking that the kit is now in the US.
I strongly advise against this. Seriousness can be seen right from the start.

Forced to buy new membership or lose data

I was given a membership to Nebula genomics years ago, by a major health system in return for being in a trial. I have never been required to pay for the membership, however I just found out they are shutting down (basically rebranding) and I'm required to pay for a year membership under their new company name or they will delete my DNA information. I didn't get a notification ahead of time that this was happening, if they sent an email I didn't receive it, I found out by chance days before my information will be deleted. I've tried to download it to my computer but it's not working correctly. I don't know how to get help with it and I'm unable to afford a year membership, so I'm assuming I'll be losing all of my DNA data. I don't feel they should be deleting everyone's data so quickly, with little warning, and just because we can't, or aren't willing, to purchase a new membership.

Nebula is shutting down and breaks their promise

Initially, I got a good experience. It took a while to process the DNA and get the results, but, eventually, I got the results. I paid for the most expensive sequencing with a promise of lifetime access to my data and reports. Now I ACCIDENTALLY found out that they are "shutting down" in 10 days and I must "upgrade" (pay for annual subscription) to a new company "DNA Complete" to preserve my data:

"Nebula Genomics will shut down on 05/Feb/2025

After this date, Nebula will no longer support memberships or store DNA data.
You will need to download your data by 05/Feb/2025 if you do not transition to DNA Complete.
Any data not transitioned to DNA Complete may be permanently deleted after this deadline."

Now I feel like many other people who left their negative reviews. It also feels like "DNA Complete" is simply a rebranding just to shake off the old clients. Their lifetime subscription is just a scam.

SCAM ARTISTS

Please be VERY careful when you purchase from this company! They are complete SCAM ARTISTS! They will charge your credit card year after year and if you don’t pay it will completely erase all information. They do not let you know this information upon initial purchase and if you buy it as a gift - you’re screwed because the person you purchased it for has to cancel…
BEWARE! Their test is no more informative than any other DNA company either - every other company lets you keep the initial purchase info.
What a mistake buying from them…

Lack of updates, hidden fees, and zero accountability. Stay far away from Nebula Genomics!

Let’s start with the fact that they don’t care at all about keeping you updated. I swabbed my cheeks for at least two minutes - the swab even got pinkish from a bit of blood - and sent them my sample the same day. I did this in the morning, on an empty stomach, with full oral hygiene the night before (flossing, brushing, and mouthwash).

I was feeling fine, not sick, so it was unlikely the sample was contaminated.

When the kit arrived at their lab, I didn’t see any updates on my profile on the Nebula website. Only after I contacted them did they update the progress bar to “Arrived at lab” and even that took a few days after I reached out.

Here’s the kicker: after two months of waiting, the status was still stuck on “Arrived at lab.” So I decided to follow up again and asked if they had even started the DNA extraction process. Their reply was the usual vague, copy-paste answer that my kit was “still being processed.” When I asked for specifics about the stage of processing (DNA extraction, quality control, or sequencing), they suddenly went silent for a few hours. Then, out of nowhere, I got an email saying my kit had failed.

Honestly, at this point I lost my temper and swore on them a lot. After pushing for more details, they finally admitted that my sample actually failed in the previous week during a reprocessing attempt. So they were clearly bullshitting to me about the kit status all along.

To make matters worse, they don’t even tell you why the kit failed. It could be due to insufficient DNA material or contamination, but they don’t give specifics. You’re left guessing, which makes it harder to avoid issues the next time.

Here’s another sneaky detail: they charge $35 for a replacement kit, which likely costs them next to nothing. This fee isn’t disclosed clearly anywhere - not even in their policies online.

Like an idiot, I decided to try again. I followed the instructions exactly and sent in a second sample. Guess what? That kit failed too.

At this point, all I want is for them to refund my husband, who bought this disaster of a gift for my birthday. Never using them again.

Do not buy tests from Nebula - potential scam

Like many other reviews here we too paid $hundreds for a genetic test - we took the sample perfectly, sent it off,but then waited months and months for a response - eventually we called and were told the sample was not adequate / failed - which is absolute nonsense as we are very experienced with DNA testing. Then they tried to charge us $35 for a new test kit. Having read that so many others have had the same experience we can only conclude that Nebula Genomics is either a scam or at best is totally incompetent. I am disgusted by their ‘Harvard University’ CEO Kamal Obbad and will be writing to his company’s investors to alert them to the fact that nearly a quarter of their customers, according to Trustpilot, basically think they not fit to do business.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I have spent all week trying to get confirmation of arrival since my tracking shows delivered but my account doesn't show arrived. Apparently, the kit was older and sent to a previous address and I have been told everything except what I have asked. I keep getting referred to another company when the box CLEARLY said to contact nebula and create the account with them. I have offered to pay the $35 for redelivery that was mentioned to be sent to the new address.

Seems fishy

Received my results in a pretty decent time, but I am highly suspicious of a company that creates a product touted to be good, and then also creates a product that helps you used it conveniently. The 'report' that you get highlights areas of concern, but you soon realize this could be primarily based on how you answer the initial quiz. How about I DONT take the quiz and you tell me what I may have? And then when I get the results make it readable not suddenly requiring an additional product to make it usable. I will update if it gets better but thus far I am disappointed. MAKE IT USABLE.

Paid $1,000 for testing, only to later find out you need a subscription to get the results in any sort of readable format. Wasn't at all apparent when I purchased it I needed to pay to access readable results.

This company starts to look like an…

This company starts to look like an absolute scam. It took months to receive the kit. Then I sent my sample and got back the response that I didn't sample enough DNA which is absolutely nonsense as I followed their instructions and I have already experience using other genetic services and I never got any similar complaint. They want to send me a new kit that costs me another 35$. So when I sent that kit, they can tell me the same nonsense and charge me another 35$ for the next new kit. It looks like they are forcing me to go to court very soon to recuperate everything I paid them.

Shipping:
Shipping from Nebula: USPS (default, no option on ordering form)
I highly advice anyone outside USA to ask for a faster, more reliable shipping service (DHL Express, UPS, FEDEX) upon ordering. USPS delivers to countries' local post services which are usually slow, unreliable and customs handling is inefficient. Make sure to ask Nebula to instruct the origin shipping company to provide a Return Label otherwise when you attempt to ship your sample to them, you will receive a decline except for DHL Express and the local post services.

Sampling:
1 sample (saliva) was enough
..provide enough material to avoid being asked for a 2nd sample
....make sure to follow procedure thoroughly
....take your time
....do not contaminate your sample

On the health side, considering the report provided to me, this WGS is the best gift I have ever given to myself. Considered one of the most precise/reliable (coverage x100) DNA tests available to the public on the market, the data I acquired is truly invaluable. From a library of 300+ reports of genetic variants' cases we have already verified those with the higher percentile. The accuracy in cases that doctors did not believe my health problems opting for psychological issues is unprecedented. There are details about psychological/behavioral issues that I never expected a DNA test would provide.

On the ancestry side, the results look expected.

Regarding duration of the whole process, I consider 2 months from date of ordering a fast experience, taking into account that Nebula states a period of up to 14 weeks for a WGS/x100 from date of initiation of sequencing.

On the downside I must confess that Nebula is lacking in the customer support department. Even though I got replies to all of my questions, the answers where somewhat unessential. Their progress bar, from receive of sample to final report, was not updated. I couldn't find alternative shipping option in the ordering form, they told me that I had to ask via email. The enormous 400+ GB of FastQ data is not acceptable by most of other DNA analyzing companies for the time being. Maybe, as technology progresses (processors and storage), things will get better in the near future.

Keep in mind that the data you receive needs to be fed to doctors/geneticists for further analysis prior to reaching any conclusion. The complete information I received will take me months to asses and utilize in practice with the help of my doctors.

Regarding health, genetics medicine via DNA sequencing and analysis helps patients and patients help genetics medicine to evolve by providing samples. We are helping each other and future generations via this process.
