**Hey! Here’s my honest take on Testbirds:**
I started using Testbirds because I was curious — you hear about people getting paid to test apps and websites, and honestly, it sounded fun and easy. So I signed up, filled out my profile, and waited for projects.
At first, I was *excited* — the platform looks nice, the tasks seem cool, and they promise you can make money just by giving feedback or finding bugs. I even got a few invitations in the beginning, and that felt awesome. I completed a couple of tests and thought “okay, this could actually work.”
But then reality hit a bit…
Here’s what it *actually* felt like:
📌 **The good stuff**
* When I *did* get a test, it was interesting — sometimes I’d be trying out a new app or website feature, and it didn’t feel like work at all.
* The tasks were usually straightforward — click around, try stuff, talk about what you see.
* Payments that *did* go through were legit — I got paid on time to my PayPal and it was nice seeing that money hit my account.
📌 **The not-so-good stuff**
* The biggest problem? **Not enough tests.** After the first couple, invites became super rare. Some weeks I didn’t get *anything* to do — just crickets.
* I also had a few where I completed a test and then they said “sorry, not accepted” — even though I followed the instructions perfectly. That was frustrating.
* Sometimes they ask for very specific profiles — like only people who use a certain app or are in a certain country — and if you don’t match, you don’t get picked.
💸 **Earnings**
Honestly, you won’t get rich from Testbirds. If you’re lucky and get picked often, you can earn a bit of pocket money. But for me? It was *patchy* — a bit here, a bit there, nothing reliable. More like a small side hustle, not a steady income.
🌟 **Overall vibe**
I’d say **Testbirds is legit** — it’s not a scam, and I did get paid for the tests I finished. But it’s also not as consistent as some people might hope. It’s fun if you’re doing it as something extra, but definitely **don’t depend on it for regular money.**

I have been testing with Testbirds for several years, and overall my experience has been positive. The platform itself is quite complex, but if someone is not comfortable dealing with that, testing might simply not be the right field for them.
If you apply as a tester, it is definitely a good idea to register as many devices as possible and keep your operating systems up to date in your device list. Even then, there are many cases where you are not selected for a test. Sometimes something takes longer than expected — but that is simply part of this kind of work.
Whenever I have been selected for a project, everything has gone smoothly for me, from communication to payment. Overall, I find Testbirds reliable and fair.

I was accepted for the test "share your thoughts in the recording for a well known automotive website", i completed the test and submitted my report on it but later on i got a message saying i was not selected for the test, meanwhile this is a test i was already accepted for, participated in and submitted my report on it.
I reach out to support several times but they didn't get back to me.

I've had a good experience as a tester for Testbirds. If you have the right expertise, it may be interesting and worthwhile.

Testbirds is a great platform for anyone interested in testing digital products and providing real feedback. The projects are well-structured, the instructions are clear, and payments are always on time. I like how they make the testing process simple while still giving room to share detailed insights. It’s a reliable way to contribute to improving apps and websites while earning something extra.

I'm an occasional tester, not specialist in data, and I always had good experiences. The team is easy to contact and, globally, reactive. Projects are various and ask many different knowledge that made me improve my capabilities.

One small thing I’d love to see added is an option on the dashboard to hide past or irrelevant tests — it would make navigating available tasks even easier. Other than that, I’m really happy with how things work here.

I have been QA testing here for 2-3 years now? Don't remember.
I giving 5 Stars because everything works smoothly with the payment and the jobs I get.
I only wish that TestBird could have more "jobs", but maybe in the future I hope.

I used to test with Testbirds... years ago. Test opportunities began to dwindle, but I figured, it happens. Fastforward to October 2025, I'm stil attempting to accept testing invitations and every link (tests, support, tester log in, etc.) is giving an error message. This is really unprofessional and dissappointing.

Participated in two Crowd Survey's in August and September 2024. Not paid for months. Only paid out after contacting them April 2025.
Policies for accepting, rejecting, downgrading bugs are ad-hoc depending on the birdmaster's personality and mood.
Bird test user interface needs improvement. Bird encountering a bug is meant to go through all bugs reported by other testers and only report the bug found if it's not already been reported. No free text search function when going through bugs reported by other birds.
keep a screencast from the start of each test, that way you have evidence to send for those bugs that appear once only (Birdmasters tend to refuse or downgrade severity if no screencast is uploaded). Birdmasters should encourage/remind birds to do this (start a screencast when bird BEGINS the testing) within the test description!!

I completed academy and test course in February but I didn't get opportunity to work and It is now July. I have some decent amount of devices and I really gone through the hassle of completing the test bird academy which was really time consuming. I have decided to delete my account. It is not worth my time.

"Hi Tania
apologize for the delayed response, it was public holiday in Europe. I see you made a payment request, normally everything should be OK now, let me know if you have any issue
Anna"

I provided feedback on new software that is being developed. The entire process was organized and responsive. Nina asked great questions in my interview and was adept at making adjustments when I provided unexpected answers.

they didn't pay me for the welcome assignment, even after contacting them several times! and they take testers who are using paid testbird profile, so others have little chance to participate!
