Got banned without an explanation
A US resident ;i opened an account fews days; provided my ID and proof of address for verification purposes. Few minutes later i got an email from Nexo that they have reasonable grounds to terminate my account. I did not even trade yet and they are refusing to tell me what that " supposed reasonable ground" is. That's terrible customer relation.

Using Nexo for few years with great results
I have been using Nexo for few years now and it has been a go to tool for my crypto management.
My biggest selling point is using virtual card flawlessly in all parts of the world - and when I say in all parts of the world I mean US, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, UK, Germany, UAE, Singapore, Vietanam.
Never have I had any problems with the card. Add cashback on top of that + interest accumulating.
Once I had an issue with ATM and customer support was attentive and responded promptly (this is premium account)

Top Crypto Exchange & Wealth Management!
You can buy/sell/swap coins and borrow money depending on how much coins you have deposited. There's 2FA, passkey and phishing ID in communications.
I've joined the platform to get interest on my coins, rather than just hodling. Nexo is authorised by the FCA to promote their services via Gateway 21. The FCA licence given to Gateway 21 does not authorise them or Nexo to handle client money. So if the company goes belly-up, you won't be compensated
by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
But hey, I have crypto in staking and liquidity pools companies that are not authorised by the FCA as well. So I'm willing to take the risk with a top-notch company like NEXO.

Had a fraudolent transaction to my virtual card. I contacted Nexo support, that gave me prompt advice on how to handle the situation right away, and initiated the procedure for the reimbursement that I received soon after. Great experience with Nexo and especially their support!

All Nexo assets stollen
I had all my crypto assets at Nexo stollen in April 1, 2024: 1.01 Bitcoin, 11.2 ETH, 22 SOL. The thief gained control of my cell phone through a SIM swap and my email account and proceeded to attack all my financial accounts. It took many days to convince Nexo that I was the rightful owner of my account. There was no phone number to call, only messaging which was very slow. By the time I regained access to my Nexo account, all was gone.
Nexo rep informed me that the theft was my fault because it was confirmed by email. Nexo did give me the IP address of the fraudster and the wallet address of the stollen funds but I was not able to recover funds and Nexo offered no help in trying to recover funds.
The fraudster used similar tactics at other crypto accounts and financial accounts I owned, but was only successful stealing from my Nexo account.
If Nexo made it as hard for the thief to access my account as it was for me to regain access, the theft would not have been successful. I did not feel Nexo reps felt any compassion for my loss nor help in trying to recover. This was a life changing loss.

Unfortunately, in cases involving SIM swap attacks and compromised email accounts, the transactions are confirmed through the access channels under the client’s control at the time. Once assets are transferred on chain under such circumstances, they are most often outside our technical and operational possibilities to recover.
We also acknowledge your feedback regarding communication and compassion. We regret that our support interactions did not reflect the level of empathy you expected during such a difficult time. This is not the experience we aim to provide.
Since April 2024, we have continued to strengthen our platform and introduced additional protective tools to help clients better safeguard their accounts. These include enhanced two-factor authentication options, wallet whitelisting, passkeys, and cool-off periods for sensitive actions. These measures are designed to significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access, even in scenarios involving SIM swaps or email compromise.
In situations like this, we recommend reaching out to local authorities for further assistance, as they are best positioned to pursue investigations involving fraud and theft. Where necessary and possible, we remain willing to cooperate by providing any relevant information we can to support such efforts.
